Also go through ebates for 2% cash back!

    • flgulledge

Shop at Home is 5% back at Target.com right now but it says that there is no cash back on gift card purchases, Ebates is probably the same. It makes sense because you would get the cash back when you use your gift card online to pay for your purchases. They are not going to give you double dip.

  2. Missie B.

I wonder how many you can buy.?

  3. Melody

Can you buy a gift card with a gift card?

    • Brianna

I know in stores you can use a gift card towards a gift card and I believe it is the same online

  4. Missie B.

    Shopathome has 5% cash back!

    • Tamara

But if you click on the guidelines, it says not valid on gift cards.

      • Missie B.

Bummer! Thanks for lwtting me know!

  5. Hollye

Can you use your target red card to purchase and save an additional 5%?

    • Karen

The 5% isn’t valid on gift cards.

      • Aly

I bought Disney gift cards one time with my Red Card and I got the 5% off.

        • Kathie M

Disney and other non-Target “gift cards” are considered “entertainment cards” by Target and that is why you save the additional 5% on them.

    • Mel

No, I just did my transaction. I got free shipping, though.

  6. Aly

And would you get another 5% off if you paid with your Red Card?

    • Sherry

No, just bought one and you don’t get the extra 5% off.

    • Mel

How would you do that if its only valid today? How long does it take to get the gift card?

  7. Liz

I just bought one. You dont get 5% off if you pay with your Red Card.

    order summary.

    ——————————————————————————–

    subtotal: $100.00
    promotion discounts -$10.00
    shipping: $1.95
    shipping discounts: -$1.95
    estimated taxes: $0.00

    your price: $90.00

    • moon

hello, how did you get the shipping discounts? i had to pay the 1.95 shipping fee.

      • Frances

By paying with your Target credit card you get a 5% discount at Target or Target.com except for Target gift cards and you get free shipping at Target.

  8. Melissa

You don’t get an extra 5% with the red card, but you do get free shipping. It also is only good on $100 value. I tried to add $200 worth of gift cards and it still only gave me $10 off of the $200. So you might have to do multiple orders if you want more than $100.

  9. Sonya

    I bought 2 in 2 transactions. Only 1 works at a time!

  10. Whitney

How much is shipping if you don’t have a RedCard?

    • Whitney

Nevermind, $2.07 if anyone else is wondering.

  11. Allison S.

I wonder if you can then use the $100 to pay for your $100 order and save another $10???

    • Whitney

Good idea, I’d like to know if that works, I’d think it would.

    • Emily

I’m currently waiting for my gift card to arrive in e-mail to try this out. I don’t see why it wouldn’t work. I’m so excited b/c my mom wanted me to buy my brother’s car seat and stroller for her b/c I’m near a target and they were out of stock online. They’re back in stock and she’ll end up getting $40 off but I will have to do this in 4 orders! (2 to buy gift cards and 2 to purchase items)

      • Nelly

Hi — wondering if that worked for you? How long did it take for your e-giftcard to arrive?

        • Jen

I’ve been waiting 2 hours so far for mine…I’m sure it’ll be soon.

        • Emily

It has been 5 hours, I’m still waiting! I just got off the phone with customer service, hoping to get some answers and they told me it could take up to 24 hours. I really wanted to buy the car seat and stroller today but I have a feeling they’re selling so many gift cards today that they’re holding them for a midnight release so that people can’t use them today. I’m going to be really mad when it shows up then and e-mail the company a formal complaint b/c they said it is usually delivered within 4 hours!

          • Erin

I imagine they are trying to prevent people from doing what you are trying to do. If they issued the e-giftcards immediately, someone could “roll” the deal indefinitely. I don’t think it warrants a complaint.

I ordered a physical gift card, and Target confirmation emails usually arrive immediately. This time it took *hours*. Almost thought my order didn’t go through. So maybe they’re also delayed due to sheer volume.

            • Emily

It isn’t any different than ordering large items in seperate orders so you can get the discount twice. I wasn’t rolling it through for more gift cards, I have legitimate items that I need to get. Now I’m just hoping the stroller and car seat go on sale in the next few weeks or that they put an august coupon out there for the one my sister-in-law registered for.

I just got shipping confirmation of my e-mail gift card and I placed two orders yesterday and one of them arrived, I’m hoping the other one arrives soon. It also includes some instructions on how to turn it into a mobile gift card to use in-store.

  12. Katherine Davidson

Getting it and saving for black friday! thanks!

