This is an awesome toy/plush. It’s face is all embroidery, so it’s safe for even the youngest of babies to play with. My son has had his since he was a baby & has always loved it to this day – 4 years later! My daughter (1) also loves it. You can switch the volume/sound to high, low, and off. You can change the language to English, Spanish, or French. You change the volume and language with switches on the internal box under a velcroed flap on the back of the head. The box doesn’t remove and the toy is surface wipe only, but it cleans up very well. In addition to saying the name (in a pleasant voice) of the satin color circle you squeeze, it also plays pleasant, cute music when you press the face. The names of the colors are written in various languages (including Chinese, etc.) on the satin undersides of the tentacles. It’s very plush and soft – even the sailor hat is stuffed. 😛 It’s been a durable toy as well, enduring many drops and tosses. The pics don’t show it, but it also has a nice hanging strap on the top back of the head made of the same material as the body that velcroes onto itself to make a loop for hanging. I highly recommend this toy and is one of the few toys on my “must have” list, and is not an annoying “noisy” toy in any way. We also got ours on a clearance/sale endcap at Target for around this sale price. This is a great deal for anyone interested. 🙂
My son is over 2 1/2 and sleeps with this toy every night! He loves it!! We are a bi lingual family also so the Spanish and English is awesome!! GREAT TOY!!
