Oh great… Now I want pancakes AND cookies! LOL!
This does not relate to cookies or pancakes, but a question about a certain coupon and the issue I have with it.
I went to Target today to jump on a Scrubbing Bubbles Deal. I bought three toilet gels @ $3.89 each and three fresh brush refills @ $3.99 each. I used three BOGO mfr coupons (Buy the gel, get the fresh brush refills free). I ended up paying less than expected and after closely examining the receipt found that each coupon took off $6.99 automatically – I say automatically because the cashier didn’t have to enter the amount like it usually prompts them too.
So I’m not exactly sure what to do now. I know that each coupon should only have taken off $3.99 each, but why didn’t the system prompt for the cashier to enter the amount? I plan on going back to the store to let customer service know. My only issue is – what if other couponers are accepting a bigger discount than they should because the system isn’t prompting? Is it a problem with the coupon? Or am I completely off my rocker?
I’ve noticed the same thing after using some BOGO qs 2 weeks ago. I’m positive the store will get the full $6.99+$.08 back from the retailer so I don’t think you need to worry too much about it, you didn’t actually do anything wrong =) HTH
Ok. I tend to freak when things don’t go as planned. Thanks. =]
The same thing happened to me at walmart. The funny thing is when it prompted her to put in the amount to take off (it was 3.47) the computer wouldn’t take it. It would only let her take off 6.99! she said oh well and put it through as 6.99. I told her the store gets reimbursed anyway.
Does anyone know if you can get these Hungry Jack Easy Pack pancake mixes at Walmart or Kroger? I don’t have a Target, but that is a good price for some pancake mix!
you can do a lookup on their website, and they’ll tell you where you can buy them. I printed the coupon when it was on their website, only to find I have to drive 60 miles to get them…
Great! Thank you. It’s currently not working, but I’ll try it out again tomorrow. Thanks for the tip Kristan.
Off the subject, but does anyone know if you can Ad match at Target and still use a target coupon? I tried to ad match the Edwards pie today, a local store has them on sale for $3.99 and I tried to use the Target coupon that came in the Hop flyer and Target said no way. They said no using Target coupons if Ad matchin. I guess I should try to locate the Target coupon policy, but asking on Hip2save seems so much better to me. Thanks
You certainly can! I ad matched the $1.99 Easter candy that was at Toys R Us at Target. I used Target coupons along with the manufacture coupons. No problem at all. It must be done at customer service.
As far as I understand, you can’t price match and use a target coupon…only a mfg. I guess you are just lucky if you have a store that will… But it was against their coupon policy last time I looked.
My Target will only PM if the value of the item is still more than using the Target Coupon. Example – the pie is $4.99 at Target, if the Target coupon is $1 off, that brings it down to $3.99 which is the same as the grocery store and No PM. Now if the pie is $5.99, using the Target coupon brings it to $4.99, Target will then PM to $3.99. But they won’t let you double dip using the PM + Target coupon to make it $2.99.
That’s how the store manager explained it to me.
I ran into this exact problem last summer at my local Target. I ended up asking for the manager, who I had dealt with quite a bit because the cashiers were refusing good coupons left and right and she said she had to ask corporate. She ended up calling to apologize the next day and said after talking to corporate I was completely right and they had to take coupons along with the price matching.
Thanks Shelby, Lisa, Mel and Amanda, I’m thinking its a ymmv kind of thing because you all had different experiences. Maybe I’ll get lucky next time I ad match at CS desk and a different target employee will allow it. Thanks everyone!!!
Thanks collin need pancake mix and didnt have any coupons woot.
Here’s target’s price match policy:
Combining both a Target and Manufacturer Coupons:
The Target coupon will be applied before the price match is made. If the competitor price is still lower than the price after the Target coupon has been deducted, the ad match can be adjusted to match the competitor’s price. Once the price match is made the manufacturer coupon will be applied.
Thanks Stac!
where did the scrubbing bubbles q come from?
Love the pancake coupon and I was just needing some too. I pre-make waffles and freeze them for my son for a quick breakfast in the am. Going to grab these tomorrow!
what a great idea. Never thought of that.
I have found Lofthouse cookies in the Walmart clearance baked goods before. The sell by date was in a few days.
