Had trouble again this week at two Targets….looked like the coupon went through correctly….got home and it was no where to be found on the receipt. I’m skipping Target for a while…..

    • mouni

I had that problem a lot before. What I do now to avoid that is add up my coupons before I do the transaction. When I see the total I deduct the coupons (a calculator would be helpful for this). If it doesn’t add up I’ll know that a coupon didn’t go through and ask the cashier to check. Didn’t have that problem yet since I started doing this. I also watch the screen like a hawk and make smaller transactions than I used to.

      • Lysandra

That’s exactly what I’ve been doing & I’ve cought them sooo many times. It’s horrible that I have to do this because I can’t trust them but I can’t pass up some of their deals. You just gotta be extra careful.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Try handing your coupons over one at a time and be sure to watch your total go down on the screen. This is what I do. I don’t take my eyes off the screen. I catch missed coupon deductions each and every shopping trip this way! I love shopping at Target but they are the only store I have a problem with when it comes to this.

    • Julie

I thought 2 of my Target store coupons didn’t go through. The cashier called a manager over. After looking through the receipt, and my coupons, we realized that the Target coupons just adjusted the price of the item, instead of having it show as a coupon.
Maybe that’s what happened? It’s always good to check though.

      • MEEE

Ya, it could of. I have to be really careful and use my calculator to add up every little trace of a coupon. The store coupons on my receipt show up in the price of that item. I don’t have a receipt on me right now, but its kind of like this EXAMPLE:

        I buy a bottle of A&H Laundry Detergent $4.99
I have on me (1) $1.00 Target Web Coupon and (1) .50 Manufacturer Coupon

The Receipt looks something like this:

        A&H Laundry Detergent *$3.99*
        -$1.00 coupon
        Manufacturer Coupon. -.50

OR..sometimes the Manufacturer coupon shows up at the bottom of the receipt. Always seems different to me. Anyway..check to see if they adjusted the price of your item and have some kind of coupon wording under it. If it doesn’t say Manufacturer coupon its probably the Target ….coupon. Surprisingly I haven’t had any problems lately. But I do agree. Try and make smaller transactions so that you don’t bust an eye out looking at that screen so hard lol. And always check your receipt before you leave either the store or parking lot. 🙂

      • Sandy

Nope. It was missing on both receipts. It was the BOGO Reeses coupon at both stores. It ticks me off, so I’m not even enjoying eating the candy bars 🙂

        • Miriam

I’ve only used coupons on one Target trip. I added up that the total should be $27 approximately and that’s what the total was so I thought I was good. I thought to check for my four $5 formula rebate checks eventhough my newborn had just started crying at checkout for milk. I saw that the cashier had only put through two and she said she was going to ask me about the other two. I had already moved aside and she was charging the next customer! She gave me $10. I think she planned on pocketing those checks because she never but them in the register but I couldn’t figure out why the total was $27 as I expected. Two days later I’m looking at the receipt again and see she didn’t charge me for a can of formula. Where I’m from everyone is looking to defraud. She counted with me four cans, four coupons, four rebate checks then she doesn’t scan one can and keeps two checks which means I won’t notice because it’s the same total and I have a crying baby… Shady.

  2. Courtney

Agree. Movie was weird, sad, boring. Book was funny, self-serving, but funny.

  3. Lana

Nope Collin not strange at all. I was not a fan of Eat Pray Love either!

  4. stacey

you’re not strange Collin….the movie was horrible…weird editing that took out too much or something

    • M

Yep, the movie was HORRIBLE! Even if it was free, i’d skip it.. don’t want to make anyone else unhappy about losing 2 hr’s of their life! 😉

  5. Tatyana

I didn’t watch Eat, Pray, Love (although I rented in RedBox with the free rental code) because my sister said it sucked. Now I’m really starting to believe it.

  6. Laura R.

I also didn’t like the movie! Glad I wasn’t the only one!! Now that was a woman who couldn’t make up her mind, and it was frustrating to watch… My humble opinion 🙂

    • Lana

So totally agree with your opinion and glad I wasn’t the only one who thought so! 🙂

  7. Beau

I just wish that Barbie and Ken were wearing more clothes; maybe that’s how they are selling them so cheap?! LOL

    • MommySpendsLess

Sadly, they’re dressed conservatively compared to what I see at the real beaches…

  8. Kristy

No prints left on the Tresemme coupon.

