Check out what other Amazon reviewers have said about this vacuum…

This is our second Roomba and we couldn’t be more pleased. It is much quieter than our old one was. Love to see it backup off of the charging station and go to work, even on weekends. We have two cats and this one really keeps things up between running our Dyson vacuum.

The Roomba 560 is a great device; after weeks of use it’s still going strong. I was originally concerned that the capacity was too small to clean four rooms, but after the first cleaning I was convinced. The regular cleaning keeps everything ship shape. The automatic cleaning schedule and self docking for recharges make this device a great maid.

I just got this today and I am amazed at the amount of dirt it is picking up! I have a 100 pound labrador whose hair is all over and I can’t believe how clean my floors, carpet and rugs look now. The dirt container is so easy to empty and the robot is wonderful because it covers everything, it goes all over and reaches corners with those little brushes . This roomba is life changing and I just can’t believe it took me so long to decide on getting it! It goes from floor to carpet to shaggy rugs without trouble. It hasn’t tangled on anything, it just goes all over. This is my best purchase ever!!!

Let us know if you have a Roomba and what you think!

I just got the 770! I’m so excited to get it! This is a great price for the lower model! 🙂

Is this a refrub? Or new item

I have a 550 model for about 2 yrs now and I LOVE my roomba. My little man would always have crumbs allover the house and this is FANTASTIC since no sane person would wanna vacuum or sweep 4-5 times a day with a little one.

All I can say is BEST purchase i made.

I had a Roomba when they came out years ago & I loved it! If you have the money to spend on one I say go for it! I hope to get one again sometime in the future!

For those of you that have dogs, we have 3, an I vacuum up a Dyson canister full of hair once a week. Will this stand up to that, or will I just be constantly emptying it? Also…if a dog was to grab and shake this, would it “live?”

    • meg

We have two dogs, one a 100 pound American bulldog. First of all, these things are heavy, so your dogs probably wouldn’t even want to pick it up, or be able to. Second, after two years, my dogs are STILL skittish around it, since it moves randomly, and they would rather leave the room its in than be anywhere near it. When i use the beacons to keep it in one area, the dogs quickly figure it out and go lay down in a room that Roomba is NOT in!!

I would love to buy one if we live in a house!

I had one of these for 4 years. In my opinion, it’s not going to be able to keep up with a child or a pet. This is ideal for apartment/condo living with minimal dirt. For that, it does a fabulous job and you really won’t need anything else. You will most likely need to empty and clean it out after each use. I always had to. We just gave ours away because we bought a small home and had a child and it became almost useless.

    • Jen

Morgan, could you explain what you mean about not being able to keep up with a child? I have a 1 year old and we live in a house and I’m thinking of getting this… but what specifically do you think I need to know that might make it not worth it? Thanks in advance for your help!

      • Morgan

I don’t know about your 1 year old, but my one year old crumbles up crackers for sport and tears all sorts of paper into bits on a daily basis. The Roomba would get most of the crumbs and about half the paper. It couldn’t handle anything bigger than a pea (or most peas or that matter). I just found it easier and more effective to do the job with a conventional vacuum. Also, by the time it finished our downstairs (maybe 800 ft.) it was out of a charge. (This could have been because ours was 4 years old). I think you could get one and have it run once a day during nap time and then bring out a normal vac every 4 or 5 days for a quick once over to get the random whatevers the Roomba left behind- but to me, that just kind of defeated the purpose. I also just hated emptying the thing so often – carpet collects a lot of dust.

        • Jenny

It is recomended to get the 770 model for more heavy duty jobs. This model (I think) says it takes 6 hours to charge. The 770 takes only 2 hours before it’s good to go again. I’ve done TONS of research on these things and the 770 is much stronger. If you use it once a day or even every other day, then I don’t see it filling up in the middle of a cleaning.

        • Jen

Thanks Morgan, that totally makes sense– I appreciate it!

Em ~ I had an earlier model. It worked well on wood floors and tile. It doesn’t even begin to compare to a Dyson for picking up dog hair. Unless they have gotten lots better, a Dyson is the best way to go for dog hair!

    • Jenny

IDK how everyone is raving about the Dyson vacumme’s??? I bought it when it first came out. The first one right out of the box would not turn on. The second replacement they sent (1 month later!) didn’t work! Right out of the box! The third replacement (1 month later again!) would turn on, but had horrible suction. I just put by the road on trash day and considered it a loss! 🙁

      • Kara

I’m a Dyson believer too…two big hairy dogs and a toddler and it’s like my second husband ;). Not sure why you had so many issues, but I even used mine to suck up all those terrible pine needles after Christmas and it didn’t so much as hiccup! It used to be hours of hands and knees and getting poked.

    • Em

Thanks! I’ll just stick with my Dyson, which wasn’t much more than this thing, lol!
Jenny- I don’t know about the early versions, but my purple one works great and has held up to the carpeted house (sooo getting hardwood floors one day, carpet is nasty) with 3 dogs. We finally but the bullet after 3 Walmart vacuums stopped sucking and started sucking! Hah

Batteries go out on them very quickly, I believe they cost $50 to replace. We had the roomba and the Scooba, not worth the $250 each we paid for them in my opinion!

    • Lisa

Batteries are $20-25 a piece on Ebay.

      • Sarah

If that sounds like a good deal to you after you have already spent $280 on the roomba…. We had to send ours off for repair and the brushes have to be replaced because hair gets caught in them. I wouldn’t buy a battery on eBay you have no idea how old it is. She asked what we thought IN MY OPINION a waste of money!

    • Nick

I completely agree batteries should last longer. Plus there are many other parts for this glorified sweeper that you have to replace. A few different brushes and the wheels after a while. Batteries are expensive unless you trust batteries from eBay or non authorized dealers. Remember batteries go bad just sitting there over time. I have owned a couple different roombas and scoobas. And have had issues with most of them. Having to send back for repairs or replacements. Will not buy again rather buy a dyson

I have had mine for 2 years and the battery is still good. I am not a fan of the virtual walls but I just close doors and I mainly use it on the tile which is 50% of our house. With two boys and 2 cats, I try to use it daily for at least one hour. I love it!

I have had my roomba for two years now.My mom got it for us as a thank you gift when she did some rehab after a knee replacement and had to live with us for about 8 weeks, as she normally lives by herself. We love it! We have a larger home, wood floors on the main – and two shorthaired dogs who shed all over ( one Dachshund, one 100 pound American Bulldog)plus three teens. I use roomba every three days or so and I think it does a great job…especially because I don’t have to do anything but push the button and empty the bins afterwards! I usually let it go while I head off to do errands, as it is noisy. I come home to a better swept floor than I would have done! I think it does a good job on my upstairs carpeting too. You can use the little beacons to keep it concentrated in one area for more thorough cleaning, but I find in an hour or so it does a pretty good job on my first floor of about 1500 square feet. In terms of upkeep, we did replace the brushes and rollers after about a year or so, but , knock on wood, no issues with the battery yet. I think its one of the best appliances I have ever owned!

  12. Lauren

I have a Roomba 700 series (770 I think). LOVE it! I have two dogs in the house including one yellow Lab who sheds like CRAZY, and it does an awesome job! This is my second one, as the first one stopped docking itself after a few months. One call to customer service and had a brand new one in 10 days. Great customer service!
