I am planning to buy most of the free items in CVS. Can i use the ecb from one product to buy another ?

    • Ashley57

      Yes.

  2. Rebecca

Collin, I just love your site. If it weren’t for these posts I would never know about all these deals. Before I started reading your site I refuse to shop at cvs, walgreens, and rite aid because I thought their prices were too high, but now I get things there way cheaper than other stores.

I went to my cvs this morning and did all the free deals and my cvs was awesome. They had things pretty much organized and even had an employee walking around helping people find items. And all the other customers were friendly and helpful to each other. Made me smile seeing people being so nice to one another.

    • C

I use to buy all of my kiddos diapers and household/personal care stuff at Walmart. I never shopped at the drugstores because like you I thought the prices would be high. I never knew about ECB or RR or UP’s…then I discovered Collin’s awesome site. 🙂 Wow, now I buy almost all of my stuff at the drugstores and I roll my rewards one week to the next. I love it. Thank you so much for saving my family so much money. H2S rocks!!!

  3. Janel

I wont be able to make it til almost noon so I really hope at least some of this stuff is left. *fingers crossed*

    • Jenn

Last year the sale (also super awesome) ran from Thanksgiving through Saturday, and I went all three days to keep getting items (so I wouldn’t have to spend as much out of pocket or irritate a cashier by continually doing transactions), and they never really ran out of stuff! It looks like this year more people know about the sales, so it may not be as great, but I’m hoping so! Did you get your stuff?

  4. katie

Just finished my deals at a cvs that opened at 8. Very few other shoppers, fantastic cashiers pointing out all the items, etc. Such a fun time and great deals.

    • Steph

Same here. Manager was extremely nice and pointed out where the free items were. Asked twice if I needed help locating anything. Most of the free items were upfront but a few I had to search for. Everything was in stock and marked. Easy trip.

      • Whitney

Cashiers and managers were great here too! Asked me several times if I needed help finding anything.

  5. katie

just got back! there were only a few people, it was very relaxed. i found all the stuff i wanted, and rolled over my bucks to get some swiffer pads that i actually needed!

  6. Shanna

I just got back! After all my coupons and ecb’s from last week, I got $25 worth of items for $1.89 and got back 13.60 in ecb’s back! I could not find the command hooks, so I am going to go back later. I also saw someone post the olive q have reset, so I will see if I can get a couple. Good week at cvs!

    • Hatice K.

in my store, command hooks were not on the shelf, they were in a big box at the bottom

    • Diana

In my store the command hooks were up front at the registers.

    • tiffany

Thanks Shanna I just printed the olive q:)!!!

      • Shanna

I just printed out 2! Thanks for the help guys, back to CVS I go!

        • Carol

Where is the olive coupon? I was so mad when I got home from Walgreens Friday and they didn’t scan my 2 olive coupons! So they were just gone forever. I was in a different city and plus how could I prove I gave them to her? I sure hope I can print 2 more and ill use them at CVS, forget Wags.

  7. ricky

HI, I was wondering if anyone has figured out which items from the thanksgiving day ad are already on sale and printing the extra care bucks

    • Marci

From what I see the only item getting extra bucks now and getting extra bucks starting Thursday is the Pepsi/Mtn. Dew 12 packs deal. Unless I’m missing something. All new extra bucks deals start on Thursday and the ones in effect now end on the 21st or Wed. Hope that makes sense.

  8. C

i just got back from my CVS. amazing deals. i got almost everything I wanted with the exception of the children’s advil and hot wheels car. manager was nice and gave me a raincheck. i spent $0.87 oop (had $10 ECB to begin with) and got back nearly
$10 ECB. 🙂 Love it. I went at close to 6am and the store was empty. Didn’t have my kiddos with me so I was able to grab stuff a lot faster. CVS is definately the place to be this week!!!

  9. Hatice K.

i went saturday at 8 pm , cashier was really nice. I found most of the items.
There is a $2 of coupon inside the Purabsorb iron.

  10. Lisa

I rolled & rolled & rolled… My heart is now content, lol. ( only things I couldn’t grab where the make up kit & the command hooks).

