This deal looks pretty sweet, but I was looking at the thred-up website and shipping is $10.95 which seems a bit steep to me. Just wanted people to be aware before they buy the deal.

    • Angela

This would be $1 shipped. The price of a box plus shipping is $15.95 normally. So they are giving you 1 trade (which includes shipping) with this deal for $6 unless you are signing up through Colin’s link and get the bonus $5.

And Colin is right that generally speaking these boxes include many items & often your price per item is less than $1.

      • Ann

Thanks for the clarification. I guess I didn’t read it thoroughly. I will definitely be doing it!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

THE DESCRIPTION SAYS THE DEAL INCLUDES FREE SHIPPING.

    • Heather

the deal comes w/ free shipping

    • Lorilynne Leath

Yes but for this offer the shipping is free.

    • Tabitha

If you are a thredup member, every box you choose is $15.95-this includes shipping. You don’t pay for a box, then more for shipping, the price is everything. So basically, you get an entire box of clothes for $15.95. (or $6 if you use this deal) ;0

  2. Jessica

It didn’t give me the $5 credit.

    • Kelly

It didnt give me the credit either, and I confirmed thru email and even tried signing up with an alternate email!?!

    • Lana

Did not get the $5.00 credit either 🙁

    • Johanna

Deal Pulp says that it will be delivered to the door for free. The fine print says this does not include shipping. Which is it?

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Looks like the fine print is generic info. It says unless otherwise noted. The deal includes free shipping. 🙂

    • Ilana

No credit for me, even though I confirmed subscription and verified e-mail. 🙁

  3. Dawn

It looks like I have to enter my cc info BEFORE I say which size/gender? Is this all legit? Has anyone done this before?

    • Angela

Yes. I’ve been doing it for awhile. Use paypal if you want but they are a great company and stand behind the swaps.

    • MollyC

They won’t charge the card if you enter a deal code. They have 12,000 fans on facebook- its a very legit company. Contact support for any issues. They respond quickly.

  4. rachael

So…when you get your promo code…you go and pick out the clothes and THEN do you have to box up some of your kids’ clothes for the swap? I’m confused too….

    • MollyC

You don’t have to swap your clothes but if you want to then you can. If you are going to purchase boxes frequently then you need to swap boxes. When you first join I believe you get 3 picks. If you don’t send out any boxes you won’t get more picks.

  5. MollyC

Thredup is a great site! I joined a couple weeks ago and I am hooked! The normal price for each box is $5 plus $10.95 for priority mail shipment. When you swap one of your own boxes- you don’t pay for shipping and alot of the indemand sizes will get you a $5 credit when someone picks your box. There are also things called golden threds. At least once a week a clothing store is a sponsor and they have new boxes of clothes available for $5 plus shipping. I have gotten 4 boxes for my daughter and I’ve been happy with all of it!

    • Dawn

Wait, so I am new and have the $5 credit—-can I just do this for the $1, or do I have to send in clothing as well? I’m confused…..my credit is already there on my account—–I think I may have signed up for this before in the past with some $5 deal for signing up, otherwise I read that they send you the promo in the next day or so???

      • MollyC

You will pick a box and enter you code. If you want to participate in thred up then you can list some boxes of your own. Check out the FAQ section. Its very informative.

    • Alea

Glad you liked your boxes – I sent out one box and got one box. I sent out a pretty full box of nice clothes. The box I received was an assortment of sizes from 3 months to 24 months – some quite faded and was advertised as a box of 9 month clothing. So I was quite disappointed. Rates have gone up twice since I joined last summer and I haven’t been overly impressed with the customer service.

People just need to remember that if they get a box, they owe a box of clothes too – so it’s not just $6 or $1 rate – it’s the money plus an agreement to also send out a box of clothes.

      • MollyC

I had one box that I wasn’t happy with but now I am more careful and I read the reviews that other people left or only buy boxes that are very detailed in the description. If you are a fan on facebook then alot of the time people post pictures of their boxes there. That way you can see exactly what was inside.

  6. susanna

I tried this site but you have to send a box to get a box or something like that.

