CVS: FREE Scott Toilet Paper Single Rolls
Alright, so I have a rockin’ deal on Scott toilet paper to tell you all about… but before dishing, I want to quickly share how awesome my Facebook buddies are! 😀 You see, I was a little hesitant to post this deal due to the coupon stating “Not valid on trial size”. I wasn’t quite sure if a single roll was in fact trial size, so I opened this question up to my fans and got a plethora of answers – all basically concluding the same thing – a single roll of toilet paper is in fact not trial size.
Here are some of the answers I received:
I say a trial size is a little roll that’s the size of a toilet paper cardboard holder-thing. (technical term) I think Charmin comes in this size if you know what I mean.
Single roll is not trial. Trial is VERY small, in travel section to take with you in your purse.
They make tiny rolls and sell in the trial size section… they are not a full size roll, maybe like an 1/8th of a roll… I take them camping when I go.
I say no, a single roll is not trial size. Trial size is a small amount of a product given or bought to see if you like it before you purchase an entire package. Considering most drug stores sell single rolls in the toilet paper isle and NOT in the travel section.
So, now for the rockin’ deal… CVS has the single rolls of Scott Bathroom tissue on sale for $1 this week – which means FREE bathroom tissue! Here’s how:

* I am guessing other stores sell the Scott single rolls for around the same price, so you may be able to score a similar deal at other store too!

I think the single roll would be the trial size since scott doesn’t make anything smaller

I would not consider one roll to be trial sized because they sell single rolls of paper towels and we don’t call those trial sized…just saying
Just curious…. the coupon states “redeemable at Dollar General”. Wondering how your store handles that? As our stores here WILL NOT honor a coupon that states it’s redeemable somewhere. Now if it just had the logo that would be a different story.

Yeah, and I’m in Michigan where they don’t have the $1 off 1 so I then check ebay where there are only the $1 off 8 or $1 off 1 at Dollar General. Hmmm, does CVS or other drug stores price match?
It also says Manufacturer coupon so you can use it anywhere! It’s not a store coupon

This is probably a YMMV deal. Honestly I don’t think a big roll is trial size since Charmin makes the half roll. I’ve never seen a Scott roll that size, but that doesn’t mean they don’t make it.
look it up online… the smallest is the single roll. I think someone should email the company before I feel comfortable doing this deal
Its a single roll, not a trial sz. Coupons have read excludes single rolls in past. Maybe they r referring to the little travel scotts wipes.
Your coupon would be put to better use at Jewel, where the Scott catalina promotion is running again for another couple of weeks (same deal as the early May one): buy one product from each category (toilet paper – paper towel – flushable wipes) and get a buck OYNO for each. I’ve been picking up the wipes ($1.99 by me), using the .50 coupon from 6/19 S and a single roll of toilet paper. Total comes out to about $2.51 and you get back the $2 cat. Roll that cat into the next transaction and you are then getting one roll of tp and one wipes refill for about fifty cents. You could also pick up pt and tp with NO coupons and pay about a buck.

I agree, even though its free….its still just ONE roll, wouldnt it be better to get $1 off a great sale and have more than one roll?! Just sayin……however maybe your taking a camping trip! lol

Thanks for posting this…. but the coupon (like so many coupons) must be regional, in South Florida we got 3 Scotts Coupons but none are $1/1…maybe next time.
yup thats what I said. I’m in South FL but that week I also got FL Today (Melbourne) and Orlando Sentinel- those didnt have it either.
My paper had both the 3 coupons on one page and then the one on the next…guessing due to a dollar general in my area.

