Here’s what you need to do to increase your chances of snagging free glasses…

* Head over to the Coastal Contacts Facebook page now, “like” them and click on the “Free Glasses” tab to snag the coupon code.

* Then head over to CoastalContacts.com and pick out your favorite frames.

Here’s what a few Hip2Save readers have had to say about this promotion…

I received mine in the mail yesterday from their 10,000 free pairs promo that Collin told us about and please know that I have not taken them off!! I have been wanting a sassy red pair, but didn’t have the confidence or guts to buy them when I went to order new glasses the last time I was at the eye doctors, so I jumped at this offer! I figured I could risk $20 (free glasses, only paid s/h and all of the protective coatings) If I didn’t like them I was not out that much money, no big deal . . . well, I love them!! I can’t believe I paid 9 times more for glasses that I do not like and do not wear, never again!! Thanks Coastal Contacts! BONUS: Coastal Contacts has agreements with certain companies too, that when you purchase their brand, CC will donate a pair of glasses to someone in need! It’s called their “Change the View Project”, check it out! Awesome deal and can only thank you Collin for letting us know about it! Thank you!!

I ordered mine on a Tuesday and got them on Thursday afternoon! I got all 3 protective coatings and paid for the S&H and it was only $23.23 total and I am in <3!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you!!!!!!!!!!

Giveaway Details/Rules

* Only the first 10,000 people will be able to use the coupon code to snag a FREE pair of glasses including the frame and standard 1.5 index lenses (note: you will need to pay shipping/handling charges which will usually range between $10-$15). Keep in mind that if you have received a free pair of glasses from Coastal Contacts before, then you are not eligible for this promotion; limit one free pair per household.

* This promotion is only valid for web orders. If you need help with your web order, call the optical staff at 1-866-333-6888.

* Certain frames are NOT eligible for the promotion. If you see a “Coupons not applicable” message on a pair of frames, then it is excluded from the promotion.

* You will need a copy of your current eyeglasses prescription (it’s different from your contact lens prescription) and your PD measurement. Sometimes your PD will be on your prescription, but if not, watch this instructional video on how to measure it.

* After you have chosen your frames and selected your shipping method, you’ll go to a “Order Review & Payment” page, where you can enter and apply your coupon code. After applying your code, you will see your order total before you choose to check out (remember that you will have to pay shipping/handling charges of $10-$15)

* If you would prefer to order a pair of prescription sunglasses, you can use the coupon code and then you can add a tint to your lenses and simply pay for the cost of the tinting, which is about $30.

* Your free pair of glasses will include the standard 1.5 index lenses, which accommodates up to a -8.00. However, if your prescription is over a + or -2.00, you may want to upgrade to a thinner, lighter lens. If you choose to upgrade your lenses, or have selected progressives, Transitions or a tint, you will see the cost of the upgrade in your order total.

* If you’re not happy with your glasses for any reason, Coastal Contacts will allow one exchange for another free pair at an equal or lesser value. They’ll even pay for the return shipping and send you a return label. Just give them a call at 1-866-333-6888 to make arrangements. Remember to keep your box and all the accessories that came with your order.

(Thanks, Nicole!)

just ordered mine. Hoping they look as good as they do on the site! I need a new pair and I don’t have any insurance benefit yet, so this should be great!!

  2. Yvette

Thank you! I just place my order. I also received my free pair of firmoo.com glasses yesterday. They are so lightweight and pretty. I absolutely LOVE them. I highly recommend them as well.

Keep in mind that if you need bifocals, there will be a $79 additional charge, and I wasn’t able to get any of the better frames for free. I had to pick a $39 pair to get those for free. By the time I added shipping and handling, I had to pay $108 for my “free” glasses. Still cheaper than the last pair I got at Shopko which cost me about $180, and weren’t as nice as the pair I got from Coastal Contacts. For single vision glasses, this will be an awesome deal; for bifocals, you will still save some money but they definitely won’t be free.

try out zenni optical sometime for pricing – I order my high index glasses there and have great luck, but have never known anyone who got bifocals there. My glasses are usually $700+ and from zenni they were $53 shipped, I am on year two of wearing them and LOVE them still!

I got my glasses on Wednesday that I ordered last week and I LOVE them!!!! I got the purple Joseph Marcs, and they are great! I plan to recommend Coastal Contacts to all of my friends and family!!!

I need glasses for sure, but how do you get this deal exactly? I mean, i don’t even know what prescription I need “blind as a bat” perhaps if they have it. haha I’ve been pathetically squinting for years, and I’m only 22, but have never gotten up and done something about it. So where should I start?

    • suzski

Lizz, you’ll need to go to the Optometrist and have an eye exam done….usually runs about $40 or so, if you don’t have it covered as part of your medical insurance. He/she will give you a Rx when you order your glasses. You can also ask the optometrist to measure your eye pupil distance (PD) because a lot of times that is not on the Rx and it is needed for the glasses. Hope this helps!

      • Jennie

Just a word of awareness- the PD is not part of your standard Rx so do not be surprised if you are charged for this measurement to be taken or they are less than thrilled to do it for you. This is a very important component in your glasses being made correctly and if it is incorrect your vision will not be clear. You may also find them charging you if you bring them in to be adjusted after you receive them. Please be understanding if this happens as obviously online purchases of eyewear reduce their revenue and the “extra’s” that used to be included with your in store purchase can no longer be given for free. 🙂

I can’t thank you enough for posting this deal!
My boyfriend needed glasses for a new job he was starting, however we just couldn’t afford them. He had recently had an eye exam done, but we were needing to save up for the glasses.
I was a little hesitant, at first, to spend the $15 for shipping on a pair of glasses that we weren’t sure would work out. After reading the reviews and comments on your page and seeing that the website gave specific measurements and details about the frames, I went ahead with the order. We couldn’t be happier. The glasses fit amazingly and they are working out perfectly!
    Thank you!