    • Leighann

You do not have to send a box to get your 1st box, but if you want to get other boxes you’ll have to send.

  7. Jessie W

I didn’t get the credit. Is there a trick to it or do I have to wait a certain amount of time?

    • Kelly

Well I signed up last week for another sale thinking I would receive the $5 credit, and never did, so dont think waiting a few will work. Hmmmm….

  8. Laura K

I use this site and love it…the only bummer for me about this deal is that since I am already a ThredUp member, I can’t do it… 🙁 But…I do love the site and have gotten REALLY nice brand name clothes. Totally worth it for the $15 a box!!! 🙂

    • MollyC

I wish I could have bought this deal too!

      • Susan

umm you could make up new account in your SO name???? Just a thought

        • MollyC

The address would be the same but maybe I could use my mom’s address!

  9. Abby

For some reason my $5 credit did not show up?

  10. Gabrielle

Didn’t get the credit, either 🙁 Maybe it takes a while for it to go through?

  11. Patricia

Perfect! I needed some clothes in the next size for my daughter, so this is great!

I just signed up and got the five dollar credit!

  12. Kristy

The website is saying I am already a member and I have never even heard of this website before today. I wrote them an email asking how I could get a membership…we will see. It sounds too good to be true.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

It did that to me too and I do not remember signing up. So I entered in my email and password I used under the sign up section in the login box and it worked and I got the $5 credit.

  13. Katy

I dont see where I get a $5 credit and how do I choose the size and gender?….not sure about this deal….

  14. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Has anyone signed up through Collin’s link and got the $5 credit? I don’t want to sign up if the credit is no longer available.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I receive my credit through Collin’s link.

  15. Abby

What about the size and gender thing…do you choose those once you get the promo code in a couple of days?

    • Alea

You are able to pick the size, gender, and from a list of descriptions about each box available.

  16. Candy

I didn’t get the $5 credit for signing up, either.

  17. Megan

I got mine for $1! Already had my $5 credit from when I registered before

  18. april r.

It’s not giving the $5 Credit.

  19. Dawn

I think I am NOT doing this, as I am totally confused by info here AND on the site. I don’t want to be charge $15.95 later if I don’t send a box of clothes back to them—– so thanks for the info, but I’m really leery right now about what happens.

    • MICHELE LANGLEY

I was wondering the same thing!

    • Kelly

True–trying to find clarification regarding having to ship out a box AFTER receiving a $6 (or $1) box. If you have to turn around, and ship out a box, it might not be worth it.

    • Angela

That’s disappointing. 🙁 I have been using the site for several months now. I have received 6 boxes and sent 2 so far. I used a deal site for my membership when I first signed up. I’ve received some great brands and clothes in wonderful condition. As someone mentioned earlier you really need to read the detailed descriptions and look for senders with high ratings. It is worth it in my opinion but I can understand how someone could be leery.

    • MollyC

You won’t get charged $15.95. You can use the deal and if you want to buy another box in the future- then you will need to pay $15.95.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

You’re not obligated to send anything. You get the code, choose a box, and have it shipped to you for free. If you choose to continue using the site and swapping clothes, you will need to pay $15.95 for any future boxes that you pick (the cost of using the site plus shipping fees).

  20. lakshmik

I didn’t got the $5 credit.. plz help.. I tried with mine and my hubby account also.. no credit.

  21. Jennifer K.

Does anyone know if they have larger sizes? My son is 7 so I need 7s and 8s.

    • Angela

Yes they do. I think they have fewer to pick from though. If you were interested you could post on their facebook page to see if anyone on there can build a custom box for you as well.

  22. MICHELE LANGLEY

So by ordering this box have I obligated myself to sending clothes back as well?

    • Leighann

No. If you want to continue getting boxes, you will have to send a box of clothes. However, to get your first box, you are not required to send out a box.

    • Terah

Thats the way I understand it. I emailed ThredUp and was told that eventually, I would have to send a box back too. I am glad I only paid $1. I think I will be skipping this one 🙁

      • Leighann

You only have to do it eventually. If you never choose another box from ThredUp (if you just get the 1 box you paid $1 for) then you won’t owe them any boxes. If you decide you like ThredUp and want to keep getting more boxes from them, you will eventually owe a box.

