If you are a newbie to Walgreens shopping, make sure to check out my Walgreens Store guide. …And if the coupon jargon below starts to confuse you, take some time to read through the Coupon Newbie section.

Also, as most of you know, Walgreens released a corporate coupon policy a couple months ago… finally! You can view the policy here. Be sure to print a copy and bring it with you when you shop in case any issues should arise. You can also now print Walgreens Instant Value Coupons online here. *NOTE: If you can find the monthly coupon booklet in-store, save your printer ink.

    Thank You!

  3. Pat

Thank you Collin! Have a great rest of your weekend!

  4. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

You are all very welcome!! 🙂 I Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

  5. MA

Thanks so much for taking time out of your weekend so that we can have our list to shop. 🙂 I likewise hope that *your* weekend is wonderful, as is everyone elses. So generous of you to give of your time so that we can save and have more. We appreciate you!!!

  6. Kacie

There is a Lady Speedstick coupon that came in the box of Colgate toothpaste that you mentioned a couple of weeks ago. I used mine today at Kroger, so I can’t tell you whether there was a size restriction on it or not. But I would think that you could use it this week at Walgreens to get it for 50 cents.

  7. Mary

Thanks Collin! I would be lost with all this couponing without you 🙂

  8. Heather W

There is a $1/2 Speed Stick men or women in my Smart Source today. Says redeemable at Walgreens, but it’s a manu coupon. 1/15 SS

  9. Annie

Yes Thank You!!! You make our lives so much easier!!

  10. Jill

I am new to all of this and still trying to figure everything out. I have a ? about something I frequently see on here (today as well). In the above deal scenario #2, it says: (Exp. 12 / 15). Are you able to use expired coupons somewhere (there aren’t any stores around here that will take them) , or is that just a typo? Or does it mean something else? Thanks much for all of your help.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Oopsie! Sorry about that… it was a typo. I actually meant Exp. 1/15 – I like to warn readers when coupons expire the first day the ad is valid, so they know to use them ASAP. I hope that makes sense! 🙂

  11. ricks48038

Under the ThermaCare, could you explain to me what the “mentral” ones do??? 🙂

    • Andrea C.

      they are for cramps

      • ricks48038

no, that’s what “menstral” ones are for, I’m asking about the “mentral” that are listed in the deal…

        • Susan

          Probably a typo…

        • Anne

It is so obvious it is a typo…….she forgot an ‘s’. Geez.

          • ricks48038

yes it is obvious, thought people might have a sense of humor…geez…

            • Debbie

I love the idea of pain relief for the mind. Maybe there could even be ones with specific targets- work, kids, traffic, etc

    • AngieS

Pain relief for the mind… while trying to decide which store to shop at first 🙂

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

LOL! 😀 Oopsie… gonna go fix that typo now. 😉

  12. Tera

I am pumped to head to Walgreens this week! They just put herbal essence and pantene on clearance at my local walgreens…and I believe there are some covergirl cosmetics on clearance too! Whooo! Thanks Collin and everyone else for sharing your savings secrets!

My Walgreens had clearance Pantene and the 50% off the second this week and using 2 of the $3 /2 coupons netted me 4 bottles for $1.98!!!

  13. Aurora Ramirez

I don’t know if some regions get this paper like we do but Dfw (dallas, Fort worth) areas get a “al dia” which is a spanish paper and they have there own p&g coupons and a smart source which have speedstick coupons for 50 cents off one.

    • LL

Hi Aurora, I just discovered ours here in the valley it’s called Vive en el Valle. They sure have some great cpns and the paper is free. Love it! We got some $2 Pedisure cpns this week in there and there’s a $1 Target cpn. Thinking this may be free or really cheap!

  14. Joy H

I have had some issues at Walgreens lately and I need some clarification. I want to do the first scenario with the Lysol and Viva Paper towels. I have a register rewards. My question is this:

If I buy the Lysol hand soap and the 2 packs of Viva Paper Towels and use the $3/1 for the Lysol and the $.50/2 for the Viva do I have to get a filler to use my register reward? The last time i was at Walgreens they told me that any coupon that takes an amount of 2 items counts as 2 coupons. I never had that happen before. Thanks

    • angel

Here is a walgreens calculator- It works great for figuring out if you need filler items ornot! 🙂 It will highlight in red if the transaction does not work! 🙂
I am horrible with the filler items, so I will run a quick shopping trip through here, and it has saved me numerous times already!

