Safeway: $49 Worth of Groceries Delivered for Only $29 (New Delivery Customers Only)

If you live near a Safeway store that offers home delivery of groceries, you may want to check out this offer! ShopAtHome.com is currently offering up $20 cash back (regularly $13 cash back) when you place an order to have your groceries delivered from Safeway (important: the $20 cash back for Safeway online home delivery purchases is for new Safeway online customers; if you have already made a purchase through Safeway’s online home delivery, the cash back is not available!).

Plus, if it’s your first-time to order groceries from Safeway, you’ll snag FREE delivery (a $6.95 value!) with the code EASY7 at checkout. Keep in mind that you are required to order a minimum of $49 worth of groceries to qualify for home delivery. And Safeway will accept digital coupons for online deliveries (simply select and load them onto your Club Card and receive the savings automatically).

At first glance, this may not seem like a great deal; however, consider stocking up on $49 worth of produce and meat & poultry products (items that typically do not have coupons). And to sweeten your savings even more, be sure to look for the online BOGO (Buy One Get One Free) deals. With the $20 cash back through ShopAtHome.com and the BOGO deals, you should be able to snag quite a “hip” deal!

* On a side note, I do not live near a Safeway, so I have never been able to personally take advantage of this offer. If you have any experience with this particular offer, please feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below. Thanks!

Be careful when ordering these promos. The BOGO items do not show the discount in the cart, and if the total drops below $49 they will not deliver.

I tried this deal a few months ago with Vons and inadvertently went below the $49 minimum by a few dollars because I missed the fact that the BOGO items weren’t taken into account. Not only did they cancel my order, they never called, so I waited at home for a few hours for no reason. When I finally called to find out why they hadn’t delivered, they told me they cancelled my order because I had not abided by the terms of the promotion, and there was nothing they could (or would) do because the order was no longer in their system.

The worst part was the pending charges were processed and they did not release from my credit card for 7 days. : (

I have ordered from Safeway.com a few times. The first time the BOGO idea worked. The whole chickens were BOGO so my overall total delivered was somewhere around $20. But the second time the chickens were BOGO it didn’t work. The total after the BOGO deal had to be $49-even with electronic coupons. I was told the total out the door has to be over $50 (or whatever the limit is with the delivery deal you are using). It’s totally impossible to determine the overall weight before hand. The total is determined at the time they ring up your groceries and the literal weight. The last order I got was off by more than $15 due to literal weights. I think I would rather go to the store.

I so wish there was a Safeway around us in New York 🙁

I had no problem doing the BOGO deal. I would just say, make sure you are over the $49 needed for delivery. The worst that could happen is that your order is cancelled. The best is an awesome deal on groceries! If you get your order and the BOGO items are not taken off, either refuse the order or call CS right away. Like I said, I never had issues with my order though. Sounds like a good old YMMV situation!

Be careful and watch your prices! I looked into this last week or so when they sent me an email. Their online prices were a lot higher than what they are in the store. The few products I looked at were enough of a change that it wasn’t worth it, I’d rather drag my 2 kids with me to the store to save some money!

I used Vons and it was higher but got delivery fast, but shop at home, horrible experience, sent several emails never got credit, the couldn’t find my receipt, slow response. Will never ever use shop at home again!

I did this deal last time and had a good experience. I made sure that my total was over $49 AFTER BOGO items as it appeared that my delivery would not be free if my total dropped below that and I wasn’t willing to risk it. I even made sure I was a bit above it, around $51, in case my produce weights were a little lower and might mess up my total. I ordered a ton of meat that was already on a great sale and lots of produce. Shop at Home credited my account with my $20 really quickly. I was extra careful with my total, but ended up saving almost 70% in the end. I was happy!
