I was so excited when I got a FoodSaver for super cheap! I think I ended up paying about $25 for one that retails at $150ish. It’s a good thing I didn’t pay full price for it. I personally don’t think it works that great…

  2. phyllis herbinko

i need one of these, i throw away too much food, especially fresh fruits and veggies

  3. ramblingmommy

    These are great 🙂

  4. Nicole A.

Looks like the coupon will only be good for select items on their site, not site-wide. Still good if you need what items they’re offering.

For those of you in “storm” areas, the FoodSaver literally saved hundreds of dollars in food for me. I’ve been using it for 8 yrs. No only does it safely extend the life of frozen food, during Hurricane Frances, I was the only member of my family (and out of many friends!) who didnt lose their food after the storm. Since its air tight it stayed frozen for much, much longer and I didnt lose my entire freezer! If you read and follow the directions it works. Sucking all the air out is key, and putting a piece of papertowel in the top (just below where it seals) if there is some liquid in the meat prevents the machine from damage and helps it seal right. Its also great to buy meat in large quantities (like Costco, Sams, BJ’s…) and freeze. The bags are reusable, you just put them in your diswasher.

  6. cw

Ok so I can’t type. It’s “not only” and “dishwasher” LOL

  7. Michelle

My hubby would love one…. I hope they get enough likes!

  8. Wendy

So about how much would this thing cost at 75% off?

    • Michelle

They have four different options on a link on their page, with the pictures, model numbers and prices. The least expensive would be around 20 bucks it looks like..

  9. Missie

Even if you are not interested in this, please go over and “like” the page and help your fellow Hip2saver. We are sooo close to getting it. Thanks!!!

  10. Anna Chapman

    only 400 more

    • Margie

A little less than 200 more!

  11. Michelle

    It’s over 20k!

  12. Margie

Yay, thank you all…esp. those not planning to use it, but wanting to help others out!

  13. Beth

What do we do now to get the coupon? Ne1 Know?!!

  14. stacy

    wheres the code

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

yes, I am waiting anxiously for the code

  15. lacey

Please share the code if anyone gets it. I haven’t received one yet.

  16. Susan

    Did the code release yet?

  17. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

    It’s at 20,904 likes, where’s the coupon???

  18. L

They said they would release the code soon, so keep watching their wall. They also said to be quick, because it’s a limited number of purchases available.

  19. Hilda

Have been waiting for a long time — since before noon — for the code to be released! NOTHING!

  20. teena

Site is crashed cuz everyone is going crazy trying to get it. Let’s not lose our cool over a foodsealer or a coupon.

  21. Kate

No code yet. I UNliked them. Has anyone noticed that more and more companies are offering deals to get “likes” and then either not following through or doing so in a way that only rewards a tiny percentage of the people who “liked” them? Facebook should have rules about this — although I suppose they don’t want to annoy possible advertisers. Maybe we should start a list of companies who have promised and not delivered. When you say “at 12:00 pm EST” that’s what it means!

    • Ashley

Patience is a virtue 😉 When the code is released can someone post it please!!

    • Amanda N

I think it’s also important to be patient and not give up just 5 minutes after because they haven’t posted it, yet. You never know the reason – they may be having site problems or whatnot… I just think it’s silly when people get angry and give up and “unlike” a site because they don’t post a code right on the dot….

    • Charlotte

      From the Foodsaver FB page:
“Thank you for your patience. Unfortunately we are experiencing technical difficulties on FoodSaver.com due to the unexpected amount of traffic. We are working through these issues and will announce the coupon code shortly.”

      • Melissa

Unexpected? That makes me go “hmmm”
So it was gimmick? They didn’t believe they’d get that many people so they didn’t get ready for them, is that what they are saying? As of 2:50EST there is still no code, btw.

  22. Daniel

Error – The requested page could not be displayed.
There is a problem with the page you are trying to reach and it cannot be displayed.

There site is down right now even with out the code i cant buy any items. my wife told me we needed some more bags for ours so i tried to get them and that is what poped up.

  23. Dawn

Does anyone have any of the models listed for use with the discount code?
I’m trying to decide between the V3250 and the V2244. The V2244 would be about $12 cheaper, but I think I’m liking all the auto-detect/automatic/wet/dry functions, and assuming there is bag storage in the V3250. Any thoughts?

    • Michelle

If you’re using their “compare” items feature, I found that it didn’t compare correctly – reading the descriptions made it seem that they were pretty similar. Although, I don’t have either of them… just hoping here!

      • Michelle

Ahhh I’m sorry, I misread those model codes – the two higher end ones look similar is what I meant to say!

  24. Michelle

I think I’m having Lowe’s black friday flashbacks.

    • dorinne

LOL! I was thinking that, too! I spent HOURS trying to get the Kitchenaid mixer because, frankly, that was my only shot at being able to afford one any time for the forseeable future. And I struck out! LOL

  25. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

what the code? I hate facebook to many pepole try to throw you off so they can get it.

  26. Laura

I didnt need one of these so I didnt do the whole ‘like’ thing but I do have a question..A lot of times this sort of promo gets out of hand and the company says they didnt expect such traffic (which is completely understandable) – If they were looking for 20,000 people to ‘like’ them in order to get the 75% off coupon why wouldn’t they have subtracted the number of ‘likes’ they had pre-promo from the 20,000 total they were going for and having all those coupons ready to go before starting the promo?

If they had 10,000 likes before this promo they should have had 10,000 codes ready to go.

  27. L

Three hours later and we’re still waiting on that code. Someone said that the code would be limited to the first 50 people to check out, but I don’t know if that is true or not. The FoodSaver FB wall is hilarious.

  28. Pattyk

It would appear this was all a scam. Its now 3 1/2 hours past time and they have yet to post code. Almost 2 hours since their last update. Pretty cruel joke in this economy.

  29. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

    New post from FoodSaver:

I will never buy one from them now, they mucst have had a handfull and sold half of those over the phone at 50% off! Bad business there for such a big company!

  45. Lisa

THANKS COLLIN! I saw the post this morning and followed it on my laptop AND desktop all day and about fell asleep doing it LOL. Okay I work at home so wasn’t that bad, but I snagged one that retailed for $199 for $50 plus bags and paid $65.71 total. I am loyal to your site. Collin you have saved my family and I so much money. A MILLION THANKS!

  46. Lisa

I went to the link they posted on FB and the discount was automatic when I added my product to my cart. I didn’t have to put in a code.

  47. PJ

Too sweet Thanks Robyn. Now they have a 299. model for $97.

  48. stepc

Thank you so much Collin, I snagged mine. I did get mine before they sold out (first 200 only). I got the model v3485 which retails there for 199.99. If you add something to the basket to make it 55 or more you also get free shipping.
I am very pleased to say that with the machine and an extra roll of bags my total was 66.36 shipped. Thanks so much for the heads up.

  49. Liz B

Thanks so much! I still can’t believe I actually got one of the 3485’s for $64.95 shipped! I had just bought a food dehydrator, so this will be a perfect companion to it. I was babysitting granddaughters while I waited, so it was a perfect teaching opportunity about how important it is too be patient. They were as excited as I was, when hours later, I finally got one. Now we’ll be dehydrating and vacuum sealing together.

To those of you who did not get one in time sign up for their email newsletter. They send out promotions and coupon deals fromtiem to time. I got an email that said I could get a foodsaver system for 75% off about 8 months ago. I did buy it too and it works great. I was so happy I signed up for the newsletter, because not even collin had posted about it.(at least I dont remember seeing it on her blog) I think it was only for those who got the newsletter and a special code.
