(Thanks, Keri!)

Had a very difficult time trying to make the site work. Waited on hold for customer service for a half hour (gave up). Watched as every one of my selections were changed to unavailable. Got nowhere and wasted a bunch of time. While I appreciate the heads-up on this offer, Lowe’s has some serious issues with their website. Very frustrated, and still rug-less.
I know happened the same thing to me the only thing that i did was that i got to talk to a rep and told me that it was a mistake and that for those that got to purchase the company will drop the charges made to the credit card. Soooo messed up!
i called to, error on their part. They are removing them for review. =(
I just tried to look up area rugs on their website and none of the $10 ones showed up so I’m going to guess they sold out of them already 🙁
I just talked to Lowes’s….$10 price on their website is a MISTAKE and they are trying to fix it right now. He told me they will not honor the $10 price and that all orders will be cancelled. Boo!
there are none showing up at $10 for me.
They just posted an error message on their website. Darn- knew this was too good to be true!
I checked them out and there were 3 types to choose from. I tried adding the one I wanted to my cart, but it sent me to an empty cart. I tried going back and adding it again….but it appears they are ALL gone 🙁 I think they might have pulled them, because there isn’t even a page that says they are out of stock. Oh well. 🙁
Pleases don’t get your hopes up. I ordered one right away and my store called me to tell me it was a price mistake and they can not honor it but if I want the rug still it’s only $665. I knew it was too good to be true but worth a shot.
🙂 665, a small difference, i may have to pass lol
🙂
I know… I was like my husband might kill me at that price 🙂 not sure who put $10 in as a price but that’s so beyond way off!
i got the red & black one for our bedroom. Got confirmation email & money withdrawn for account. I was hoping for a netural color but Ill take what i can get 🙂 Thanks Collin. Will update if order gets cancelled.
Ivanareichelt same thing here but then the store called to let me know it was a price mistake. They have already refunded my money. Just so you know.
Wow! I ordered one; I hope it goes through.
I think they got it fixed, prices are back to normal!
None available when I just checked. Bummed!
Hmm… They already pulled the $21.85 from my account. Wonder how long it will take to get a refund… Hopefully not until my 12/14 pickup date. And I agree with the poster who said someone on the Lowe’s end is probably going to catch it for posting the wrong price and creating such chaos. Be nice if they offered a coupon or something (even $5 or so). Oh well!
I ordered two and I have an email confirmation. I hope they honor the price, I’ve been checking clearance rugs for a long time, with no luck. These are the right size and they match! Crossing my fingers!
Do you have a confirmation, or just an email that says your order is being processed? They usually send a processing email and then follow it up with a confirmation email.
I just CALLED my store and ordered 2 rugs…. 🙂
can you tell me what number you callled from… who was it the store near your town..? let me know please.. and what did you say to them.. thanks!
Looks like they are back up to regular price – couldnt order any – empy cart everytime 🙁 Congrats to those who got them. I hope they go through the order for you :)’
Mine still show for $10. Refreshed page a few times.
All Gone!!!
no more $10 rugs listed
I just put in the zip code for my local store, and it shows 20 rugs for $10. Too bad I just bought a rug about a month ago. Makes me wish I needed a rug!
which area are you in? I can’t find any?
I just refreshed the page and they are all gone now. 🙁
I would go into the store…I purchased two of the rugs listed a few months ago for $8.50 each…thought it was a mistake but it wasn’t!
can I ask what store? and were thy with the other rugs or in clearance or something?
Ordered 2 rugs took my credit card Info hopefully will get them! I think they should honor the price their fault! !!
I just called Lowes.com customer service to verify this incredible deal, but Lowe’s is not going to let you buy them at this price. They are working with the Manufacturer, but said it is a big mistake and they apologize for any inconvenience. Oh well! Would have been awesome!
I have an email confirmation for my order of 2. No cancellation email or phone call yet. I wonder what will happen.
That’s not our problem, they should still honor it!
