Well, a House Party is thousands of parties across the country, hosted by people like us. Each event is sponsored by a leading brand (such as Kraft) and focuses on something cool that the sponsor wants its best fans to experience firsthand and share with their friends. Basically a House party let you share the products you like with all your friends, free of charge! Companies love to promote these type of events because it spreads the word about their products.

I did do the Green Works party last year and got similar items, except I got handi-wipes and a water bottle in addition to the other stuff. I am also picked for the Ultimate Sandwich party this time, Got my package a few weeks ago and am excited.
Somehow, the 2nd one I applied to, I got! I am also set to throw a Green Works Party on the 16th of April. I should be getting that same pack of things soon. I’m trying to not make it a huge party deal though, as I know some of my friends will just come and go quickly. It does take some planning though, but their site has fun tips and help for you to plan it!
I was chosen to host a Pampers Easy Ups party! They sent us a bunch of Easy Ups samples, potty/reward charts, coupons, parent guides, & stickers! It was so nice of Pampers!!
i hosted the shutterfly house party in the fall and now will be hosting the singer sewing party in may! i’ve also been to a friend’s huggies pull-ups party. house party is great!

I was chosen to host the Ultimate Sandwich Makeover Party, too! I signed up about a month ago and have been chosen to host two parties. I thought it would be difficult and a hassle to send out invites etc… but you just have to set up your page by a certain time and you can send the invites later.
I just got chosen to host the Weight Watchers Ice Cream Party 🙂 It’s my first house party so I’m super excited, and I have a whole bunch of friends who want to come just for the free ice cream 🙂
I just got my party pack for the Tapena Wine and Tapas party! They sent an Amex gift card to buy the wine, a Tapas cookbook, napkins, rubber wine charms, word magnets for the fridge, napkins, game ideas, and rebates for the wine. SO looking forward to this party!! WOOP!
How much is the gc for? Have you priced out the wines yet? I’m so anxious for my goodies to get here!!!! Thanks in advance!!!!
The gc is for 25…the wine is less than 10 per bottle. I’ve seen some places at 7.99 and others at 9.99. They also include a rebate for your wines. Hosts get $12 off of 3 bottles, 30 off of 6 bottles and 66 off of 12 bottles. It’s different for guests’ rebates. Much less but as cheap as the bottles are, it’s something. You DO have to send off for the rebate, though. I have someone who will make one of the tapas and bring it to the party and another willing to bring some stuff and we will make ours together. Should be fun! =) Oh, and you also get a wine opener in the pack, too! =)
How many people are you inviting?
I always write that I can’t have 10 people. Do you think it might be a reason why I am never chosen ?
I think I put 15-20, what I planned on doing since I live in a small subdivision I was going to make little gift packs and hand out before the party to all my neighbors, that way they will be able to try the laundry detergent before the party.
I think you’re supposed to have 10-19 people come to the party.
Yeah, on the day of the party everyones coming over for snacks & stuff, to discuss how they liked the green works laundry detergent. Also I’ll be giving goodie packs at the actual party. I’m super excited this is my first one…I’m hoping to get chosen for more.

I have applied for about 6 of these parties and never been chosen. I give really good answers too and somehow never get chosen. I think it is a strange website. I know it’s free stuff. But I see women on here saying they’ve hosted numerous events. I also see women on here who have been applying for a long time and never chosen. I don’t know how they choose, but it can’t be your answers. I quit trying a few weeks ago b/c I got tired of filling out the long application only to be told I didn’t get it. No thanks for that. I will just buy the stuff and have a party myself! LOL!
I started to sign up for the Bic one yesterday and then the huge waiver of Liability thing scared me, so I didn’t follow through with it. I probably am just paranoid. Who knows.

I got my greenworks kit today… I was actually quite disappointed 1 wipe per guest? and the coupon says can’t be combined and it’s for the 2 more expensive brita pitchers… I was so excited and then felt deflated.
I kinda feel the same way. This is my 1st party and I was expecting more items for my guests. But oh well, it’ll still be fun. Will just try to make the best of it!

I agree!!! I was hoping for a Q for a free product. Would be nice for people to try it at the party and then at home. I feel like I can’t even really demonstrate how nice the wipes are without taking away someone’s measly free wipe!!!!
I agree. I was expecting at least a coupon for a free dish soap or something. Oh well, shouldn’t complain, it’s all good. I am trying to not make it a big deal for my guests. To just bring what they can for swapping and then we will eat, laugh and maybe play a few games. Lots of people are busy this time of year so hard to get some to commit. I figure whoever comes is great and if they don’t no biggie. I can still get the coupons and samples to them later.
I recently did the Philadelphia Cooking Creme Hose Party. I had totally forgotten that I even applied for it and was not ready (remodeling) to give a party. But, I knew that since I was chosen … I better buck up and take it on. So I had the party and it was great! Just remember that if you apply and and are chosen, you are obligated to give a party if you agree … they prefer the selected date also. Have Fun Everyone!