    • Mia

Couldn’t find make up kit either. Cashier substituted with a pricier set and manually printed our the reward! She said that they keep a lot of items in storage unit…

      • Lisa

        That’s awesome!

  11. Amanda M

Today paid 29.65 and ended up with 39.43 in ECB! LOVE LOVE CVS and Thank you for the match up!

  12. Kelly

I just went to CVS and I’m so happy now 🙂 I had $10 ecb’s from last week so I only paid tax and kept rolling the ecb’s to the next transaction.

    • Jessica

I did the exact same thing! It felt great to only pay tax and walk away with the same amount in ecb’s I started with!

  13. Lynda

I can’t find the visine coupon… any help on how to locate it??

    • Marci

I found mine on CVS.com under coupons but that was late last night. Don’t know if all the prints were taken or not. It was the $4 off the tired eyes visine.

      • raz

on visine tired eyes my visine has its own peelie of $4 off so even without the cvs coupon, it will come out free just don’t forget the peelie before paying.m BUT on my store the manager herself scanned both the $4 peelie and the $4 off cvs q.. so a big ‘ol $4 money maker for me on that!

  14. Tiffany

Unfortunately I waited to long and they were wiped out of the things I wanted. Anyone know if they ever restock these items?

    • Megan

Yes, they do. I used to work for CVS. They will get a truck in at some point this week. Some CVS’ weren’t given enough heads up on the sale to place an extra large order. I was told by a CVS employee that if they didn’t get what I wanted in by Thursday, to bring the ad in and they would give me a raincheck. Call your CVS to ask when their truck comes in.

    • Jessica

Like pp said, they will tell you when their truck comes in. My CVS gets their shipment in every Monday.

      • Tiffany

        Thanks Megan & Jessica!

  15. Laura

This is my 1st experience w/ big ad sales like this!!! All I can say is I was very thrilled to have gone…the cashiers and manager were very nice and helpful! I paid $8.06 for 1st transaction…rolled ecbs and pd $0.23 for 2nd transaction and ended with paying $0.24 for last transaction and still have $9.00 for next trip! Thank you SOOOOO much Colin….you are the reason I started couponing! 🙂

  16. Megan

Thermacare: Unfortunately the Thermacare coupon isn’t supposed to work. It says Trial Size right on the box and the coupon excludes trial sizes. If your cashier doesn’t catch it, it will work but mine did and reversed the coupon. I didn’t realize this until the cashier brought it to my attention.

    • rosana

i had no problem using the coupon

      • terri

Megan, you’re right, it shouldn’t be used..just because some cashier’s don’t catch it doesn’t make it right.

        • raz

I agree, when in doubt ask the cashiers first coz anyways we are getting a lot for free… Makes me feel so good when I’m doing it right and going home earning money with EB. On my charmin I was able to use the .25cents of fr 10-15 pg and on the smaller size gillette shaving gel the $2.37 I was able to use the $1 off fr pg 10-28, but again I asked the cashiers first if these items are trial sizes (coz i honestly don’t know either). Coz sometimes it doesn’t mean that a smaller size or a single item is the trial/travel size.

    • Elvira V.

Same here – cashier said no because it was a trial size.

  17. Michelle

Paid $20.86 oop and received back $23.69 in ECB. Only a few shoppers in the store and found everything I was looking for. They had many of the items up by the register and on end caps. Cashier said I had the longest string of ECB’s of the day so far! 🙂

  18. Guest

I was just wondering if ECB’s can be used on entertainment gift cards. I know they can’t be used on CVS gift cards. I know Target rings up the entertainment gift cards differently than their own store gift cards, so the rules are different for the different types of cards. I was wondering if CVS was the same way. My guess is no, but I figured I should ask before assuming.

    • raz

no, you can’u use them to buy gift cards.. I recently asked abt it coz I have so much, I’m scared they’ll just expire if I don’t pay attention 🙂

  19. Kristi

I had a great time at CVS this morning. I did three transactions, spent $.76 and ended up with over $24 in ECB. I’m thinking of using my ECB to buy the iTunes gift card and then roll the ECB from that into Thursday’s deals. CVS is my favorite place lately 🙂

    • rosana

awesome, i was so happy too with the stuff that i got. love cvs.

