Really Collin? There are people trying to loose weight, that picture needs to be removed immediately 😉
Got one! my family can go to a pizzeria in fort wayne for 3.50! thanks!
I have a ?, the certificates usually say 18% gratuity added before discount on them, is this the tip they take out automatically? or is it an added fee for using the certificate and u have to tip on top of the 18%????
I wondered the same thing….hmmmm.
yea…I’m wondering that too. And are there strings attached…or is it just a 25.00 certificate? I am thinking of giving some as gifts and then using some ourselves. I kinda want a little more information before I purchase these
The only stipulation that I have found, is that if you purchase the $25 certificate, you need to spend at least $35 in order to get the $25 off. There really is no other strings attached.
I think that’s the tip. But what if you get crappy service, you’re still forced to give a good tip. Most restaurants also have a minimum purchase amount, usually anywhere from 35-50 or more depending on the gift certificate. Some of them also have a lot of restrictions.
No, some restaurants will add 18% to the bill total BEFORE the $25 is taken off. So, if your total was $50, then the 18% would be figured on the $50, not the $25 (which is what your total will be after they take off the certificate). Any of the restaurants I have been to from purchasing these, have not added the tip on the bill. So, I think it is up to the restaurant whether they add the 18% onto the bill or not. Hope that explaination helps.
I have done a lot of these, and in my experience, the tip has not been included on our bill. If you can find a restaurant you want to try first, then when you buy a $25 certificate, you have to spend $35, so your out of pocket is $2 plus $10 plus the tip. Now, if you spend way over the $35, then you have to pay for that, so we always try to be right on $35 so we can spend around $20 total for a nice meal for our family of 4. Which is a good deal, if you can find a restaurant you want!
The 18% is gratuity, not a fee for using the certificate.
I used a $50 off $100 certificate at House of Blues yesterday. They added the 18% to the total bill, then took off the $50
I used mine the other day and the 18% was added on prior to the deduction of the gift certificate. The only reason they do this is because some people are cheap and will attempt to tip on the discounted rate.
Awesome! I did the 6mo. option total $175.00 for $12!
OK…question! Are these just $25 gift certifcates (no purchase required to use them) so if I wanted to give one a month as a gift to someone? Is the $50 the same…no purchase required? I know they come thru your email and you have to print them off…just want to make sure before I purchase them
I think it depends on the restraunt u choose, every restaurant has a terms & Conditions section. I have never did more than just the gift certificate never a 12 month or 6 month option
Most restaurants have a minimum purchase of $35 to use a $25 GC. The conditions vary by location.
please help, i am trying to purchase the 12 month club and i cant purchase it through shopathome, where do i find it?? if anybody knows please tell me how. thank you
plz notice you can use this for their online stores too…I just got $25 cert for lobstergram for only $2! that place is expensive anyways but I was already planning on ordering for a romantic dinner for when hubby comes home on his 2 week leave from afghanistan in april, so i basically just saved 23 bucks! thanks collin!!!!!!
Where do you find the online stores?
Nevermind – found it! 🙂
Essentially, if you include the minimum requirements for most of the deals and the tip (regardless of whether they take it out or you pay it), it comes out to about 50 – 55% off your meal. I personally don’t care for the fact that there is a minimum as there are only 2 in my house and it’s hard to reach that requirement but for a family, I can see where it would still be a good deal. Read the fine print and do the math on each deal though. Regarding the tip, even if the restaurant doesn’t charge, you should be paying the tip on the FULL pre-discounted amount not the discounted amount that you pay.
Just bought a couple of certificates to use when we go to Disney later this year! Any time you can save $$$ on food when visiting WDW it’s awesome!
Why doesn’t Jacksonville jump on the Restaurant.com train? I mean, I love Pancho Villa’s, but some VARIETY would be nice!
Why can’t I get the restaurant deals to pop up? I get to the homepage of “restaurant.com” and it wants me to type in a zip code, city, etc and when I do, I get a blank page. Does anyone know what is going on????? 🙁 I want to snatch up some deals!!!!
It’s FORK Now for 60% off!!
The site did NOT take the prom code SPOON or FORK…any suggestions?
This deal expired, but i googled and found the code ENJOY. It saved me 70% on my restaurant.com purchase. Yay! 🙂