I have a bunch of guests coming now for sandwiches, at first no one responded 😉 We are doing half of ours gluten free since a few of my friends and I have celiac disease. I was chosen to host the Singer Sewing Machine Party. I know the basics of sewing and I am hoping this way I can learn more! The list of products that I am going to be receiving is HUGE! Plus I can buy the sewing machine at 20% off!! So excited!
I applied for this party too but wasn’t picked. I was bummed. If you or anyone else isn’t going to use the 20% coupon I would love to have it. I need a machine, mine broke after 15 years of heavy sewing.
I’m also hosting the Green Works party & received my party pack today. It will be my first House Party. I thought there would be more to give to my guests, but my white chili with chicken will have to make up for it 🙂 I won’t see everyone prior to the party so I am making a little gift bag with all of the samples & coupons to give out at the party.
We have hosted a few parties in the past couple of years. Our favorites were the Domino’s American Legends party where we got a gift card to order 6 or 7 pizzas and more recently, the Zatarain’s party. Our family and friends loved the Zatarain’s products and it coincided with my husband’s 30th birthday.
I have an application in for the Captain Morgan’s party on the over 21 site; keeping fingers crossed!

I was chosen for a coffee mate party and a Martini Party within a couple of weeks of eachother. I had tons of fun hosting both parties – since then have not been chosen again but I keep trying 🙂
I received my Green Works Party Pack yesterday and I have to say that I was slightly dissapointed as well! This is my first House Party and I thought I would have more “goodies” to give my guests! I was also chosen for the Weight Watchers House party. This will be my first one as well. I’m still a little unsure about the entire process and I hope the people that say they are going to come actually show up. I hate to blow it on my first party!
I just got my kit for the Tapena wine and tapas party! It came with a cookbook of delicious tapas, lots of rebates for wine, plus a $25 gift card to purchase the wine. There were also party napkins and cute little wine charms. I also got chosen to host the Durex Girl Talk party a few months back, with lots of *fun* favors received in the mail! House party is awesome!

I signed up for the Clorox Clean Works party….I was really interested until it asked if I drank alcohol, I dont and would want it in my home, I know plenty of people do, dont mind, just not in my home. At the end of the survey it asked me to confirm that I would allow alcohol consumption in my home…I didnt, of course, and it would not let me go any further! What the heck? We cant get together and talk about cleaning products without getting wasted? I am not longer intersted in a house party. I was very dissapointed.
That’s weird. I said I don’t serve alcohol and I was approved. Maybe a lot of people that had already applied were non-drinkers and they were looking for a wider audience at that point?

I thought the same thing bc I got the email that I needed to register while out to lunch with my boss. I thought for sure by the time I got around to my computer the people would already be chosen. I came home about 7 that evening got on and signed up. To my surprise I got accepted so keep trying! 🙂
I hosted my first House Party back in Feb for the Oscars, with Freschetta! I received 6 FREE Freschetta coupons to purchase and serve the night of my party, an oven mitt, pot holder (both of those I gave away during Oscar trivia!), and my guests each received a $3 coupon and a pizza wheel.
I’ll definitely apply again, but want to wait a while to not seem greedy! But it was so much fun!

I’m hosting a Green Works party as well. This is the fourth party I’ve been selected for (Pull Ups, Ziplock, Shutterfly previously). A friend had the Bare Minerals party a few weeks ago and the pack was SAD!! One small sample and only a 20% off coupon. Past packs have been good. Shutterfly was by far the best – everyone got a free photobook and a set of 12 cards for free – worth $60!
Just got my party pack today – not impressed! Past parties have been MUCH better. There are only a few samples for guests and the coupons are sad – and only redeemable at Lowes (other than the burts bees). Not to be greedy, but this amount of “stuff” isn’t much worth spending money to throw a party or to have people take the time to come to one – better suited to hand out in passing.
My most recent House Party to be chosen for is the Tapena Wine Party! Remember Collin’s post about being coupon savvy when purchasing alcohol!?! You can’t beat free! Party pack should be arriving tomorrow! Can’t wait to share drinks with our friends at our party this weekend!

I have hosted 2 House Parties, the EA Active 2 for PS3 and a DiGiorno Pizza Hoops party. I received the entire EA Active system for PS3, a ton of sport towels, coupons. Then for the DiGiorno I got 8 coupons for the new Pizzas with the cookies, wings or breadsticks, along with plates, potholder, spatula, noisemakers, favors, coupons. I love doing House Party, you get such great free stuff!!!
How do they know that you aren’t just going to keep all the coupons/samples for yourself?
