I feel the same. I do have to use it from time to time (lovely hot and humid Texas) and it always makes my hair feel nasty, looks good but just has a nasty feel.
I like it for when I’m in a rush out the door, but baby powder works as well.
Oh I love dry shampoo! Especially the suave, it’s a life saver for me.
I dont mean to be snotty, but these are not high-end products. If I can buy it at walmart its not high end to me. It doesnt mean it doesnt work well, but these are drugstore products. I am also to cheap to spend 30$ on a bunch of things that I can just request free samples of. I am sure I will offend someone, but the reality is this is not high-end and not worth 30$..IMO. eek.
Yea. I was SO excited for this box to come out, based on prior boxes, but this one isn’t my fave 🙁 I’ve let others know it would be a wonderful christmas present, lol, but I am not buying it myself, as I have others to spend on right now. The “spring” box is usually a LOT better, while also about $10 more. ALTHOUGH this is still a great value on the products it has. Esp the joico!
I agree. I am getting a little burned out on these companies selling surprise boxes. I feel like it is a way for them to unload crap that wouldn’t sell otherwise! Although this one does look a little better than some.
I was excited to. I guess if you want those products a good deal, but it seems some companies are inflating the prices a bit. If you see the $2.67, then you must see they say around normally $16.67, and that I do not agree with. I can get a box at the beauty store hear and have products I will use, and they will be pricey. When you can score freebie full size with great coupons, this does not seem like a deal.

Is it a good deal? If you’ll actually use the products, yes. The Proeven, provided it really is full sized, is worth this alone. But it’s not even close to being worth the $250 advertised.
Wow! Thank you for doing the math on this deal. I agree this is only a deal if you are going to use all of the stuff anyway. For me I would just be sampling, so I am going to pass.
Where did you find the Joico Revitaluxe at only $8? Everywhere I see it online is $18 and up.
Apparently, I priced a sample of it, when I saw it for $8.00, because I looked again, and it was 1.8 Ounces. $18 is the correct price, you’re right.
No offense, but I think that we would should give Collin thanks, she finds these deals that I would not even begin to know where to look for, there are a few deals that were not for me, and I passed on them, not criticize them…she is just passing on the savings to us, let’s remember that! =D
I agree, Thanks Colin! I do think it would be a good deal for some people. Not everyone clips coupons like a lot of us (me included who prob never pays full price unless absolutely neccessary!:-)) and Colin has a lot of visitors to her site that may find this is a Steal because they are use to paying full price for things or use all the products or most in the box. Its also great to not have to go to a bunch of different stores and just have a present shipped right to your door! 🙂
while I agree, I do think it is important to also give everyone a heads up as to our opinion 🙂 I have been researching this box for a week or so now (I have posted about it before on this blog actually), so while she does a FANTASTIC job of finding AMAZING deals, she obviously cannot spend weeks looking into EVERY detail of each product, every review, the value, etc. So if people want to provide their opinions, their feedback, I think it should be welcomed. I would hate to jump into a deal, because it was posted only to realize it isn’t as great as it seems on the surface. I think that saying it isn’t the BEST deal isn’t different they complaining because it is a diaper deal when you don’t have kids. To each their own…

I ordered this box after not ordering one for ages. I love it. I hadn’t used any of the products before, and I’ve ended up liking several.
Ambiance Dry Shampoo: I like this–it is great for adding volume around the front
Ambiance Wrinkle Reduction Serum–This is ok, nothing special
Ambiance Transforming Cleanser–I use this as a hand cleanser and my poor hands have never been happier
Aveeno Nourish+Moisturize Shampoo–LOVE LOVE LOVE
Aveeno Smart Essentials Moisturizer–Haven’t really gotten into this, but I’ll probably use it on my hands & arms when short-sleeve season comes
Blow Pro Mane Tame Pomade: Again–LOVE LOVE LOVE not gooey at all, doesn’t get sticky or flaky. Perfect for bangs
Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser–Haven’t used
John Frieda Full Repair Root Lift Foam–REALLY adds volume, better than anything I’ve ever tried. Does not cause crunchy hair. Very good for making beachy waves
John Frieda Liquid Shine Glosser–Did not like this, it makes my hair look greasy (maybe I use too much?)
Johnson’s Baby creamy Oil–Very nice scent, nicer than a baby lotion smell
Joico Revitaluxe–Probably my favorite thing in the box. Super moisturizing, but light, and makes my hair feel like silk
NYX Mascara–gave away, I have too many mascaras
Oscar Blandi Dry Shampoo–Another love–it isn’t powdery, and it isn’t wet. It is kind of like a spray deodorant for the hair. Doesn’t make my hair look dried out, and makes my shampoo last a couple days longer than usual
Pixi by Petra eye pen–Did not like this, but the color is very pretty
Vichy Proeven–I don’t have dark spots, so I haven’t used it except to test
If I had the money to spare, I’d buy another box. Or two. I really like it, and I really look forward to the next one they offer. Well worth the money. I love trying new things, high end or low end, it doesn’t matter to me.
I just love the Allure Beauty box, it may not be worth $250 but worth much more than the $29 it costs. There is always a couple of the more expensive items in the box along with regular items. I can’t wait I have been buying them for the last 4 or 5 years, and never been disappointed, the items I don’t like or use I usually give to friends or family who enjoy them.