    • Natasha

Can you type your transactions out?

    • terri

You can’t use ECBs to buy gift cards…exclusions are on the bottom of the ecb.

  20. jenn

I don’t know if anyone has mentioned this yet, but I had a coupon for $1 off any U by Kotex. It came with a sample in the mail and didn’t exclude the liners, like the coupon in the paper did. Just got home from my most awesome trip ever! Pre-coup total of $51, post coupon total of $3.29! I started with 11 EB and ended with like 26 or 28. Sweet!

    • irene

Oh, I may have that q too. Thanks for the reminder!

  21. TIFFANY PHILLIPS

Loved the trip to CVS this week. It was like black friday couponing this week. There were at least 10 of us standing outside waiting for our CVS here in OHio to open at 8am. Then it was a made dash inside lol LOVE TO COUPON!!!

  22. Nicole

Just got back from CVS! Great deals!

As a head ups, when I scanned my ExtraCare Card I got a coupon for $3 off Playtex tampons (36 count or higher).
36-40 count is on sale this week for $7.99 with a $4 ECB. So $3.99 out of pocket and $4 ECB.
Love free tampons! Such an annoying this to have to spend money on….

  23. Elissa

There was a peelie coupon on the South Beach Diet bars for $1.00 off 🙂

  24. kim

The Listerine coupon from Facebook will not work with this week’s deal because the coupon states it is for 1L or larger 🙁

  25. roxy

None of the Listerine coupons are good on this deal.

    • Kidsallgone

I had a Listerine coupon for $1 off that worked (right size) with the deal this week. I am sorry that I can’t remember where it came from, but it wasn’t from the newspaper. I want to say that it came in a brochure from CVS (either in the mail or from a diabetes brochure). Sorry I’m so slack 🙁 Anyway…great deal for me!

    • raz

If i remember it right there was a coupon of .50 cents off 10-28 ss for listerine that cld be used for this deal

      • mel

I had $1/1 off 500ml or larger coupons from my dentist’s office a few months ago, so I scored 2 free!

  26. N

Anyone know I you can use you extrabucks at any cvs?

    • Neena

Yes, you can use your ECB at any CVS. I have 2 in my town and frequently use the ECB that I earned at one location at the other site. 🙂

      • N

        Ok thank you for replying!

      • Gil

We’re in FL on vaca & used my GA ECB’s down here. Shocked to see everything still on the shelves here-up in Atlanta they’d be wiped out early Sun. morning.
Cashiers were great @ both locations.

  27. Merve Ozbas (@merozb66)

I went to my local CVS today & unfortunately some of the sale items from the ad were not tagged for their sale price. I ended up not getting anything today but I hope to go tomorrow. I wonder if there will be anything left or if they will change the price tags..

    • Janelle

None of my tags were up yet either. My store puts the tags up Sunday morning, so it’s hard to tell things are on sale but everything rings up correctly!

    • debra

You can always scan the item at the red machine to see the price. Even though they may not have changed the tag doesn’t mean the item isn’t in the computer for the sale price. hth

    • mel

Just because the tags aren’t out doesn’t mean the item isn’t in the system as being on sale. All you had to do was either have the cashier price ck or scan the item at the kiosk. Now you take the chance of the items being out of stock. I would have taken the chance and bought the stuff anyway b/c the sale date in the as says 11/18.

    • Gil

      R u kidding?
Why didn’t you just take your CVS ad with you, or your deal plans you wrote down from Collin’s post?
Unlikely these deals will still be there…

    • raz

yeah some of mine were not tagged either but i scanned those items on the coupon machine jst to make sure that it matches thge price on the ad. If it does then it will produce the Extra bucks.

  28. jessbees

Does anyone know if my balance after doing the Nexxus Buy $20, get $10 ECB deal last month will carry over to the current deal? There wasn’t an update on my receipt today. Thanks!

