I don’t have this particular one, but I just wanted to share that this type of blender is fantastic for making baby food. I would just microwave a bag of frozen vegetables and then use a stick blender to mash it up to the appropriate consistency, anywhere from creamy to chunky depending on the age.

Mara, I’ve been looking for one with a removable blade part that I can put in the dishwasher. Does yours have a tip that’s removable? I have a white one that’s all one piece and the bottom turned yellowish-orange from being used in soup pots, because I can’t wash it properly.
I’m guessing you can’t use this in Teflon coated pots/pans…

mine blended well, but broke after about 10 uses. I really only used it for potatoes. My suggestion would be.. get a larger pyrex mixing bowl and the metal blender
I don’t see why you couldn’t. You don’t jam it down to the bottom of the pan and scrape it along. If you’re doing soup, you just move it through the soup not ever touching the bottom.
I received this exact one for an xmas gift this year! LOVE IT! I have used it a ton, just last night to make a smoothie.
Will it blend frozen fruit well? I want one specifically to make smoothies. I have tons of peaches and strawberries that we picked last summer and needs to be used. If I can add some milk or yogurt along with the frozen fruit and easily blend it with this immersion blender, I am going to buy it.
I think a blender or food processor will work better than an immersion blender for smoothies. The blades on the immersion blender aren’t strong enough to cut through frozen fruit. It’s better for blending soups or something soft like mashed potatoes. I’d be afraid you’d burn out the motor pretty quickly if you used it for smoothies.

I have one of these, I use it a lot. I killed my first one making baby food. FYI if that’s what you’re planning on. It needs more liquid type stuff, it can’t handle grinding up adult food with a little milk added.
I’m on my second one now, no baby food usage, and it’s fine.

I have one of these and absolutely love it!! During the winter months I make a lot of different kinds of soups (butternut squash and roasted red pepper & tomotoe to name a few). You should have more liquid based components for this to work it’s best. For my butternut squash soup, the squash is almost falling apart. This device is designed to give a finished and uniform look to the soups, not work like a food processor. It’s a life saver, no more pouring contents into my food processor or blender, you just pulse in the pot. As far as cleaning goes, I usually rinse immediatly after and then it comes right off. I wish I had bought mine for this price.
This post seriously made my day. I was saving up amazon credits to buy this item exactly, to replace a cheap plastic one from a different company that was burning out and rusting. I bought this awhile ago and LOVE it. I make smoothies daily and this works great. Ice is not a challenge for this little babe! It is not stainless steel as it says. It’s plastic that’s colored to be stainless steel. BUT it is Ciuisinart and that IS a good brand. The plastic cup it comes with is perfect for a smoothie for one. I used it in soup, potatoes and fruit. Get it if you can!