  13. Ashley57

It is going realllly slow…anyone else?

    • Ashley57

Finally got it to process. Just took a few tries.

  14. Mary Rojas

If you want the physical card, there is a $1.95 shipping charge.

    • Ashley57

Shipping is free if you have a Redcard though.

  15. Allison S.

So how do you “Go through” shop at home??

  16. Bobbi

I was planning to go to Target later anyway, so I bought a $100 gift card and emailed it to myself. Thanks! 🙂

    • Kristin

It states that egiftcards can only be used online. IS this true?

      • Kim

According to the fine print, yes…I copied it once below, but here it is again:

Target GiftCards and Target Mobile Gift Cards can be redeemed for merchandise or services (excluding American Express® and Visa® gift cards and prepaid cards) at Target stores in the U.S. or Target.com. Target eGiftCards can be redeemed for merchandise at Target.com only.

        • Brianna

I have had a guest come in before with an egiftcard and they said they had been able to contact target guest service and get the numbers that work in stores. We had to hand type it in but if you can figure out how to get those than hopefully you could

        • flgulledge

Thanks for letting me know I just went through my online Target account and canceled the ecard that I just ordered and re-ordered a mailed one instead. Thank goodness it hadn’t shipped yet.

        • Bobbi

Thanks for the heads-up! I just cancelled mine.

  17. Corinne

One of the gift cards comes with a free reusable tote bag. 🙂

    • Kristina

Thanks, Corinne! I got that one! 🙂

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks Corrine! Just updated the post. 😀

  18. Helen

They are charging tax. That makes no sense!

  19. Kim

I did 4 $25 giftcards and picked out some of the fun ones! There is a 52 peice 3D puzzle one, a catepillar one that turns into a butterly (made by Hexbug) and one with a free reusable tote bag! Looks like there is also one that comes with a foam finger, lol…I applied for my red card last week and of course haven’t received it in the mail yet, but happily paid the $2 shipping fee. Still made $8 and got hopefully a cute puzzle and a nice reusable shopping bag! No idea what the hexbug target cards really are though…lol…

  20. mindy

how does the gift card emailed to you work? do you just print it out? just wondering because i have never done that before.

    • Helen

No – I checked their FAQ and the mail or mobile ones can be used online or in store. The e-mailed gift card is online only.

      • Kim

Helen is right – here is the fine print:

Target GiftCards and Target Mobile Gift Cards can be redeemed for merchandise or services (excluding American Express® and Visa® gift cards and prepaid cards) at Target stores in the U.S. or Target.com. Target eGiftCards can be redeemed for merchandise at Target.com only.

      • mindy

thanks so much! i think i will just order the card then.

  21. Kim

which one has a free tote?

    • Helen

It lists it right on the main gift card page. Generally the ones that say “online price” under them are “special” ones, like the caterpillar and others mentioned here.

      • Sandra

The caterpillar toy is great. It is a normal hex bug just like the ones you pay $6-8 dollars for in the store. The gift card is on the bottom of the box and you can use it for a purchase (instore or online) and give the bug with box to someone as a freebie. Further, you can get as little as $5 on the giftcard (which is awesome for a free hexbug) and get multiples on this deal. They do sell this giftcard in the stores, too, if you’d like one for your kiddo but don’t want to invest $100 today 🙂

        • KB

So the caterpillar gift card comes with a hex bug toy? Sorry to ask anyone to clarify, just want to be sure I’m understanding correctly!

BTW, Thanks Collin for the deal and everyone who commented with ideas for the deal!

          • Sandra

Sorry, just saw your question. Yes, the caterpillar gift card comes with a free hex toy. All you pay is the amount that you put on the gift card ($5, $10, or whatever u want to put on it). They have been in our Target stores for 6 weeks or so now. You can just grab one, put $5 (or whatever u want) on it, then use the gift card on your next shopping trip and essentially get a free hex bug. After you use the $5 on the gift card, you could even stash the bug in his box away for a stocking stuffer. The bug is really cute. Its about the size of a normal $6 hexbux, but it’s a caterpillar shape and has spots (a few of which are tiny target bullseyes), plus it has a detachable pair of wings for when it grows up into a butterfly. My son has a few hex bugs and he absolutely loves this one.

  22. Sarah

Thanks so much. I did two transactions and the first I did a couple $25 cards for gifts and then a $100 for me. I seriously shop at target like 4 times a week.

  23. Nicole

I bought 10 of the $5 cards to get 10 free reusable tote bags!

