  4. Coupz

Thanks!I just ordered the Tote & toy from Kohls Cares for donation a few weeks ago. I was looking for ways to donate to some Breast Cancer center and for children. While I am posting this, Can anybody please tell me if I can donate some Medicines and bath items to some center. I am here in NJ. TIA!! 🙂

    • Joy

On the same note, please ask the center if you can donate candy, especially to the kids units. Chemo leaves a metal taste in your mouth and sometimes sugar candies (like suckers) can help get rid of the taste, and what kid doesnt love candy.

      • Coupz

Good idea. Ya I forgot about candy I have a lots of candy as well. Thanks so much!!

    • Candy N

I wish you were closer to me Coupz (I’m in NC)! My son’s school is gearing up for a missions trip to the Dominican Republic and they are in need of medicines (they can use anything really but they mentioned vitamins, anti-fungal ointment, and Tussin DM), bath items, toothpaste, toothbrushes, etc. I went through my stockpile last night and donated a bunch of stuff but I didn’t have a lot of medicines/vitamins.

      • Coupz

That sounds good! Can I somehow mail the meds to you or their school. I am not sure how much it will cost. I will find out soon. But at least they won’t go waste. If you can email me the you mailing address my email is gajuchat @ gmail dot com.

    • Valerie

Not sure where in NJ you live, but call your local Visiting Nurse Association. We donated my father’s walker, bed table and brand new wheel chair to the VNA in Red Bank, NJ and they were very appreciative. Also, local nursing homes might take medical supplies too.

      • Coupz

Thanks! I just called Somerville Visiting Nurse Association and they said by law they cannot take any donation of medication or bath items as well.

  5. Charlie

I wouldn’t let me use that promo code.

  6. Anna

    any MVC free ship codes?

  7. debra

Got two watches for .48 cents shipped after using a $10 gift card i won.

  8. Jessica S.

The tote bag is super cute, and my mom loves it… she has breast cancer and takes it to chemo with her every week… She loves that it’s bright pink and not pastel pink like a lot of the other breast cancer stuff.

  9. Kathy E

Does anyone know if you can get these tote bags in the stores too? or is it just on-line?? Thanks! 🙂

    • Becky

      Just online.

  10. sara

Love that the thermal mugs are made of stoneware. No leaching BPA plastic!! I got 2 of them for coffee and tea to use when I travel and go to work.

  11. Sheryl

Not letting me use the code posted above. Great items though

    • Tara

If you buy something from kohls and then it goes on sale, with they give you back the difference?

  13. Heather

If the money goes to Susan G. Koman, be aware that they support planned parenthood. I just found that out and was disappointed to say the least.

    • Kay

But for me you just gave me a reason to purchase. So, in effect, your post raised money for Planned Parenthood!

    • cdawnt

I agree with you Liz, wish I had known before I ordered that I was supporting/funding abortions.

      • Kay

I really don’t think this is the place for a Planned Parenhood debate. Although, just cancel your order if you are so against it cdawnt! Planned Parenthood itself isn’t about abortion. It’s primarily about contraception and reproductive health. Abortion services account for about 3 percent of Planned Parenthood’s activities. That’s less than cancer screening and prevention (16 percent), STD testing for both men and women (35 percent), and contraception (also 35 percent). About 80 percent of Planned Parenthood’s users are over age 20, and 75 percent have incomes below 150 percent of the poverty line. Planned Parenthood itself estimates it prevents more than 620,000 unintended pregnancies each year.

        • Jenn

For someone that doesn’t think this is a place for a debate you sure provided one after another and another and another.

        • Rosie

Bravo, Kay! Remember, all, knowledge is power! 😉

        • Ger

And about 50% of Planned Parenthood’s income comes from abortions.

        • Diane Gregg

Planned Parenthood is responsible for about 30% of the pre-born baby killings in the United States.

      • Jessie

here we go… someone always has to gripe about Collin’s deals! Kay is right – Planned Parenthood does SO MANY GOOD things for the communities, not just give abortions. If you don’t want to buy this merchandise then DON’T! 🙂 take your comments to one of those gripy blog forums 🙂

    • Coco

Just curious…what is wrong with supporting Planned Parenthood?

      • liz

I feel that abortion is a genocide issue. If Hitler had some good programs going, I still would not have supported those good programs, because of genocide happening on the other end. Another fyi, Margaret Sanger who started planned parenthood, openly said that she gained her views from Hitler, and wanted to rid the world of “undesirable people”. Especially black people. Sadly, today 1/3 of the black population is aborted.

        • Nicole

oh goodness. i need to not read these comments. if you don’t support abortion, don’t get one. typical republicans and right wing religious nuts always have to find a way to push their agenda. educate yourself before saying stupid things, planned parenthood does not just do abortions, they provide services to women who might otherwise not be able to afford them.
you clearly have no idea what genocide is if you’re comparing abortions to genocide.
and who cares what population is aborted, people choose to have abortions and have the right to have one. if one particular ethnic group has more than others, big deal, its their choice not to have that child. and PLEASE, show me legitimate literature from a credible source that shows that Margaret Sanger even said such things. where are you getting your information? a religious website or fox news?

