My little girl has constipation issues so this is perfect for meeting her needs. Thanks!
Same with my daughter. And it seems only Miralax can help, but it is SO expensive! These samples and coupons will help! Thanks!
Sariah & Kristi, how old are your daughters? I have a 3 year old little girl that has major constipation issues too and have to use MiraLax to help keep her regular. This is my first child and this whole constipation issue has me totally boggled. Just wondering what you guys use as far as dosage goes? I have a hard time finding a happy medium between constipated and diarrhea for her. Thanks for any help!
My little one (2 year old DD) has issues with constipation as well and our Dr. recommended half a cap full. HTH! 🙂
My daughter is 2 1/2 and we started her on Miralax (some times the store brand) almost a year ago. We split her dosage up so she gets 1/2 tsp at night and 1/2-1 tsp in the morning depending on what her bm’s were like the day before. It seems like splitting it up helps balance it out better. Since every kid is different I’d just suggest to experiment a little to see about what size of dosage works the best, and if splitting it up or doing it all at once makes a difference.
Good luck!!
My daughter is 3 and is going to be 4 soon. She is about 32 lbs. She has been using Miralax for the past year. We give her 1 Tbs in 4 oz of gatorade every morning. It works really well. Almost too well. I have recently been giving her just 1/2 tbs and it was not enough. She got backed up. So, I went back to the 1 Tbs. I think I may try 3/4 Tbs soon. I may even try splitting the dose into morning and evening. Pediatric Gastro Doc said not to worry about overdosing. He said that you cannot overdose cause their system does not absorb the medicine. It’s always good to ask your doc though before you try something new.
Hi,
My 16 mo old is also constipated big time. We give him Miralax as well as Metamucil but it doesn’t help much. Any other tips/suggestions would be truly appreciated. Its so hard to see him cry and scream when he has to go 🙁 🙁
If anyone has a Kroger store, theres a $5.00 coupon at coupons.com for the 30 dose. I used 77477. Unfortunately, I have no Kroger around here. 🙁
also…just printed a Target Web coupon at Target for another $2.00 off 8.3 oz. or large
r Miralax digestive aid item
Are you guys giving your children a multi vitamin? I noticed when I started giving my son a multi vitamin he was constipated. I took him off of the multi vitamin and he is no longer constipated. I might start him back on the vitamins every other day to see what happens. I hate seeing him in pain:(
My daughter had really bad constipation issues last year and ended up at the ER. This is what the Dr there and pediatrician told me to use. It worked and I keep this on hand in case she needs it again.
My son had constipation problems several years ago. Miralax was only by prescription then. His pediatrician said to use the prescribed does of miralax and adjust as needed. He also said to cut his milk consumption back to no more than 12 oz a day. We had great success with that. He has now grown out of the problem, so we don’t have to cut back on milk or use miralax.
I have recently been dealing with constipation issues for my 2 1/2 year olddaughter. It is good to know she is not the only one going through it. I thought something terrible was wrong with her b/c she was only going once a week if that. She didn’t complain about pain at first so I didn’t pursue it. Then she started screaming and complaining abot the pain. Her doctor said to do the Miralax everyday as well, but he also put her on a very strict diet that I am having trouble with. He said no dairy (except a little reg milk and yogurt), no gluten (which is in everything!!!!), and no P to the power of 4 foods (pre-packaged, pre-sweetened, pre-colored, and pre-flavored) I am having a very hard time feedng her, she can’t have anything! I don’t know if it will work yet as we have only been doing it for a week, but it hasn’t helped so far.
It took about 4 days for the miralax to kick in for my son. He also only went once a week. I was only told to cut the dairy to 12 oz per day (all he drank was milk – lots of it). It softened his stool, but he was still afraid to go, because he was afraid it would hurt. It took a couple of months to get the dosage right and to overcome his fear.