  9. mouni

Thanks alot, Collin! I Was planning a Target trip so this is great! 🙂
You’re not strange lol. I didn’t watch that movie but I know that it got terrible reviews.

  10. B

    Wooo hooo on gum!

    • Connie

Couldn’t find the Target Dentene Q. Out of prints??

      • bergen

I just printed it. Under grocery on pg 4 or 5.

  11. Brianna

    Seriously…. Regional=Fail… lol!

  12. P.Charles

    I loved the movie!

  13. Mitch

I received the flyer on Saturday and I did not see half these deals!
I was trained by my Grandmother to watch the cashier like a hawk when they are scanning your coupons. They make mistakes all the time, we can’t always get lucky and find one who is happy to hit override to keep things flowing!
    thanks
    http://www.gaynycdad.com

  14. Stacy

I was at my local Target on Saturday and was told they were getting a new computer system this week and using coupons would be a lot easier. Let’s keep our fingers crossed!! I also watch the coupon scanning like a hawk because the cashier starts scanning and you hear the “beep” but it shows up as $0.00 on the screen because they actually have to press keys on the pad for some coupons. This cashier also told me that they’re supposed to scan the smaller bar code with the 5 at the beginning, if the scanner catches the other one it does wierd things in the computer. Not sure about that, but when she put her hand over the other bar code so the scanner had to pick up the right one it worked great!! Wierd!!!

    • Joy

Only Target coupons should scan in at $0.00 on screen. The amount comes off but is automatically deducted on each line. For example, say dish soap is on sale for $2 and you have a $1 Target Q and a $1 manufacturer Q. On the receipt you will see dish soap for $1.00, not $2.00 (this is where the Target Q was deducted). Then, under it it should say “Coupon $1.00 off $2.00” (this is where the manufacturer Q was deducted). Or, it will take the manu Q off at the very bottom of reciept and say “MFR COUPON $1.00-”

      Hope that makes sense.

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Congratulations! You have been recognized by the Hip2Save Comment Fairy. As a result of your very helpful comment, you have been awarded a $5 Amazon e-card! Please look for this card in your email within the next hour. Thanks for being such a “Hip” reader!

        • Happy Momma

          Neat-o!!! And well deserved!! 🙂

        • Joy

Yeah me! Thanks Collin! Glad I could help someone. 🙂

  15. Lisa

Anyone else having trouble printing the Target coupons on redplum?

    • Joy

My Target Red Plums printed larger than normal and without pics. Not sure if my Target will accept them like that.

    • Kim J

I printed the tea ones, on Redplum, fine; then when I tried to print the WishBone ones, it told me I needed to install the coupon printer. Weird.

      • Lisa

The wishbone one is the one causing trouble for me too. I tried others by themselves and they worked fine. weird.

    • Sheri

I was trying to print the Dove ones. The wouldn’t print for me either. What’s up with it?

  16. Sarah

Agreed…movie was booooooring. Book was better, movie a total disappointment.

  17. Linda

Wow, What awesome deals, to bad I dont live close to a target, the nearest one to me is about 1hr away.

  18. Sondra

Only half-way through the movie that I just bought last night (never a good sign if I’m only half-way into it, if it’s really good I have to finish it…LOL!) Anyway, wanted to let you know the bargain I found…..(2) Classico Sauce ($1.99 at my store), had hangtag’s on the bottle for a FREE one wyb2 (which my cashier is the one who pointed it out to me since I was in a hurry and didn’t even notice and she said, I’ll use this for ya now! Shocking!) + Eat Pray Love Movie ($9 sale price), used $4/1 printable coupon. So total=$6.99 but submitting for $4 rebate, so $2.99 for 2/sauces + movie, not bad, even if I’m not a HUGE fan of the movie 😉

  19. Spencer J

CAN SOMEONE TELL ME WHERE TO FIND THE BEST PRICE ON RONZONI GARDEN DELIGHT PASTA? I HAVE TONS OFF 1 DOLLAR OFF COUPONS. PLEASE LET ME KNOW THANKS

    • fran

I don’t know if you have a Shop Rite near you, but they are 74¢ this week, so free after the $1 coupon. They also have Smart Taste and Healthy Harvest for the same price, so these would only cost 24¢ with the $1/2 coupon.

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Fran, do you know if up to what value does shop rite double the coupon? or pathmark? thanks.