        • Joy H

First Thank you very much. I put it all in and even with the $.50/2 coupon and using my $ register reward it doesn’t alert me that I am over. I really don’t think a single coupon that states .50/2 counts as two coupons.

          • Kristen

It may vary by store/coupon, but every time I have tried to use a $x/2 coupon it has counted as two coupons. I have only tried it a few times because it gets embarrassing, but at my Walgreens at least, they seem to count as 2 coupons (same for $x/3 coupons, etc.).

            • Tiffany

It actually goes by the number of coupons to items when shopping at walgreens. This has been true with all of the the Walgreens I have shopped at in VA for several years and even every grocery store I have shopped at and used catalina $ off coupons along with manf. coupons… As long as you have ATLEAST two items you would be able to use the register reward and the $/2 coupon without any beeps unless you miscalculated because the coupons and register rewards will not carry over to deduct from your tax (you cannot exceed the pre tax amount). Good Rule of thumb to remember is that at Walgreens is to count your items. If you have more manufact. q’s than items, then your transaction will not work and you will need filler items. (this includes register rewards and excludes coupons from the weekly ad and monthly q book)

Another good tip is to hand over the RR first (my regular walgreens actually prefers it)… then your other manf. coupons and last hand over the wags coupons bc they will auto adjust if needed (because you are not supposed to have overage with wags) I have found out the hard way in the past that ocassionally even if your pre tax amount is equal to or even a little more than the amount of the RR you are trying to use, sometimes it will beep (even if you do not have more coupons than items) and alot of cashiers will just tell you that you cannot use the RR and not bother to get a manager.

        • Julie

Thanks for putting the link to that wags calculator. I hadn’t seen that before. I think I will use that a lot to get a good idea of what I am going to be spending after it is all said and done.

    • Elizabeth

yes u do need a filler

    • coupon connie

Yes, the 50/2 is attached to both of your paper towels, therefore you will need a filler.

    • Molly

Is there any way to print it smaller or delete fields that were not used?

  15. angel

FOR THIS DEAL with the mulit vitamins:
Spend $15 on Participating Sinus, Digestive, Cold, Pain Relief and MultiVitamins = $5 RR

Can you use the $1/1 One a day Multi Vitamin (50-200ct) from the Answers by Walgreens Vitamin and Mineral supplemens book?

Which would bring it down to $6.45 plus 5 RR- Making it $1.45 for all 5?

    Thanks! 🙂

    • angel

Just to clarify that is a Walgreens coupon $1/1 One a Day Mulit. Vitamin from W. Vitamin book- Can it be combined with the $2/1 manu. Q. AND the RR deal to get $5 RR after spending $15.

Anyone know if this will work? TIA 🙂

    • Rachael

I think that the coupon in the vitamin booklet is a manufacturer and can’t be combined with another manufacturer.

      • angel

Ohhh bums! It totally looks like a walgreens q, even ways Wcoupon Good at Walgreens.

BUT in tiny, tiny writing I just noticed “Manufacture coupon good only at Walgreens”

        Thanks! 🙂

        • Melissa

Angel, those coupons in the vitamin book are Walgreens coupons. Your deal scenario should work just fine!

          • katee

no they are manufacturer coupons…they start with a “5” which means they are manufacturer coupons, if they were wags coupons they would start with all 0’s

  16. Lindsey

Kind of a slow Wags week but I always snag a couple heat wraps when I can get them for free!!

  17. Aurora Ramirez

and softsoap coupons for 40. off not size restrictions 🙂

    • Rachael

My soft soap coupon from the 1/1SS states over 8 oz, so I can not use. Where did you get your coupon?

    • Gil

Watch in your Publix stores for .50 peelies on Softsoaps too! (Think dbling)
I received a Target coupon booklet the other day & there was a Softsoap Q in it too-so FREE SSoap today!
Kroger price with the .40 Q is 8 cents 🙂

  18. Taraneh

does anyone know anything about Abrexin, the one that’s free this week after RR? I’m interested in it but can’t find much about it online….

    • Taraneh

and just to clarify, I’m only asking about the Abrexin….not about how to lose weight, so JIC u were thinking of suggesting I work out or eat better, I do both. but I’m a full time education student (so I’m always observing classrooms) and work full time so my personal time is extremely limited and it’s hard to eat healthy when I’m never at home. I’m just considering this as like a last ditch option to use for like a month to drop a few pounds that I’ve gained in the past year….weight loss supplements just make me kind of nervous so if anyone has tried this or knows anything about this I’d appreciate anything you could tell me about it.
      thanks!!