Comments like this are so distrubing! I gaurentee that more than 80% (if not higher) of the people who responded this this ‘deal’ where not even looking for a rug. Most just ‘stumbled’ across a deal that was ‘too good to be true’ (that even had a WARNING lable posted on it). The total THRILL of getting an amazing deal took over(to some it is like their drug of choice and you get a high off of it). Call it getting a high or being greedy but you all of a sudden decided that you MUST have a rug for $10. If you ingorned that warning sign and ordered a rug, you are NOT entitled to ANYTHING! If you were honestly out looking for a rug and came across it YOURSELF on the Lowes website, I might could understand your frustration and feelings that Lowes ‘should still honor it’. I truly believe that if this was an error on Lowes end, they will refund the money paid for your purchaese. I firmly believe that Lowes owes NOTHING else than that(not even a coupon for your future purchase). If they choose to give something in return for their error then kudos to them. Don’t get me wrong, I am all for fantastic customer service. I LOVE hip2save and have been visiting this site very regularly for over 2 years now BUT it appears that Lowes might have had a computer error. I know my computer doesn’t always act the way I think it is suppose to act. I also don’t think Lowes asked for this error to be posted on every couponing blog on the world wide web and to have there site flooded with orders and angry customes trying to get a rug that they know they are NOT entitled to. My heart goes out the the worker/workers who is being blamed for this and the many Lowes workers who are trying to fix this situation. How many of us are perfect and make NO mistakes in our job! It is definitely not a good time to be without a job either. Shame on couponers who think more about a good deal and their entitlement to it than their fellow man. Greed has so overtaken our cutlure and it is so very disturbing! I am DEFINTELY NOT referring to all of couponers. There are MANY, MANY kind and caring ones out there! Also, thank you Collin for all the time and effort you put in to help some many find amazind deals. It is sad how a few bad apples give us all a bad name to some of these big companies! 🙁
Well said, Diane! I ordered ONE rug, because we recently had to throw out the one in my son’s room, and we ARE in the market for a new one. Still, I am not concerned or freaking out about this AWESOME deal Collin posted. If it works out, great! If it doesn’t, oh well. Lowe’s doesn’t owe me anything, and if they cancel my order, I have every confidence that they will reverse the $10.70 I paid for the rug. Nor am I concerned that they will honor my order, but charge me more than the $10.70 I agreed to pay without contacting me first. People seriously need to chill out!
Jen – I ordered one rug as well. We have actually been in the market for a new living room rug for TWO YEARS! But they are just so expensive we never have had room in the budget to buy a new one. I was so excited to see this deal this morning and finally have the opportunity to put a new rug in the living room – but I guess I will have to wait a little longer!
Kate, were you able to order? I just checked my order# on the Lowe’s page, and it says “Ready for Pickup”! I’m excited, but I’m going to call first and make sure it’s actually ready, because the email I received said it wouldn’t be ready until 12/14. If you did order, and it hasn’t been cancelled, don’t give up! It may work out. Good luck getting the rug if you ordered, or finding one you can afford soon if you didn’t.
Duh… I just read that you did order. Go to the Lowe’s website and enter your order number and see what it says. Maybe it will work out!
Thank you for your comment! I completely agree It has truly saddened me to read some of the comments on here. I wonder how many people fight that hard to give the homeless man/woman $10 on the street. A rug, though? Oh man! It’s life or death. Give me a break!
First off you are all reading waaay to much into this issue, whether or not it was a mistake is really besides the point. Lowes is one of the largest, and most profitable, companies in the world, do you really think that somebody would get fired over a possible computer glitch? I can tell you with total confidence that they would not, and Lowes will not even notice the hit they would take.
Secondly if it were a computer error then ALL or ONE of the rugs would have been on sale, not a sparatic few. If it were an error, which could be but I doubt it, it was a human error and that person would probably be disciplined to the same extent whether or not it was one or 10,000 rugs sold.
Thirdly (Almost done) do you honestly think everybody who bought a rug was from a couponing site? You say that those of us who took advantage of the deal give couponers everywhere a bad name? Do you really think the company would look at the sales receipts and automatically assume that EVERYONE who purchased a rug is a couponer with malice to Lowes in his/her heart.
Lastly, I have to address the last comment of your post about big companies disliking people that use coupons, I read that and honestly found myself torn between laughing and feeling bad for you. If you make comments and are completely misinformed about something then you’re just fueling a fire of people that read your post and assume you must be an expert and you should realize this fact and start researching a bit. Companies LOVE couponers; Microsoft and apple just to name a couple bigger ones, don’t put out many coupons because they don’t need to, have you ever wondered why the more popular brands don’t put out as many? I can assure you its not because they’re jaded over a ‘raw deal’ or two, they don’t because their competition is limited and they make their money no matter what.
Companies like Walmart accept coupons because they get their money from the manufacturer no matter what, and a store coupon is issued on the knowledge that you’ll pick yourself up something special from them with your savings, which is hard not to do and you know it.
