Walgreens: P&G Overlapping Register Rewards + Rebate = Better than FREE P&G Products
Walgreens appears to have overlapping Register Rewards on select P&G products! Check out the deal scenario I was able to score a little earlier today…
Bought 1 Gillette Venus ProSkin Razor $10.99
Bought 1 Gillette Venus 4 ct box of Cartridges $12.99
Bought 2 CoverGirl Single Eye Shadows $3.99 each + on sale buy 1 get 1 50% off
Bought 1 Olay Foaming Face Wash on sale for $3.99
Total = $33.95
Used the FREE Venus razor with refill purchase coupon found in the 6/3 PG (deducted $10.99)
Used 2 $1/1 CoverGirl coupons found in the 5/13 or 6/3 PG
Used the $1/1 Olay Facial Cleanser coupon found in the 6/3 PG
Paid $19.96 (+ tax)
Then I got back…
* $8 Register Reward for purchasing the Venus Razor & Venus Refill (advertised in the weekly ad)
* $5 Register Reward for purchasing 1 Olay product, 1 Cover Girl product and 1 Venus product in the same transaction – valid 6/3 through 6/16.
* $3 Register Reward courtesy of P&G Beauty (not sure what triggered this one?) Thanks to reader, Jillian, the $3 Register Reward was generated for purchasing 1 Cover Girl product AND 1 Olay product in the same transaction!
After you take into account the $16 in Register Rewards, it’s basically like I got all of the above for just $3.96! Not too shabby!
…And this deal gets even sweeter because I can apply all of these P&G purchases towards the $10 P&G Mail-In Rebate offer when you spend $50 or more on participating P&G products (before coupons). So you could potentially do the above scenario or a similar scenario twice and then submit for the rebate to turn this deal into a moneymaker (after you subtract the Register Rewards and rebate). Note that you do have to make your purchases by tomorrow, 6/5 in order to take advantage of this rebate offer.
Your final total will look something like this:

I don’t get it, the 19.96+19.96 is only $40…so how does that make the $50 needed for the PG rebate?
The 19.96 is after coupons, it is 33.95 before which is what would count toward the rebate. So you would have 67.90 when you would need 50. hth
In the post above it says before coupons…….the rebate doesnt say that……..which one is it? Before or after coupons? I didnt spend 50.00 after coupons.. I spent $25, havent sent my rebate yet, just bought my stuff today at cvs, now wags has a better deal ugh 🙁 Can u return stuff at cvs after using EB’s?
You can return stuff after using coupons and ECB’s, but sometimes it depends on the manager if they will give you back the total cost of the item or the cost of the item after coupons. And the rebate is BEFORE coupons.
Its the higher total before the coupons that pg rebate will look at. Hth

Has anyone tried this transaction with fillers and RRs too? I’m always afraid that RRs won’t print at Walgreens and I was just curious if the RRs would still print for this one if you bought non-P&G items plus used an RR as payment. I just did it… used a previous $4RR, bought 3 packs of gum that were 3 X $3 and it all printed no prob. However the price of the foaming face wash was higher… $4.23… still a pretty good deal!
I tried this exact scenerio and it worked for me too. I used 2 $10 rr’s to pay and a candy bar for a filler and my subtotal was $.55 (my razor was $11.99 instead of $10.99 but the coupon took it off). Payed $2.45 in tax and got all $16 of rr’s.

yes u may because the coupon is for the soap u guys can use the 2.00 on any venus razor or refill the b1g1 buy refills get razor free and the free soap body wash with refill purchase u will be doing nothing wrong or illegal becuase u r buying the refill u get the soap and razor free and the 2.oo takes off the refill which you r paying for hth

If you are only buying one refill then you can only get one item free.
You can chose either one of the freebies but you cannot stack both if only buying one refill.

It is not a fraud. It is completely valid. I did it tonight. One coupon can be used for each item. So one of those coupons can be used on the Olay refill. Walgreens is good at catching coupons that cannot be stacked. It rang off my register without problems at all and the cashier didn’t see any problems with it (she was one of the night managers). So, it worked for me just fine.

I went to 3 diff wags & all of them said I couldnt use both coupons. The old register wouldnt even take it , the new ones did but the cashier said I wasnt allowed to use it at the 2 other stores. Even spoke to the manager & she said no.
You are buying the cartridges and getting the razor free (per wording on one of the coupons). On the other coupon, you are buying cartridges and getting the Olay free. To be using the coupons properly, you should buy 2 cartridges. It would be just like buying one item, say cereal. You have one coupon for $1 off, and another for 50 cents off. You cannot use BOTH on the coupons on the ONE box of cereal. This is the same, but a little more confusing because there are so many items involved. I hope that helps!

