Wow! If you have a Lord of the Rings fan in your house, here’s a super HOT deal you can score from Walmart.com! Hurry on over here where you can preorder The Lord of the Rings: The Motion Picture Trilogy on Blu-Ray for only $9.86 (regularly $19.94) + $1.97 shipping. Keep in mind that this movie is expected to ship on December 4th – but would make an awesome Christmas gift! 😀
Even sweeter, with this purchase you’ll also score FREE Movie Money valid towards one admission ticket to see The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey in theaters on December 14th (Movie Money expires 12/30/12). What a sweet deal!
*Hurry – I’m guessing this deal will sell out fast!
is this the theatrical version or extended?
The title says Original Motion Picture.
You can get each of the 3 movies in the extended version, w/the movie money, for $9.86 each.
the 9.86 isnt blu-ray price though
what is the price of extended version in blu ray? is there a link?
How much Movie Money do you get for the purchase?
I’m wondering the same thing. The description says: Receive Movie Money Towards One Admission Ticket to see “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey”… the wording “towards one admission ticket” makes it sound like it’s not one free ticket. Also later it says: Movie Money Discount Expires 12/30/2012. So it’s just a discount???
Awesome deal!
is this the extendeds https://www.walmart.com/ip/21805544
Just as a heads up The Hobbit comes to theaters on 12/14/2012, so you only have 2 weeks to use the movie money, with Christmas thrown in the middle.
ordered 3 as christmas gifts! yay!
dumb question but this is all three movies, right?
Yes, it says Trilogy. Also I read the description on the Walmart website, and it describes all 3 movies.
is it the extended version?
Do you think that the movie money will be on the front of the wrapping so that you can peel it off and still give it as a gift, but use the movie money??
We already have all 3 on blu ray but I was curious about this deal so went to the Walmart site. It seems too good to be true that it is so cheap. Even the full price of $19.94 is pretty low for all 3 movies. My husband said it could be a “right to purchase” thing and the $9 was like a deposit for the preorder and once it is released you will be charged more. The extended version is over $100 so there is no way this movie should be this cheap. I think Walmart has made a huge mistake.
Here it is on amazon:

It’s $39.96 over there. So this is still a great deal but not outrageously so.
how could you be charged more later? is this the extended version?
well i ordered one… hopefully it is all 3 movies and if it is a price error they honor the ones ordered. lol.
Thank you Collin! I’ve been kicking myself since I missed a Cyber Monday deal on the Blu-Ray Trilogy last year. This is a great price and comes with Hobbit money too, which I’m already planning to see. 😀
is this for the extended version?? does anyone know the difference between the regular and extended version? is it worth holding out for the extended version for kids that are ape nuts over lotr?
My husband loves LOTR and he won’t buy unless it’s the extended version because the movies themselves are longer and include more scenes. He looked at the description and running time and doesn’t believe this is the extended version (and that would also be advertised more prominently if it was.)
Do you have the pay shipping costs?
$9.86 (regularly $19.94) + $1.97 shipping.
I must be blind. I can’t see where I can add it to my cart:( Can someone help me, please?
I just noticed they changed the price to 34.96 reg $44.96. It’s a good thing I got it on time.