      • Heather W

It’s so sad that when you are just trying to get some information on a product you have to put all of that! I don’t know anything about the product, but I hope you can get some information without anyone saying any of that rude stuff to you!! 🙂

    • Grace

log on to their website “abrexin.com” to read all about it.

  19. Sara P.

Don’t forget there was also a $3/3 nabisco cp in last Sundays SS. Sales at my store start registering on Saturdays as they prep for Sundays deals, so I was able to get 3 boxes of ritz crackers (2/$4 after $1/2 wg cp) and 3 triscuts (2/$4 as well w/ wg cp) total was $12 minus 2) $3/3 cps paid $6. So I got them for $1 ea!

    • Elissa Ropp

I was totally thinking about those $3/3 Nabisco coupons! I was thinking about this scenario–Buy 6 boxes of, say, Wheat Thins. Use 2 $3/3 coupons and the Wags coupon from their January book ($1/2). Final price–$1 each!

Woo! My family llllooooovvvves Wheat Thins!

      • Amy

I was thinking to do the same. $1 is a great price. Most of the time they have the small boxes for that price. And another nice thing is that it is not an RR deal so you can buy as many as you want in one tran.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks for the reminder on this *HOT* regional coupon! 🙂 Just added to the post.

  20. Lori

“ThermaCare pain relief neck, wrist, shoulder or mentral HeatWrap single pack $2.49 = $2.49
    Final cost FREE!”

Could you explain how this one works? Thanks Sorry if it’s there and I’m just not reading it right

    • Catherine

You get that amount back in Register Rewards.

    • LIzR

Essentially, you buy thermacare on sale for $2.49, you pay $2.49 +TAX…then you get a register reward valued at $2.49 printed. You use it on your next purchase. HTH

  21. jenn

question: In reference to the Lysol deals for this week. Does anyone know if I can use a $1/2 coupon for each pack of wipes or do I have to purchase 2 packs (which is 4 containers) to use that coupon?

    • MelissaA

You would have to purchase 2 packs to use that coupon.

  22. Gil

Lysol deal just made me think of that KILLER HOME DEPOT Lysol mistake deal months ago.
Anyone remember that? They had 12 huge cans pricing on line for the cost of 1 can!
Folks ordered for local store pick-ups and they had to honor their price.

    • Kate

I remember that! I ordered some, but they didn’t honor the price for me 🙁

  23. Reuben Rosas

On walgreens.com they have a $5.00 coupon for the estroven.

    • Pat

      Where do you see that?

    • marie

The estroven coupon on walgreens.com is for the 28-40 ct.

  24. Carol_R

    Thanks for the match-ups Collin!

  25. Lisa

    Would this work? – Buy 8 – Lysol wipes, $3 – total $24 – used 4 – 1$2 coupon total 20$ Pay plus get 6$ RR so – 14$ for 14$ wipes? Does that work?:) Thanks collin!

  26. Pat

Does anyone have an extra South Beach coupon? I was too late to get the coupon a few days back. Thanks! =)

    • madison

I do I printed two thinking I would use them and now I have decided not to,, would you like them?

  27. LaToya

I have some Thermacare manufacturer coupons that printed out at Wags before that I can use to get this to be a MM. However, do the manufacturer coupons that print out at Wags still allow you to get the RR? I think I recall someone saying that they made it not work if it was the kind that printed out there from the CAT machine. But it says manufacturer coupon and it’s not a RR.

    • Melissa

You may want to check the restrictions on the coupon- the one I got from Wags catalina was for the 2 count. The RR sale is for the 1 count Thermacare.

    • cathy

I turned around and purchased more Thermacare with the $2.00 coupon that printed out, from the machine and got the $2.50 register reward. So, I paid, $.50 after the $2.00 coupon, and received the $2.50 register reward.

  28. Susie

I still have the B2G1Free coupon for boxes of Nabisco crackers – that would work for this scenerio wouldn’t it? Making it $3 for 3 boxes?

  29. LuAnn

I’m having trouble finding the Brita pitcher $10 mail in rebate form. The link takes you to their site and to their water challenge, but I can’t find the rebate form. Does anyone know where it is?

  30. rocio

there was a coupon inside the box of colgate total advanced that you mention a couple weeks ago for a 1.00 off any speed stick or lady speed stick so after using two coupons and RR total $0.50 cents each!

  31. Ashley

When I bought the tylenol heat patches last week a $2 off catalina printed out! That will be a $2 money maker this week! yay! I love when that happens!