  29. jessbees

Does anyone know if my balance after doing the Buy $20, Get $10 ECB deal last month will carry over and apply to the current Nexxus deal? I didn’t see an update about this on my receipt today. Thanks!

    • mel

no, this is a new deal, not a carryover.

      • jessbees

        Thanks for clarifying, Mel.

  30. rn30032

the energy drink has a MBG on it so keep your reciept…u have to send the mthe 2 empty bottles…so you get paid for buying it basically!!! 🙂

    • Kidsallgone

OK, I give up…..MBG???? Send the what? Where?

      • melissa

        Ditto! what???

    • Lauren

It seems a little dishonest to me to buy something with the intent of sending it back in for the money-back guarantee.

  31. Molly O.

I thought we were getting a P&G insert today, and bought 3 newspapers only to find out there were none. 🙁

    • Patti

I only had one insert, I feel like I am missing the good ones!!
      very disappointing.

  32. edy

Great things today! Went late at 1pm found most of the items. I purchase a candy bar and got a 10/50. Then I started my purchase, and got a 3 cvs cpn for playtex and our sunday paper had a cpn for buy one get one free spend 5 out of pocket for 2 boxes and got 4 bucks back. Good luck and happy shopping!

  33. Ponnie

Got everything listed in the ad that would be free! Spent $11 OOP and still got $6 extra care bucks! 🙂

  34. Lyndi Hedgecock

our cvs was packed! there were probably 40+ people there and we dont even live in a big town! LOL! but i got all my great extra bucks buys plus 4 pillow pets! $7.50 for the big ones is great i think! and i also picked up some of the tasty hershey kisses that were b2g1! what a great day to shop at cvs! 🙂

  35. Fanny

I bought three Hallmark gift/money cards at .99 cents each and was pleasantly surprised to get a $3 ECB. Good luck everyone & happy shopping!!!

    • debra

I tried that deal today and didn’t get the ecb’s. Keep seeing where others have.

  36. Jo-Ann

Some things were well stocked, others not so well. It seems the more expensive items, like the Pur absorb, Collagen and Nasal Ease were not given much shelf space so there were only a few of each, while items like the Nips, Mac’n’Cheese, & Cepacol were.

  37. Elvira V.

On Gillette shaving gel/foam the restrictions are 6oz and up, so it did not work on the small one 🙁

    • mel

on the coupon or the deal? B/C the small gillette fusion was tagged with the $2 ECB sticker at my store. My sister bought one for her husband and the ECB printed.

      • Carol

There is also a P&G coupon for $1, making it FREE! Not sure why Collin doesn’t mention this coupon in the above scenario.

  38. Annie

The back of the sleep aid had a 5.00 peelie. It can be used but rings in for the 1.99 price

    • Kidsallgone

I saw that when I got home (grrrrrr!!!) LOL! I peeled it off because I tried 2 of the pills last night and I think I might like them. I remember Dr Oz saying some good things about the ingredient Valarium (not Valium lol). Anyway, I can take the $5 off and get 2 more + another $1 item…(maybe a coke?) with the overage. I won’t get back any ecb’s because I already shopped and reached my limit but free is still amazing 🙂 🙂 🙂

the register will auto-decuct the coupon to the sale price of $1.99. I tried, hoping the overage would apply to my order, but no luck, the register did it all on its own! Even the cashier thought it was going to take the full value off.

great deals this week!!! love it! store i went to today (around 1pm) had plenty of everything i wanted. (all freebies!) i had $10 & $2 ECB from last week. so i rolled them, spending $1.22 oop and got back $16+!! 🙂 even after paying tax, i still made over $3 & got many items! yay!!!
btw, that command IP for $1 off didn’t work for me, since the sale price is .99. but i still used the .50Q!
i can’t believe RA & Wags have NOTHING this week and CVS ROCKED!! 🙂

Some extra deals that I noticed while I was there. The command hooks had a 50 cent Q in them, and I love these so I will buy more for 49 cents each. Even better the Somnopure Sleep tabs had a $5 Q with no size restriction, the cashier price adjusted the Q to match the price (1.99) so it ended up being a 1.99 moneymaker after the ECB.