          • Ashley

I would also like to know of a credible and unbiased source that includes that Margaret Sanger said such things.

        • Diane Gregg

Actually almost one half of black pregnancies end in abortion.

    • Candice Jaehn

Such a shame! I’m all for helping with breast cancer, but I refuse to help support Planned Parenthood!

      • Kay

Planned Parenthood doctors and nurses teach patients about breast care, connect patients to resources to help them get vital biopsies, ultrasounds, and mammograms, and follow up to make sure patients are cared for with the attention they need and deserve.

        • Kay

For those of you that really are that angry maybe this letter from Komen will ease your worries: “Komen provides funding for local community health programs through our network of more than 120 affiliates across the United States. Each Affiliate is responsible for assessing the breast health service needs—including education, screening, treatment and support—for the residents within its region as well as identifying and providing funding to organizations that can meet those needs. Annually, Komen Affiliates fund programs that provide breast health education and breast screenings for hundreds of thousands of low-income, uninsured, or medically under-served women via nearly 2,000 local organizations, including 19 Planned Parenthood programs.

The decision to fund any breast health and screening program is based on a thorough assessment of a community’s breast health needs and resources. In some areas of the U.S., our affiliates have determined a Planned Parenthood clinic to be the best or only local place where women can receive breast health care.

In all cases, Komen funding is used exclusively to provide breast cancer programs, including clinical breast exams conducted by trained medical personnel. When symptoms indicate a need for further screening, patients are provided with a referral to obtain a mammogram. Depending on local resources, that mammogram may be paid for using a Komen grant. It’s important to note that Komen will only make grants to non-profit organizations. As many mammography providers are for-profit entities, we are only to fund mammography services through grants made to local non-profit service providers.

Twice each year, Komen affiliates conduct a thorough review of their community health grant programs to ensure that funds are being used only for breast health services. Under no circumstances are Komen funds used to fund abortions or other non-breast services, and any service provider shown to violate those rules would be immediately terminated from the Komen grant program.

During the past five years, Komen Affiliate grants to Planned Parenthood have funded 139,000 clinical breast exams and nearly 5,000 mammograms, enabling the detection of 177 breast cancers. Our mission is to help save lives by increasing screening rates among all populations of women across the U.S. and around the world. As long as there is a need for health care for vulnerable populations, Komen will fund the facilities that can best meet those needs.”

          • jill

Does not ease my worries. Just because your a non-profit, does not mean that funding from one thing does not flow to another. Those grants help pay for the mamogram, but also the rent, staff , and ceo, etc. Without funding for these other things they would not have a presence in the community to offer abortion services.

            • Priyanka

Actually…the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation is one of the 10 best charities according to charity navigator (a website that helps people see where their money goes and how efficiently or non-efficiently the charity spends it).
              https://www.charitynavigator.org/index.cfm?bay=topten.detail&listid=18
It’s the only charity on the list for Breast Cancer awareness/prevention.

            • Kay

Jill, have you ever worked at a non-profit????? I am a grant writer and if I receive a grant for a program it cannot be spent on rent, the staff, or the ceo. Why do you think that any grant application requires an organizational budget and a program budget. If I used a program grant to pay our CEO, the grant would need to be returned, I would lose any option of receiving future funds, and would probably lose my job! Rent, staff, and salaries would need to be included as line items in the budget for it to be allowed. Almost all program grants cannot be spent on salaries. That is the function of an annual fund.

            • jill

Yes I have worked at a non-profit and I do write grants. The grants that SGK gives to planned parenthood are non earmarked funds, and yes that money can go anywhere PP wants to use it.

        • Diane Gregg

And if that was all they did there wouldn’t be a problem. The end the lives of millions of human beings. They are human because they aren’t giraffes, cats, or frogs and they are beings because they exist. So by definition they are human beings. And Planned Parenthood and any of their supporters participate in this killing. It’s legal murder.

    • Jaime

Planned parenthood is a great organization. Let’s not bash them on collins site. Don’t buy if you don’t want to…

      • jill

Check out the movie Expelled by Ben Stein it has a great perspective on Planned Parenthood from a Jewish perspective.

    • Allison

Thanks! Another reason TO buy and support Planned Parenthood.

Collin – maybe you should delete some of these posts..they are very offensive and not exactly appropriate for a coupon website.

      • Samantha

Planned Parenthood is so much more than abortions. Do your research before making a generalization that abortion is the only service they provide.

    • Jennifer

I love how people like to fling opinions like monkeys fling poop. Aside from this not even being remotely coupon related everyone might want to do a bit of research before throwing out comments. Susan G Komen Foundation NO LONGER supports Planned Parenthood, so you’re avoid donating to a good foundation because you ASSUME they still do.