    • Ashley

NM, its $2 off 2ct or larger 🙁

  32. Holly

Shopped late tonight (7 pm) and they already had tomorrows ad set which means I got the Nabisco and Jimmy Deans deals tonight. Yay I never coupon and figure this stuff out on my own. I might just start waiting until late saturday night to go from now on and get 2 weeks done in one trip and the store was empty.

  33. Dana

The Vicks Nature Fusion $4/1 mailer arrived a few weeks ago, which sweetens the Vicks scenario, especially if you have more than one. I believe it expires 1/31?

  34. sara

Were the lysol coupons from 1/1 regional? I am not seeing any in my inserts…

    • Dana

Yep, they were regional. I was bummed I didn’t receive the Lysol Touch coupon 🙁

  35. Judy

There is a $2/1 Coupon (exp 2/15/12) in the January All You Magazine (pg.8) for a Bic Multi-Purpose Lighter. So match that up with the 2/$6 sale on Bic Multi-Purpose Lighters this week in the ad and that should make for a $1 Bic Lighter 🙂

  36. Coupon Assassin

There’s a $1 coupon for VIVA 6 roll packs or larger in today’s SS!!!! Makes the deals even sweeter!!!

    • Debbie

I got that coupon too! Yay!

    • Nicole G.

me too! i was excited, we never seem to get the higher value coups here!

  37. Kat

Question…Can you use coupons plus RR in a transaction for another (different) item that is a deal to print out RR? Wasnt sure about this after readin the policy. Thanks.

    • Jill

Yes, as long as the items are not from the same manufacturer. If you have a RR from P&G, for example, you would not be able to use it on another P&G register reward deal (even if it was a different P&G product). Hope that helps.

  38. Tampa Couponer

Is anyone else having a problem with the One-a-day vitamin deal? At my Wags only the 200 count is ringing up at $4 off. Thanks

  39. Jennifer

I don’t know if anyone uses Aleve, but it’s the only thing my mom can take for her joint pain. Anyway, if you have a couple of the $5/2 aleve coupons from last weekend’s paper, you can buy 4 Aleve 50 ct. at around 3.99 (after the WAG $3 off sale) and use 2 of the $5/2 coupons. You should pay about $6 OOP and then get a $5 RR. This makes the aleve only about $0.50 for a 50 ct bottle.

  40. letra

Not sure if I’m getting something wrong here, but I’ve been unable to locate coupons that are alleged to be in the SS’this means smart source…right?

    • Mish

Yes. However, some coupons are regional, which means they will only be found in the Smart Source inserts in certain areas of the country. In my area I miss out on coupons all the time. If you’re really interested in a coupon, you can always order on from an online clipping service (which will charge a small fee per coupon).

  41. Allison

If i bought an estroven pm and used to rr for the dietary supplement that is free with rr could i continuously roll those over? I want to do the estroven deal but I don;t beed anything else in the ad but I don’t want to be embarrassed in wags either!

    • Danielle

Yes, go back and forth with the Estroven and Abrexin. I did this a couple weeks ago with the Sam-e and the Lichi Probiotic. Don’t need the probiotic, but I use sam-e, and it’s a little bit expensive. Just had to pay tax. I ended up with six boxes of each. Wish I had more time on that one. Would have loved to stock up for a whole year.

      • Tami

I did the same thing! I was really surprised that they have put several high dollar RR deals together so you CAN go back and forth. Was going to do that this week with the Estoven and Albrexin but my store has neither. May not get either one!

  42. Rachael

Just got back from wags. The one a day vitamin deal did not work. The vitamins did not ring up $4 off and when they tried to lower the price, the register reward did not print. Also they were already out of the Estroven pm early this morning. So I went to the website to check which nearby wags have the Estroven pm in stock, and it did not even come up like something that they sell. Hopefully others found them at their stores.

  43. jamie

My 1/15 SS has $1/1 Viva 6 roll or more

  44. Nancy

There is a $1 RR printing for me at several Walgreens in NC for the Vitamin Water. I bought 3 @ $4 less $1 in ad Q. Paid $3, then got $1 RR back, so final price was 3 for $2.00.

  45. melissa

Did anyone else get the $1.00 on 6 or more rolls of paper towels in the 1/15 SS?

  46. Sonia

Quick question! I wanted to get the brita rebate form and I followed the link but I just couldn’t find the form. Is there a better link or have they removed the $10 rebate…? Does anyone know? I have been wanting to get one and getting it very cheaply would make my week! Thanks!

  47. nicole
