I have this Dyson vacuum and was stoked when I paid $250 for it on clearance at Target. If you are thinking about getting one, you should do it. It seriously rocks and I love mine. I have had it for over a year. What a great price.
Ashley57- Thanks for your review, I am in need of a vacuum, and I really want a Dyson, just not sure about a refurbished one., but at this price I think I am just going to buy it.
I purchased a refurbished yellow dyson from ebay in spring 2009. Either dyson isn’t as good as everyone says, or my refurbished one was a dud, but it isn’t any better than any of the ones I have had before. It works ok, I still use it, but I have to go over the same area more than once like with other vacuums I have had (it leaves stuff behind). I have never been able to tell if dyson is overhyped or my refurb was just not that good.
I noticed it has a warranty and an extended warranty, though, so at least you can contact them if it isn’t working well!
We had the same experience with a refurbished. I will not buy refurbished again.
That’s how I feel. So many people love dysons, I had a feeling my refub was just not up to par.
I’ve had a Dyson Animal for around four years now. I would not recommend buying a Dyson with only a six month warranty. They are expensive to fix, and I’ve already had two warranty repairs. I suspect that the two issues I had are very common–maybe too common. Both times, the customer service folks at Dyson knew exactly what was wrong with the vacuum, despite my difficulty in trying to describe the problems. And when I contacted the repairman and described the problem, he knew which vacuum I had without me telling him! Plus, he recommended replacing the filters *every* year because you won’t get the suction you should. All in all, it’s an OK vacuum for what I paid for it (about $300 for a regularly priced $500 model) but I don’t get the hype surrounding it, and I definitely don’t think it’s worth the MSRP. The full five year warranty is a must in my opinion.
Also, if you haven’t signed up for Ebay Bucks, you should. You get money back on your purchases. Usually 2%, but some stuff is higher. Here is the link: http://ocs.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?CustomerSupport. You get paid out every three months, and then the reward amount is automatically deducted from your total. Easy!
I had a horrible experience with Dyson. The first unit never worked, they sent me a replacement, it NEVER worked. I got a thrid and it worked for a month and burnt out. I was lucky I bought it thru Amazon and got my money back.
I bought this exact one refurbished from woot.com and I love it! I’ve not had a single issue with it and I’ve had it over a year now.
I have had this very one for over 5 years. I love it. Mine is so used I need the brushes replaced. It is recommended to replave a few other parts at the same time. That will cost a little under $100 if I do it myself so I’m thinking of getting this instead. Mine is just a workhorse! I have never had a vacuum over about a year until Dyson. So worth the extra upfront money. Are the ball Dysons extra awesome? TIA
The ball rocks! We have had ours over 5 years and if it ever dies, it will be replaced with another Dyson ball ;). It is, almost certainly, the best household applience investment we have ever made. With a gaggle of boys and a couple dogs, I, too, was lucky to get a year out of a vacuum before. I LOVE my Dyson ball!!
thanks for the feedback Sue
I have the silicone bundt mold and I do not recommend it. If you are a serious baker and want a nice cake this is not the pan for you. It folds in on itself while baking and kind of smells like rubber in the oven 😉
Ditto. I got the bundt cake pan for a gift. Did not like it one bit.
i bought it over a year ago and didn’t really use it until last week. i made pumpkin bread in it and it turned out great. sorry you had a bad experience with it.
I have incredibly thick hair and shed more than multiple huskies. Ever since I was a kid, I’ve been notorious for breaking vacuums with my hair. My sister-in-law was moving and gave us her vacuum exactly like this. I love it because it picks up my hair and my hair is really easy to get out of this vac.
This is not related but I couldn’t figure out where else to post it. I have 2 online coupons that expire Sept 30