    • sara

“save the trees and kill the children” what has this world come to.

      • Beth

yea sara, if colin had posted a deal on tuna and someone had said don’t buy that tuna because it harms dolphins, there would no uproar, but mention babies…

  15. cindy

not seeing the prices you have in red…nothing is discounted…did they end this promotion already?

    • cindy

      i found it

    • Taraneh

I had trouble finding the stuff too, go on the website and search for the kohls cares vera wang stuff and then it’ll show up

Got a cute umbrella for me. Thanks! 🙂

  20. Katie

Does anyone know of any free shipping codes with a kohls charge?

  21. Hope
  22. Taraneh

Does anyone know if the leopard tote is just an open bag or if it has a zipper? Not trying to be picky, I just prefer to have a bag that zips shut so I don’t have to worry about things falling out and the website doesn’t specify.
    thanks!

    • Taraneh

Took a look at the different views and sadly looks like it’s not a zippered bag. Will be getting the travel mug though! thanks for sharing this deal Collin!

  23. Charlie

I took advantage of this deal to buy all of my kids’ teacher gifts for the end of the year! Woohoo! For $20 a teacher they are getting a tote, a wristlet, a cosmetic bag, a travel cup, a watch and a ring. Amazing find! THANK YOU COLLIN!

    • Taraneh

      What lucky teachers!

  24. Karen

loved the slippers they had last year for $2.50. too bad there are none of those this year! 🙂

  25. Andrea

I can’t find the deals anywhere. They are all listed at full price.

    • Paula

search Vera Wang Kohls Cares in the search bar on the kohls.com site

  26. Paula

Great idea on the teacher gits! I have 6 teacher/teacher-aides to buy for so they are each getting a tote/umbrella/travel mug. I was able to get free shipping and with ebates 6% it comes to under $10 per gift – yea! Grandma is getting a tote/umbrella/mug for Valentine’s Day and I got myself an umbrella/mug too.
With the savings I just might throw in a $5 gc to Starbucks for the teachers 🙂

  27. Samantha

Genuinely upset over the abortion debate – especially with the responses coming from and the hip2save readers primarily being women.

    • Jenn

I will not share my opinion on this. TOTALLY the wrong place to be discussing it no matter which way you feel. Crazy right? For it not being a debate Kay sure did turn it into one.

      • Candice Jaehn

I don’t think it’s the place to go all crazy, but I think it’s fine to express some feelings why you won’t participate on a deal.

  28. Candice Jaehn

It’s funny how people who support abortion think we all have to think that way! If you have the right to support it we have the right to be against it. That’s all I’ll say. By the way Susan G. Komen was donating money to Planned Parenthood for breast exams. They have since halted all grants to Planned Parenthood for miss-use of the money and using it for abortions. Here’s the article. https://www.foxnews.com/us/2012/01/31/cancer-charity-halts-grants-to-planned-parenthood-1227146736/

    • Ger

      Thanks for the link Candice!

    • Jennifer

Please don’t spread gossip when there isn’t any to be had. No where in that article does it state that they have halted the grant due to miss-use of money. No where does it state that the grants were being used for abortions. The family planning organization is currently under investigation by Congress. Komen has a rule that bars them from contributing to organizations that are under investigation at the local, state, or federal level. They are being audited, just like the IRS would audit you or I. Congress requested documents on standards and practices related to billing issues, written policies and procedures, and it requests information on how the abortion giant keeps its family planning abortion monies separate and segregated due to Cliff Stearn’s insistence. This country states you are innocent until proven guilty and this applies to audits as well. However, if you don’t agree with it don’t buy the deal and find other ways to support Komen. Doesn’t much matter either way since they are no longer funding them though.

      • Sarah

I TOTALLY agree, Jennifer! Thank you!

  29. mal

Didn’t find a free shipping code but if you go to the store you can use the kiosk and get free shipping there. It saved me a ton since I bought quiet a few things!

  30. Smellyann

I got $50 worth of these goods since breast cancer runs in my family and I have the gene (just got the screening test to find out). So yay for Susan G. Komen and YAY for Planned Parenthood, too, whether SGK supports them or not. Guess what? I got raped as a young teen by a psycho who wanted me to marry him, ended up pregnant and, yes, I terminated that pregnancy. EFF YOU if you don’t think I should have. Seriously. If you don’t want one, don’t get one, but keep your laws off MYYYYYYYY body. Peace out.

  31. Alysha

    https://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/01/31/komen-planned-parenthood-cuts-karen-handel_n_1245568.html?icid=maing-grid7%7Cipad%7Cdl1%7Csec1_lnk3%26pLid%3D131751

Breast cancer charity giant Susan G. Komen for the Cure on Tuesday did not renew a grant to Planned Parenthood to fund breast exams. The move comes less than a year after Komen hired a new vice president, who has publicly stated her opposition to abortion, a service provided at some Planned Parenthood facilities.

I got my watch today and, I am in LOVE!.. SO ADORABLE.