Is a RR like a RA UP? If so, can I use my RR from transaction 1 in transaction 2?
yes, a RR is similar to a RA Up. You “can” use the RR from the first transaction in the second transaction, but a second set of RR will not print if you do that. (you can use RR from other products (non-P&G products) on the transactions, but not the P&G RR)
no, wags is a bit more complicated. if you use the rr to pay for products from the same manufacturer (in this case PG) the RR’s won’t print. but you have lots of freebies to choose to roll this week at wags, so it shouldn’t be hard to do. hth

If I did this deal for one transaction, could I use my RRs for a next transactions of different deals that will produce RRs? Or I can’t buy any P&G products at all in my next transaction? Also, do these have a “start date” that is further out… meaning, I can not use them the same day I receive them?

robin, no worries, i had the same issues when i started at wags. 🙂
first off, wags has no loyalty card, so you don’t have to worry about that. you can use the RR’s the next transaction, that’s not a problem.
you can use RR’s on anything that you want that’s not a PG product that will produce the same RR. sometimes it gets confusing cuz maybe you can buy another PG product and it may produce a different RR(say if u use the $5RR to buy the venus deal again(maybe the $8RR will print, though it usually doesn’t, I would stay away from trying if it’s your first time, just cuz it gets confusing and nerve-wracking, just from experience).
this week you can try doing the deal collin has from above and maybe try buying a lot of the freebies this week like the brainstrong, lansoprazole, smart ultimate fish oil, etc…you just have to watch that you have the same number of items as manufacturer q’s and RR’s(since RR’s are considered manufacturer q’s)
i’d watch collin’s vids on shopping at wags since they’re really helpful and the wags newbies sections..hth and good luck!!!

You can use them on any item in the store. They do not have a ‘starting date,’ but they do expire in two weeks. You can use them the same day you get them. Also, it is perfectly fine to use your RR to purchase other items that will produce additional RR. 🙂
One of the hard things about walgreens RR program is that you have to be mindful of the item to coupon ratio… meaning, you can’t have more coupons (including RR) than you have items. SO.. many of us use small candies at the front counters (usually 10 cents) to add additional items to our order, so we can use additional RR coupons.
Also, if you have a RR from a certain manufacturer, and want to purchase another item, from the same manufacturer, that will produce the same amount of RR.. if you use the first RR the second one will not print. (ie: if you have a $2 RR from P&G razor and want to purchase a P&G deodorant that will produce a $2 RR it is very likely the second will not print if you use the first one. If you have a $3 RR from a P&G product and want to use it to get a product that will produce a $2 RR from P&G it is usually ok, though!)
Yes, you can use them like money other than for gift cards/alcohol/cigarettes (and maybe a few other things).
You can use the RR from these P&G products to buy other products that will produce RR. You can use them on the same products too, but you won’t get new RR. For example, say you just buy a razor/razor blades and get the $8 RR for that, and then want to buy another set of razor/razor blades, you can use the $8 RR, but it won’t print another one for you. However, if you use that $8RR to buy a cover girl product and an olay product, the $3 RR will still print. You can use RR the same day you get them.
And most Walgreens don’t have cards. I think they only have them a few specific areas, so you probably won’t have to get one.
I just got my rebate submission returned to me today. My total was $56 BEFORE coupons (much less after) & the letter said I hadn’t purchased enough in qualifying product amount. What the heck??

definitely all qualifying… all Pantene & Tampax sales for donations to the Women’s Shelter. I had no problem with the $15 P&G rebate.
I had the same thing happen. I called the number and the lady I spoke with told me to resend it in because for some reason when they first started doing the rebates they were only doing it *after* coupons not before. I guess they changed their minds (or realized they screwed up) shortly thereafter. That was about a week or so ago and I’m still waiting to see what happens. I would definitely call to speak to someone.
I also got mine sent back but resent it explaing that all items were purchased in a letter and did finally receive the rebate.

you can’t use more coupons or RR than the number of products you are purchasing. So if you were trying to use a RR and a coupon you would need to buy two items. I usually just find something really cheap to add to my transaction.
RRs are “manuf coupons” not treated as “store coupons” like UPs & ECBs. Their registers are programmed to have an equal ratio of items to coupons. So in order to use a RR + manuf coupon on 1 item, you need to have added a small filler. 2 items / 2 coupons.
Cheap clearance items like pencils (sometimes can find them .08-.10), stickers or seasonal items are good fillers. Or anything in the ad that’s .50 & under that I need – baking soda, peroxide, tomato sauce, jello.. etc.
I already received my 10$ visa card from P&G.
If you only have ONE P&G INSERT: you can pair this deal with the CG mascara deal (2 for $.99 after b1g1 coupon,$4off $12 cosmetics cvs coupon & $1off any CG cosmetic-note there are 2 in the insert) posted on WildforCVS to reach your a grand total of $50 for the REBATE.

I thought the $8 rr for Venus was only the Venus olay kind? So I can buy any variety of Venus & still get the rr?
I ran to WG did the purchase everything worked fine BUT to my surprise it took off $16.99 for the cartridges and not the razor! My guess is the coupon is not just for olay razors but it does seem to “favor” those. What I got was a venus embrace razor and the olay refill cartridges.So it favored the “olay” and took off for that. I could have gotten the olay razor but it only had 1 cartridge in the pack and the embrace has 2. So if I got the olay all around I would be 2 cartridges short (if that makes since, the refill only has 3 with “olay”) not willing to give up 2 I compromised and did it so I had 5 cartridges. GLAD I DID because I got and extra $6 off that way. I could be totally wrong so if anyone else has a reason why it took off for cartridges please let us know why.

