This actually only retailed for $99.95 at it’s highest. Still a great deal though!

My mom has this one and I am jealous. There is no mess with the grinder built in. It acts as a carafe and can be left on the counter or table. She paid between $70-80 at Macy’s.

Never mind on the carafe – this glass one can’t be left on the counter.

        What do you mean?

        • Kathi

I believe the glass one is like a regular coffee carafe that can burn your counter if left on (but I’m guessing). There is a similar model that acts like a carafe that they put on your table – like at IHOP. Either way, I think it is a really nice coffee maker and she’s had no problems with it.

Just a heads up. I bought 3 of these last year, 2 for Xmas gifts and one to replace our old grind and brew. I turned out to be very displeased with these and returned ours to the store. since then we see them almost every time we go into the thrift stores. The grinder and filter are separate and so the chute that the grounds drop though to go into the filter gets clogged up very easily because of the moisture. We had to open the top of the machine up and dry all of the components completely to prevent it from clogging and in my opinion it was way to much of a hassle. We have a Melita grind n brew where the grind and filter basket are together and never have to worry about anything clogging. We just dump the grounds out and rinse the basket. Very simple and easy to use. Better homes and gardens makes one that works like the Melita but looks like the Cuisinart priced around 80 at Walmart. We ended up buying one this year for my mother in law since the one we got her last year was too difficult for her to use. Hope this helps.

Also we bought the Cuisinart grind and brew when walmart had their black friday sale and a bunch of stuff was 50% off. We only ended up paying 40 for it witch was a steal in my opinion

oops so sorry i meant we bought the better homes and gardens one at Walmart not the Cuisinart. sorry about that!

Thank you for posting this. I was considering buying one but after reading your reviews and the reviews on Amazon, decided it wasn’t a wise purchase. I love my coffee too much in the mornings and if the coffee maker causes problems, it messes up my whole day. 🙂

I applied for the amazon credit card. It came with a $40 gift card, so I scored this coffee pot for $9.99

This is a fantastic coffee maker. I have the exact same one only with the thermal carafe (which I love b/c my coffee stays hot all day when I prerinse with hot water). It is a lot of clean up, but it is worth it to grind and brew. It just takes a few min. I get mine prepped at night so all I have to do is wake up in the morning to the smell of coffee! But again, if you don’t like to clean, this will prob bother you.