  23. Mary Whitney

I am confused…if I get a box with this deal will I need to send out a box?

    • Amy

No you don’t need to send a box. 🙂

  24. debra

If anyone is interested here is my link for dealpulp. It says we both get $5 and I would be so appreciative. If you have a link you would like me to sign up under in exchange just send me an email with the info. Thanks! debra32@yahoo.com

    https://dealpulp.com/i/mtnvwhqm

  25. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Deal Pulp is frustrating. They had the same issues with not giving people the $5 credit a few weeks ago when they had a Target gift card deal. The day AFTER the deal, they explained that it was a glitch in their system and they would give people $5 credits in their account if they emailed. Now it seems there is a glitch again?!

  26. April

Thanks! I did it and got the $5 credit! 🙂
    Can’t wait! Hope they have 6 & 7’s for sizes. 🙂
But if not, I can always do it and get it for someone else!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Did you have the credit from before or did you just now sign up under Collin’s link?

    • MollyC

They should have 6/7. I have trouble finding 14 for my son but the smaller sizes always have something.

  27. rachel

so if Idecided to do this in the future. I PAY 16 dollars pljus a box of colthes. Dosen’t seem fair u should jsut swap boxes for free with others. 80 percent of my kids colthes are fro mthe childrens place and I would be made to swap for a box of walmart colthes. I am scared to try.

    • Leighann

Most of the clothes I got had big name brands like The Children’s Place, Osh Kosh, Gap, Old Navy… I think I got a couple of Garanimals t-shirts in there. I was very pleased.

The people you’re giving the box to aren’t getting the box for free, btw. They also have to pay a $16 fee for the box. Most of that goes for shipping the box (because the box is shipped to you priority mail) but part of the money you pay goes towards operating the website and making a small profit for the folks who own the website. When you send a box, you’re getting credit to be allowed to choose another box. If you send enough of special sized boxes (they list these on their website), you can actually get credit to your account ($2 or $3) that can wind up paying for a box for you.

If you’re unsure about trying this deal, then do not do it. Deals come and go. However, I have used ThredUp before and really liked my experiences there, so I’m taking advantage of a $1 box.

  28. Tricia

I did just sign up and did get the credit. When I looked at the upper right hand side of the webpage, I saw a “$5.00”; I clicked on it and it showed my account with a $5.00 credit. Maybe log back onto the site and you’ll see it. Good Luck!

    • maureen

Thanks Tricia, for posting where you saw the credit! I was expecting to get a code via email.

  29. Amy

I just signed up and received the $5 credit immediately. If you read the deal, you will get an email tomorrow after the deal ends and in that email you will receive info about how to get your box of clothes. You don’t actually get to choose your gender/sizes until you get the email. It will have a promo code that you will use on thredup.com not on the dealpulp.com site. 🙂

    • Dawn

Oh……I think I get it now, except the part about possibly sending out clothes in the future. I can just see all of the people that DID sign up fighting over a good box of clothing! I guess it’s good for 6 months or so?

  30. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

SO do you have to send a box of clothes too???

    • Leighann

No. You only have to send out a box of clothes if you decide you want to get another box.

  31. Hooked on Bargains

I just spoke with a rep on thredUP’s site…I hope this answers some questions you might have about it!

Stephanie: When members join they are allowed to pick a box prior to listing one
Stephanie: $15.95 is the total price of any box on the site without a deal
$5 + $10.95 shipping. does that make sense?
Stephanie: And then when they receive the voucher code they can pick a box and get it shipped to the house
So you can pick a box but you can not pick any more until they send a box
They could get one box….. but if they decide to keep participating they will have to list a box
Not for the first pick though
    ——-
    Hope that helps!

  32. Katy

OK so i just got an email that I had to confirm my subscription and as soon as I did that I got a $5 credit to my account!

  33. jd

I have done this twice before. Both boxes were duds. I have a son who is 10 and wears a size 12. Both boxes had nothing but Wal Mart clothes in them. The clothes were in poor condition. My son did not wear anything from either box. This might not be a bad idea for 0-5 but as kids get older, at least for boys, the quality went way down. I would never do this again.

