Anyone have any experience with these? My 3 year old LOVES playing with my older sons ipod touch but tends to move or mess things up! I think she might really like this. Thoughts?
My five year old sone LOVES his. We bought it for him as an early Christmas present last year so that he would have something to do while traveling. He practically played it nonstop. He still plays it. He has played it so much that the screen is scratched up from the pen (still visibally functional) and the sound no longer works on it. But he does not care. He still plays it all of the time.
My 3 year old son has had his for over a year and loves it! He plays it all the time. It is also a tough little book as it has been dropped several times but still works fine. I have had no problem with the battery life, they last a long time. I would HIGHLY recommend this product
My sweet 3 y/o daughter LOVES playing with her iXL. We purchased a bunch of the cartridges at Kohl’s at holiday time when they were very inexpensive (sale + 30% off coupon + Kohl’s Cash Back brought them down to around $8 each!) It’s been dropped, gotten a little wet in the rain (briefly) and just keeps on going. Some people complain about battery life but we haven’t experienced that problem. Others are annoyed that you can only add two addt’l cartridges with the existing memory, but 1) two at a time is plenty for my girl (plus the one that’s factory installed and can’t be removed making 3 total at all times), and 2) prices on 16MB SDMI cards are getting cheaper by the day, and that will hold more than you can imagine!
We give it to her any time we think she’s going to get antsy, like in the car, or when she has to wait long periods of time. She just gets lost in the games, and I have to say that tho I’m kind of anti-electronic gaming a bit, I’m impressed by all that she’s learning and doing on it. At this price, you cannot go wrong, imho! lol

my son enjoys with iXL. Recently I purchased it from KMart clearence $22.50.
I bought this a couple months ago when Collin posted it. My almost 3 year old loves it, maybe as much as my ipod but that’s off limits! It’s really neat, it’s got tons of games and stuff for them to do. They can read books, color pictures, play games, sing songs, learn the alphabet and numbers, and lots more. You can upload your own pictures and songs with the usb cord, it’s provided.
I love it in the car on trips, and in a restaurant when I need him to calm down. He’s had it for maybe 6 months now and he still plays with it, and isn’t bored.
Amazon has some other cool games you can purchase for a good price ($5-10). You do have to upload the game to your comp first, then load it their book. You should be able to keep at least 3 games on the book at once if not more. Each game has just as many cool activities as the preloaded monkey game.
The only downside to this product is that it can eat up batteries (4 AA) pretty quick. So we just bought the rechargeable ones and don’t have to worry about it anymore.
It’s pretty durable, my son is constantly dropping it, and it has yet to break it. HTH!!
I’m torn! I think she’d like it, but I’ve only got about $60 left in Amazon gift cards. But can’t afford to get it from elsewhere until next month. Do I get it now or risk waiting? Ugh, decisions, decisions!
My children love them. There are princess games along with cars games you can purchase additionally. The games run about 20-25 full price but I have gotten on clearance for 4.98 and 7.98.

Wendy, I bought mine from amazon in pink about a month ago for $30 and the price seems to be staying right around there. I have yet to purchase additional games as I too was hoping to get amazon gc’s thru my swagbucks acct to pay for them. It looks like it would be perfect for toddlers. My 2 1/2 yr old daughter plays with her brothers nintendo 3ds and amazingly knows what icons to press to get to what she wants. She does end up deleting things so I bought this for Christmas. I can’t wait to give it to her.

I have to admit the Kohls return policy is what got me to buy one for my niece today. If I get it and it looks like something she wouldn’t be into, I’ll return it.
My daughter is 2 1/2 and loves it, I also save it for car trips, grocery shopping, etc as much possible. Have seen it regularly on amazing for about 30. My Walmart had games on clearance for 5 a few days ago.
I have had all colors of the iXL in my cart on amazon for awhile now and have checked the prices elsewhere. Does anyone know why the blue iXL is always cheaper? I want the pink one for my daughter which is $8 more on amazon and its $92 on khols.

I’ve heard the Fisher Price has discontinued the iXL, I hope that they come out with a new version and that the new games will still work on the old system.