    • Tracy

Thanks for the suggestion – got 20 of the $5 cards and will get 20 of the tote bags (tried to get 10 of the $10 cards w/free bag, but it said they were out.

    • alwaysashley03

Man I wish I had thought of that! Would be perfect for gifts!

  24. Angie

Got the tote one. I have gotton this one before. It is not a regular tote size. It is slighly smaller than a plastic bad from a grocery store, just so you know what to expect.

    • Angie

I meant “bag” not bad 🙂

  25. Caitlin

can you get this deal in stores i am going to target tonight

    • Melissa

      It’s a Target.com deal…$10 off any $100 or more purchase.

  26. mary

Woo Hoo!! Thank you Collin: My birthday was on Sunday and I received a few gift cards from target $65.00 total i paid $25.00 for a $100.00 gift card perfect timing for back to school clearence items and clothes at the end of August this card should last me for quite awhile.

  27. Shaun

What if a gift card gets lost in the mail or something?

  28. Jenn

If you don’t have a red card for free shipping, but have a smart phone, you can convert your ecard to use in store….

    Target eGiftCard™:

Just choose an amount, include a message and your Target eGiftCard will be emailed to the recipient usually within 4 hours. Weekend orders will not be delivered until the following Monday morning. Until converted to a Target Mobile Gift Card, Target eGiftCards may only be used at Target.com.

You can also send a Target eGiftCard on Facebook using the Give with Friends app on the Target facebook page. Just select a design, enter the recipient’s details, the date you’d like the Target eGiftCard delivered, and invite your facebook friends to contribute. Guests can contribute to the Target eGiftCard up to two days prior to the send date. You’ll receive an email letting you know you’ve met your contribution goal, or giving you the option to send the Target eGiftCard even if you didn’t meet your goal. The recipient will receive their Target eGiftCard including all the comments each contributor left for them. Give with Friends Target eGiftCards are redeemed just like any other Target eGiftCard: on Target.com or in a store by converting it to a Target mobile Gift Card.

  29. Shanshan

I ordered 20 $5 cards so when I’m done shopping my girls can play with the cards.

  30. Jen

How do you pay with the red card? I am not seeing it in the drop down menu.

  31. tammi

So I read in the fine print that the mobile gift cards don’t work if you have a Sprint phone.

  32. alwaysashley03

Just FYI – when I chose the reusable bag gift card I was charged $1.95 for shipping plus tax. I went back out and chose a regular gift card and a delivery method of MOBILE. It was then a flat $90. I look at it like I almost paid $2+ for the reusable bag. In my opinion, save the extra money and send it to your phone or email! 🙂

    • flgulledge

I got 20 $5 cards with the totes and I wasn’t charged any tax. It must depend on what state you live in as to whether or not they charge you tax??? I used my Target credit card and got free shipping but using that shouldn’t determine whether or not they charge you tax.

      • Brandi

The tax is probably on the shipping. No shipping, no tax.

  33. Michelle

A few things to think about before doing this deal. This is a good deal but if you are buying this for yourself to spend on merchandise and you’re a red card holder your savings in the end will really be closer to $5 instead of $10. I say this because if you’re a redcard holder you get 5% off in store and online when you pay with your card, you obviously do not get that discount if paying by a gift card. So if you make $100 purchase and put in on your card, you will pay $95. If you make $100 purchase and use your gift card you will use up the whole $100 gift card which you paid $90 for. Just something to think about. But $5 savings is still $5, just not as good as $10. If you’re buying these gift cards to give away anyway than it’s a better deal considering you don’t get the 5% off of giftcards anyway. Hope that makes sense 🙂

    • Brandi

However, if you get 20 $5 gift cards with the reusable bag, that’s 20 reusable bags plus $5 more than if you used the red card alone. The bags could be used as gift bags.

    • Michelle

Couldn’t you just do a partial payment with your Target card so that you still get your 5% discount. And then put the rest on your gift card? I dont have a Target card so idk. But I know that you can do partial payments at target so I’m just wondering would this be an option to remedy the issue of not saving as much when using your red card with this deal.

    • Mary

Great deal for me since I don’t have a Target card. Even after shipping up $7.95 plus 4 reusable totes.

    • Erin

Huh? Sure, you’ll get a 5 percent Target redcard discount in store, but this gift card deal is a 10 percent discount. I’ll take the 10 percent, thanks! . . . despite the fact that I do love and frequently make use of Redcard services such as receipt look up, since I am always misplacing receipts!