I did the same exact deal Collin did, same coupons except I bought the Venus Olay 3 ct refill cartridges and the venus embrace razor (comes with 2 cartridges) but the lady that commented below got both olay and it took the $16.99 off.
I bought the Olay razor ($12.99) and regular Venus cartridges for $13.49, for some reason it takes off the cartridge price, or maybe it is taking off whichever price is higher. However, the weird thing is there is a maximum price on the coupon of $12.99, which I hadn’t even noticed- the cashier did notice and adjusted the price accordingly.
The same thing happened to me. I bought a 6 pack of refills so it was 21.99 that the coupon took off. I pointed it out to the cashier and she said it was fine.
I got my venus olay razor and 4 ct refill for $2.99 plus tax! My walgreens computer system automatically deducted the $16.99 for my venus/olay refill. This is what I had in my purchases yesterday:
1 Venus/Olay razor = $12.99

Then the Buy a refill get the razor free coupon from the P&G 6/3
It automatically deducted the $16.99. I even pointed it out to the cashier since I didn’t want her to get in trouble. She said that if that’s what the system took, then she is leaving it alone. I paid $10.99 plus tax and got the $8RR from P&G.

I bought 4 covergirl with olay blushes on clearance for $6.99 and b1g1 50% off instead of the eye shadow so that I could also submit for the $10 Mir when u buy $20 in covergirl with Olay products. I also only had to do the deal once to get my total to $50 for the other Mir.

Just did this deal and went great! The refills were $13.49 at my Walgreens but thanx goodness for military discount! I paid $15.45 for everything!!
Our Walgreens has new registers and When I look on the new receipts it only shows the total after coupons and the bottoms shows total savings. Each 1 of my receipts totaled $20.92 with tax. The old receipts showed the total before coupons ;( Even if I don’t get the rebate still a GREAT DEal!
Did this today, only the prices were higher in NJ. Thank goodness for the new manager for knows coupons well, and the transaction was completed with RRs as stated. Bought all of the above and also an Olay body wash and used Buy one Venus refill get an Olay BW free. The manager said we can use upto 2 B1G1 coupons on an item and allowed it!!:)

You can still request a “rebate/gift” receipt, which should print out the values for each item, more like the old receipts.

I did mine a little different tho. i bought 2 cover girl lash blast mascaras, 1 Gillette Venus olay Razor and 1 Refill, and 1 olay body wash 23.6 oz. Then i used the buy one cartridge get one razor free coupon , and the buy one refill get a bar body wash…ect free, and the buy one get one cover girl Lash blast mascara free.
I think it might have come out cheeper too! (i used previous RR so im not sure of the price at this moment) 🙂

I used the buy a refill get a Olay BW coupon and this counted as an Olay item. I didn’t have to buy the Olay cleanser. Mine also took the refill price which was higher than the razor!

I was so bummed b/c i was trying to be helpful and brought my items to the BA instead of the regular cashier to ring up…but she was a coupon nazi and it took forever. she had to read all the coupons one by one, then when she scanned the BOGO razor/refill coupon she adjusted it DOWN to $12.99 since it says max value of $12.99 on it 🙁
They did that at my Walgreens too but that I what they are supposed to do. Otherwise they will be out 5$ since they will only get reimbursed 12.99$(or whatever the coupon says)
we got an email from corprate loss prevention that we had to adjust the coupons cause they are not ringing right as for your other problems sorry u had a bad time

Worked for me! My prices varied a little but it is still an awesome deal! I paid $47.92 for two of the listed scenarios, I received $32 RR and will submit for the $10 rebate. He said one applies to one at 3.49 and the other to the 6.99. I originally had come in with a B1G1 and a 1$ off couoon and he said “oh I taught another couponer this earlier if you had another one of these coupons (which I did)” he then said that I’m “buying both of them, since coupons are like cash” so I can use both. He said it clearly explains it online in their coupon policy. I thought I knew it pretty well but now I’m confused lol. He was so sure of himself and I think the general manager so I just said ok!!!!

you used a bogo olay coupon, did you buy 2 olay products? (you only have one listed)
It’s a buy 1 Venus cartridge and get one okay bar or body wash or body lotion free
So I looked at the coupon policy online and for B1G1 coupons it said you could use up to two coupons just as long as they didn’t exceed the amount…so does that mean I can use the B1G1 cover girl and a $1/1 cover girl coupon and both the B1 cartridge G1 razor coupon and the B1 cartridge G1 Olay product if I only buy one cartridge?
I take it as you can use one BOGO and one additional $/1 coupon on two items. So the one item you get for free because of the BOGO and the other item you get the money off coupon applied to it.
I bought razor, refill, play body wash, and 2 mascaras and after coupons I payed 11.99 + tax and got back 16RR

Does anyone know who I should contact about RR not printing? My stores has new computers and apparently their system is not yet printing RR, so for the fish oil this week I was asked to contact the company, but the cashier didn’t have the number. TIA