    • Chris G

The Q was a peelie attached to the back of the package.

The Lindsay Olive Coupon still prints from their FB page, it is marked out, but I just printed 2 from the link! Makes them FREE!!

I heart olives almost as much as I do this website, LOL. Thanks Collin for your hard work this time of year, don’t know how you do it!

Did anyone else get a $1 off Chapstick coupon from the magic coupon machine? I did on 2 cards and was able to get the Chapstick Free plus $1 money maker just from their own coupon! worked without problems!

    • Dee Dee

      What is the Chapstick deal?

    • We Coupon

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe the deal is for Carmex and the coupon is for Chapstick. Both lip care products but different brands. This seems to be another case of “just because it worked doesn’t make it right”…

Inside of my Command hooks, there is a $.50/1 Command hook at CVS only! 🙂

  45. Deb

HI…Did anyone else have a sign posted at their store only 2 transactions for the sale items? This would keep you from rolling.

    • melissa

the CVS i went to had a sign that just said, separate transactions just have to get back in line.

ive never shopped cvs before because its about 10 minutes away. This week I decided to send my husband 🙂 Now I have $18 in ecbs scattered in about 6 diff prints. I want to use these for the huggies deal. Do you need 1 item per ecb print like you have to have at walgreens or can I use all 6 towards 3 packs of huggies? i didnt see it stated in their coupon policy. Ty in advance

    • Laura

Its not like Walgreens…you can apply the ecbs towards the 3 pkgs…not 1 per item like Wags! 🙂

  47. Ami

My son is home sick today and says “mommy is this what you do every day”? lol. I explained how today is special…especially at CVS! Thank you SOOOOO much for doing the work you do!

There is a Carmex display near the front registers and attached to the display is a tear-off pad of $1/1 Carmex. I didn’t want to be a piggy, so I only took 4 😉 and got 3 for free. I saved a coupon to bring to my daughter, but when I looked at the coupon at home, it was for a bigger size. I felt bad for about 2 seconds because I thought WTH? Why would they attach the coupons to that display!!??!! Geez!!!

PS…I started with about $35 in ecb’s and bought over $100 worth in 3 transactions and came home with $55 in ecb’s. And I didn’t pay a penny OOP.

PSS…I have a question: Can anyone tell me how in the world CVS is making any money from couponers like me? I mean I did buy some other things, but I paid with my ECB’s. Just curious. THanks for any replies 🙂 🙂 🙂

    • irene

That’s what DH says… couponers are not helping the economy. I disagree. We create cash flow and jobs with coupons. As far as how CVS makes money, we are a very small percentage. There are so many people who only buy what they need and don’t even have reward cards… gasp! They offset our spending habits easily. LOL!

    • C

i totally agree irene. i think there are plenty of CVS customers that buys things for full price. my husband is one of those people. i don’t know how many times i’ve been behind someone that doesnt even have their store card.

      • Rebe

I agree with you ladies. I forget where I read this, but it was an article about the TINY percentage of coupons made available every Sunday that are actually redeemed.

    • lule

My store had a Save $1.00 on carmex BUT was on ANY carmex HEALING SKIN CARE (4OZ. OR LARGER) , Lucky you, was for the lipstick!

      • mel

pharmacy is where they make a bulk of their money. Plus all the ppl running in for booze, cigarettes, junk food/soda & milk. Couponers are a very small percentage in the overall picture.

        • Ashley57

I have wondered about this too. Another thing I am thinking is their items are very overpriced to start with. Things on sale at CVS are sometimes still cheaper at Wal-Mart/Target. Not to say we would buy those…but it still may fool others :). And, we are getting the items free, but the coupons are being reimbursed by the manu., so CVS is still getting that money.

Just an FYI: the Thermacare & Command Q’s did not work. Thermacare specifies “no trial size” and the Patch on sale IS trial size. Also, I tried the Command hook & it was rejected by the register. I did use the Right Guard, Children’s Advil, & Glade Plug-Ins Q’s without issue though! 🙂