    • Christine

I know Meijer had them on sale 10/$10, so only $1 each

    • Sheri

I think they are on sale at Meijer this week for $1.00.

      • stephenie

I’m in IL and at Jewel-Osco they are 10/$10 so free

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Can you tell me where did you find the coupon?

  20. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Yes, spencer i just went to shope rite yesterday bought 4 garden delight pasta ( limit was 4 even though i had 10 coupons) for 75 cents on sale but the coupon took off $1!!!!!!!!!! so i made profit =) make sure you buy something else so the money towards that goes to your other stuff. Hope that helps.

    • fran

Sidra, If you have the other coupons I mentioned, you could get 4 of each, and they should take your coupons for each. The ad reads “4 per variety”.

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

shope rite has limit u can only buy 4 with your shop rite saving card.

    • Spencer J

I dont have Meijer or Shop rite by me. dang it! thanks a lot

  21. Christine

Is anyone else having trouble finding the Glade seasonal spring collection room spray coupon on Target.com?

  22. Kim J

Seems silly for a cashier to ‘not’ let you use the 2nd vitamin coupon??? Think about it, Target is actually eating the cost for the FREE one. They are losing money. Whereas, if you use a 3.00 off coupon, then they are at least getting that 3.00 back from the manufacturer???

  23. Sarah

Is everyone aware of the Target Debit card. You save 5% off everything and it works just like a check (deducts from your bank acct). There’s no credit check check or fees. The only complaint I’ve seen is that it takes a couple of days to clear thru your acct. I signed up for mine yesterday and saved $2.50 off my $50 purchase, no much but it adds up.

    • Felinda

When you apply for the Target debit card do they run a credit check like when you apply for a credit card? I would love to have one of these since I am always shopping at Target.

      • Gunbunny135

        Nope. No credit check

  24. MommySpendsLess

Amazon also has the Barbie and Ken gift set on sale for $5 with free Super Saver/Prime/Amazon Mom shipping: https://www.amazon.com/Barbie-She-Said-Doll-Giftset/dp/B0044N2EJO/ref=sr_1_1?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1297702967&sr=1-1

A question for the mommies out there: What age did your daughter(s) start to become interested in Barbies? For $5 I figured this would be good for the gift closet or Toys For Tots if I get tired of storing it before my (18 month old) daughter’s old enough but it made me curious…

    • Sally

I made my oldest wait until she was 3 or 4, but my 2 year old loves her older sisters’ Barbies.

  25. Caro

Went to 1 of the Target stores here in the People’s Republic of PDX last Friday. The only Jello was large packages and I think there was 1 flavor. There were no empty spaces on the shelf, so I guess that’s all they carry. They would not accept the Maxwell House Target coupon on the International Cafe because it has a picture of the regular can of coffee. There were a couple other items they didn’t have either. I may try the other store this week to see if there is a difference in the stores. I gave up on Target quite a few years ago, before discovering “couponing,” because they never had anything in stock that was in the flyer.

  26. Katie

Does anyone know what zip code you need to use to find the .55/3 Jello coupon. Thanks

  27. bali

If you print the online Boca coupon from their site, make sure you cancel right after the coupon prints – it’s followed by a huge, ink-hogging ad…

  28. Heather D.

I could not find There’s Something About Mary DVD, but I did find two DVD that had double feature $10 and triple feature $15 with There’s Something About Mary in it. I choose the double feature “In Her Shoes” and “There’s Something About Mary” and took to cashier with $3/1 coupons.com. It was accepted by the cashier and went through without beep.

  29. Julie

Not sure if anyone has left a comment about this yet, but the $1/1 Gain detergent works on Gain dish detergent! My Target had a sale on it for $1.75, so only 0.75 after coupon!

  30. robyn

there is a target colgate coupon on the website, if anyone didn’t get the regional coupon (like me!)
and collin, i was wondering about the glade room sprays link for the $1 off coupon on right@home website? i am seeing a $2/2, not a $1/1?

  31. manyhats0211

I liked the movie but I didnt read the book so I may not like it after I read the book

  32. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Went to Target this afternoon and Hamburger, Chicken, and Tuna Helper were on sale for $1. I had 2 $.50 off coupons and was able to get 2 boxes for $1!

  33. Celeste

Eat, Pray, Love is on sale at select Target stores for $9, so with the coupon and rebate offer, it makes it only $1!!! Sale ends 1/19, so get to Target and get a rain check if they are out!