  34. Leighann

I’ve used ThredUp before, I can help illuminate folks who don’t know how it works.

When you sign up for ThredUp, they ship you 10 Priority Mail boxes that you are supposed to use to trade in your old kids’ clothes. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO DO THIS, but if you want to get multiple boxes, you’re going to have to.

You pick your first box for about $16 (this is the price of the box and includes shipping to your home. You do not pay extra for shipping). The box arrives in about 4 or 5 days. Then you are supposed to make up a box to send out, yourself.

The premise behind ThredUp is that it is a huge clothing swap, with the small fees going towards running the website and paying for postage for the boxes. If you’ve got a kid who just outgrew a size in clothes, you can find the most gently-used ones, pack them up in the box and list them. For every box you list, you get to choose a box to get.

The two boxes I got were just fabulous, packed full of size 24m and 3T clothes (Probably between 10 and 15 pieces per box) that were all in very good condition and very stylish. Most people list descriptions of the clothes that are in the boxes, so you have an idea of what you’re going to get.

If you’re able to get the $5 DealPulp credit, then this is a GREAT deal, especially if you’ve got an infant or toddler. Larger kid sizes don’t fit as many clothes per box as the smaller sizes do (because of the space of the box) so you’re getting more smaller sized clothes. $1 for a box of baby clothes (ideally) shipped to your house is great, because that’s almost free.

    • Amber R.

So let me see if I got this, we dont HAVE to send out a box of our kids clothes for this first box? Only if we want to receive more boxes of clothes, correct?

      • Leighann

That is right. You don’t have to send out a box to get your 1st box, and using the Deal Pulp Deal, you will get that 1st box for either $1 or $6 (depending on your credit) 😀

  35. Andrea

So I got the deal and I am now reading I have to send a box if I buy a box. I do not want to send a box. DOes this mean I just lost a dollar? What do they do if you never send a box?

    • Hooked on Bargains

Hi Andrea, No you don’t. Read what Stephanie the rep at thredUP wrote…

      • Amber R.

You answered my question perfectly! I feel alot better about this deal now, thank you so much!

        • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

This helps lots! Thank you so much! I am excited to see what this is like. 🙂

  36. Amber R.

I got it for a $1! I just hope this deal turns out to be legit

  37. Lisa

I’ve been using ThredUp, and I really enjoy it. I get new-to-me clothes and also get to clean out my closets. You can also get toys, books, etc. And you can also get referral credits, too! It’s the give $5, get $5. Share the love and the clothes!! lol

    https://www.thredup.com/126223

Thanks for sharing “my” secret, Collin!

  38. Gabrielle

I’m confused as to how this small business is going to send boxes to 1000+ people who ordered it on dealpulp….I mean, the boxes come from members of threadup, so if they don’t receive a box back that’s not fair for them.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I was just thinking the same thing. How are they ever going to have enough boxes of clothes to send to all of us who just signed up. Especially if we have no intention of sending a return box….

    • Lisa

It is fair because it allows the person who’s box was picked, to pick a box from the site. Does that make sense? 🙂 As for the cost, the boxes are free from the USPS, and the $15.95 covers shipping no problem!! I think it’s win-win. I THINK 😀 HTH!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

They receive a credit for sending a box. With that credit, they can pick a box from another member.

  39. desirae young

Grr i didnt get the crediT!

  40. Jennifer

Here’s my link if anyone wants to try signing up through it to get the $5 credit

  44. debra

    https://dealpulp.com/i/mtnvwhqm

  45. Kate

I wish they acccepted paypal. I do not like giving out credit card info on sites like that.

  46. kim

I am trying to sign up but it keeps saying invalid email address. Anyone else having this problem?

  47. Nathan

Can’t get the credit and I tried two different links. 🙁

  48. Jana

are you just taking a chance on the sizes? or am I missing where to put a size?

    • Lisa

You can actually search by size and gender on the ThredUp site. Then it will bring the various boxes up, and you can “search” the contents.