By the way, I just got a Target flyer in the mail with school supply coupons and a $5/$50 purchase coupon. Plus, a couple weeks ago, I got three $5/$25 grocery purchase coupons from the Cat machines. You can bet I made use of those!

  34. Mary

I have at least 5 $5.00 gift cards from Target. Can I use more than one gift card for the purchase. Plus a credit card for the balance of the gift card.

    • Brandi

You can use 4 gift cards per transaction online. However, there is no limit to the number of gift cards that can be used in the store and you can pay for the balance with a credit card.

  35. Makayla

Awesome! Waiting for the Leap Pad 2 release in a week or so for my 5 year old 😀

  36. Makayla

Did anyone get their egift card code yet?

    • Emily

No, I called customer service and they told me it could take up to 24 hours to get it. I have a feeling that they are holding them until midnight so we don’t use them today and get the double discount.

      • Makayla

Oh I see. So much for the four hour stated on their fine print… hmm.. I’m thinking I was better off with the totes like many people did here or straght out buying the item. What’s targets return policy. Example if I buy the Leappad now and continue returning/ rebuying at the store until close to xmas. Sound pathetic but last year they ran out plus if I keep it seal (which I intend to do) and opene it then and there’s something wrong with it, they will not return it then because it has been fiv months. I hope that makes sense.

        • Makayla

Uhh… my keyboard is dirty and keeps getting stuck and not typing. Sorry for all the missing letters.

          • Erin

That sounds like a lot of time and effort for a Christmas toy. Leappad 2 is releasing a bit earlier than the original Leappad did last year and without quite as much hype. I’ll bet you’ll be able to get one easily in the fall, and save yourself lots of hassle–and returns! Good luck!

        • Emily

Why would you need to buy/rebuy until Christmas? Why not just buy it now and then hide it for Christmas. Then, you don’t have any of that stress.

        • Christina

I would suggest opening it and loading all the software on your computer. It will make Christmas morning much more fun. We purchased a leappad last year for my son. We spent quite a bit of time on Christmas day on the computer getting it setup. I really wish we had it ready to go, would have been more fun for him.

  37. Jackie

I’ve placed 3 orders because 8% off is a good deal! (minus shipping) One order I used my $5 gift cards (from buying items at Target). Then I get 1% cash back from my Visa card, which I can use reward points for more Target gift cards!

  38. Shannon

Why is this not working for me? I get all the way to the end and review my order and it’s still $100, no $10 off???

  39. Tammy

Funny, but it wouldn’t give me the $10.00 off of $100.00. Not sure what I am doing wrong….

    • Alison

It’s not doing it to for me either :(.

    • Tammy

It’s working for real merchandise…Target must have shutdown the $10 off $100 for the gift cards….

  40. Keri

It is not giving me the $10 off either, any ideas what I am doing wrong?

  41. Jules

I can’t get the $10.00 off.. I tried so many times.. is this deal still on?

  42. Monique

    Same here..

  43. Rhonda

It’s not coming up as the $10 off. I called and after my purchase goes through I need to call Target to get my $10 refunded. I was hoping to be able to place a few orders so I can buy gift cards to Disney with it. Not worth it for all the time…..

  44. Maureen

Ugh, apparently I waited too long. I’ve been trying for an hour but the discount wouldn’t work so I called customer service. I was told the gift cards were not included in the promotion and the technical team was working to correct the error. Boo. Hope they don’t go back and cancel those of you lucky enough to have done it in time.

  45. Tomoko

This promo ended? I can’t get the $10 off either.

  46. Jessica

Just tried for the gift card and no go here too. Oh well! I was on the fence anyways!

  47. Melody

Not working for me either 🙁

  48. Lauren

    Not working! Ugh!

  49. Laura

Didn’t try to use it for giftcards, but we do have a wedding next week that I hadn’t got around to buying a gift for yet. Got the $10 discount and the 5% and free shipping from my redcard…we are flying so this worked out great!

  50. Sara

I just talked to Target customer service (twice) and both times received misinformation so take this for what it is worth. The second rep told me that gift cards were not supposed to be included in the promotion. However, the first rep told me it would credit after I submitted which I did. It did not work which is why I called the second time. The second person was the one that told me gift cards weren’t part of the promotion. When I asked her to cancel my order she said it wasn’t possible and I needed to wait 30 minutes. However, I was able to cancel the order myself and in fact if I had waited 30 minutes I would not have had the option to cancel based on the order email. Bottom line: looks like this deal is no more.