No, it is a manufacturers coupon (starts with 5), also it is labeled on the top. I don’t believe it matters where you use it.
“Redeemable at” = “You may redeem at”. It does NOT mean ONLY redeemable at DG, just possibly redeemable there. If it was only redeemable at DG the wording would be “Redeem only at” or something like that. They tell you it’s redeemable at DG, but it’s also redeemable at Wags, Wal-Mart, CVS!!!! …or wherever. Like other people have said it’s a manufacturer’s coupon!
this is of subject of the scotts coupon but the coupon on target . com for the hot wheel does that mean I can use this coupon anywhere it says manufacturers coupon but in the small print it says redeemable at target only . the coupon starts with a 5 .
Why does your coupon say dollar general?
Mine was for 8 rolls too. $1/1 and I have Washington DC papers as well as Tampa, FL. They usually get AWESOME coupons so I’m surprised I didn’t get it!
if you go look in your travel size section in your walmart or whichever store you will find trail size charmin a single roll isn’t a trial size. if you don’t feel right doing this deal then don’t do it…just my 2 cents.
Where did that coupon come from? I don’t think the coupon in the picture was from 6/19 SS, mostly because no one on here, myself included, has it, and the coupon pictured says “Redeemable at Dollar General”. Just trying to figure out where I can lay my hands on a few…

like she said, it is an insert coupon. look on ebay there are some there. just because no one posting has seen the actual coupon doesnt mean that what this website is saying isnt true…she is really good about doing her research prior to posting stuff.

DIdn’t get that coupon either (in CA) so I guess I don’t have to worry about if it’s trial size or not. Bummer for me.
Here in Dallas, mine was for $1 off on 8 or more rolls of Scott Extra Soft Bath tissue. And $1 off of four or more rolls of Scott Towels. 🙁

Yes, it is not a dollar general Q, it is a MFR Q, and this deal works great @ Walmart if you have one, since the single rolls are $0.97!
This didn’t come in the Reno area add either.. And I did see her coupon says Dollar General which means it can only be used there!

I got it in SC…Does anyone know how the sale works? Do you have to buy 5 or is it like a grocery store where you could still get 1 for $1?
At CVS, you don’t have to buy 5 items to get $5 price. You can get 1 item for $1.
On the other hand, at Walgreen, if there is a sale “3 for $3”, I believe you have to buy 3 items to get $3 price (NOT $1 each). If you only buy 1 item for the sale, you get charged for regular price.

There’s a better deal on Scott Products at a lot of grocery stores, producing a catallina $ off your next order coupon. Maybe check and see if any of your stores are included.

I’m new to couponing so I have a quick question. Why does the coupon work at CVS of the coupon says “redeemable at Dollar General”?
Because that just means that you CAN redeem it at Dollar General, not that you have to. When the coupon says ONLY redeemable at Dollar General then you must use the coupon only at Dollar General. Hope this helps! 😉
My CVS won’t take any manufacturer coupon if it has anothers store logo on it reguarlesss of the wording, so you may have to be flexible on this one.
What stores carry the single rolls? I don’t like shopping CVS.

We got it here in NY and its about five pages after the regular Scotts coupons. It takes up a whole page of a dollar general ad basically. It’s a manufacturers coupon that can be redeemed anywhere even though it mentions redeemable at dollar general, not “only”.
I used one at wegmans and it beeped. They pushed it thru. It said coupon exceeds item value and she over rode it then it beeped saying must match item in order. I won’t be using anymore there.
Has anyone tried this and did it beep? I have 39 more coupons and want smooth transactions.
But check again as it’s a ling q that takes whe bottom of page and it’s well after the page with 3 Scotts coups.

Good luck to anyone who actually gets this coupon to work. I am sure if you are on video camera it will work fine but in the real world good luck. I mean come on it is 1 roll of t.p. using a coupon that states “Dollar General”. Kind of ridiculous.

I thought I would let you know they have these same single rolls at the commissary for 69 cents. I asked a worker there and she said they were not considered trial size. So I got free toilet paper with overage!
I got it in The Republic (Columbus, IN) but didn’t in the Louisville Courier Journal (Louisville, KY) or the Indianapolis Star (Indianapolis, IN). Most people around here get The Republic so I’ll be able to get lots of them from the recycle center 🙂
I got it and I m from south TX. I tried to buy the scott tp in one CVS and this mean manager told me he didnt want to accept my coupons because he wasn’t sure even though my coupon went thru…so I went to another CVS and I got my 5 tp free with no problem. My mom tried it at Walmart and her’s went thru there too without problems….