I don’t mean to offend anybody here, but I am sick and tired of people posting comments without any sort of knowledge of a subject and forcing undue guilt on those that read and may not have a lot of knowledge on that same subject, so I say take advantage of every deal and coupon.
diane, my guess is you are always looking for something to crusade against lol
there are those who order and see what happens (like me)
there are those who scream foul if they dont get their way
but the ones who really crack me up are the ones who look for every opportunity to get on their high horse. oh the old ” I bought 6 but 7 is just greedy” refrain and you have brought up a new rule I wasnt aware of, its ethically wrong to buy a product just because its a great deal, you must already be looking for that product when the deal comes along.
HOLY MOLY!! That was awesome! I’ve been needing a new rug! I got one, but I won’t actually believe it till I pick it up! LOL
I don’t think it’s a mistake spoke with manager and he assured me the prices are correct and that I will get my order..So will see..
This is not expired, I was experience the cart problems as well so I went to the store. Apparently they are special order so stores don’t carry them but the site was having the problems, they had thousands in warehouse stock still. You will probably need to go to the store or call to order it though.
Jason, I had to order my through my store as well 🙂
I m looking @ it right now ,says $10!! I have to say that it is a Really BIG FAUX PAUX on their part!!! I could see if it was maybe 1 or 2 rugs…but 114? No, I don’t think so.I called & got a snippy guy on the phone that just said “yeah, well somene put it up there by accident,we’re trying to fix it.” I understand accidents,it was the WAY h said it,& thefact that I spent S MUCH TIME! I’m upset….So I’m goin to write the Head Corp.
This deal was too good to be true. I didn’t bother placing an order, even though it was way too tempting. Good thing I didn’t cuz my money would have been stuck. I like lowe’s a lot better than Home Depot. It was just a glitch…which can happen without any notice. No hard feelings towards Lowe’s 😉
Talking about a Glitch. I want to share something about Kohl’s. Collin posted a Rachel Ray 3 pans set deal before thanksgiving, which I believe was marked down from $99.99 to $29.99. Well I placed an order for my mom in green color but she recvd yellow color on Wednesday, she said that was fine and she would keep it because the quality is so good.
Next thing I know, I get an email from Kohl’s (without me complaining) stating there computer made an error and they have acknowledged their mistake. Soooo they will send out the correct color. But the BEST PART is that they told us to keep or destroy (R U Kidding me) the yellow set. I was so impressed. Kohl’s has the best customer service. My mom decided to give me the yellow set. I am excited :-). Thank you Collin.
Great share, thanks!
That is great customer service!
Kohl’s has done stuff like this before. If I remember well, last year there was some toy or something and they ran out of stock and they sent a free $50 credit to the customer who ordered but didn’t get their order
I had the same issue–ordered green and was sent yellow. I contacted kohls customer service over e-mail and my response was the right pans were being sent at no charge and I was free to keep or dispose of the wrong ones. Today I received another e-mail telling me that they are out of green pans and they will credit my account only after I return the wrong color ones I was mailed! very disappointed now…
The exact same thing happened to me……when I opened my box and saw the yellow I thought to myself “I thought I ordered green…oh well” low and behold I got the same email. They do have good service!! I thought the comment about destroying them was funny!! :0)
I had the same issue( ordered a purple set for my daughter and green for me). I called to see if i could get it exchanged for the green ones instead and they were more than happy to and was going to send UPS out to pick up the wrong one if i so desired. I decided i could live with the yellow ones and left it at that and received that same email yesterday! Now i’ll have a set, my daughter will have a set and i’m giving my dad the extra set! =)
Just got a phone call from Lowes where I ordered this rug. She said it IS a mistake, she is very sorry but she will be putting the $10.60 back on the card I used. Oh well, it was worth a try.
I called my store. They say they no longer sell those, and can’t even find them on their system.
Why oh why do people call customer service??? That just usually ruins it for those who did get in on the deal. If you can’t get it to work, don’t call. But, don’t ruin it for others.
Well, I had to call because I wanted to ensure the price wasn’t a mistake and that my credit card wouldn’t later be charged a different amount. However, I think Collin did the right thing by putting ‘Warning’ next to the deal so we all know it’s possibly that it may get cancel.
They were going to figure it out anyways. If Lowes sees over 700 orders for rugs in one hour, then they’ll catch on
The perks that come along with sharing our savings… 😉 I help people out and still keep a few secrets to myself because there are always those who ruin it for the rest of us. Ha! Guess as well as me, you have been doing this a while.
I wanted to make sure that my $10 wasn’t going to show up as a $1,000 charge…ps Lowe’s already knew due to high traffic
I so agree! I don’t know why people freak out so much. If you’re so concerned about a deal that you feel you must call customer service either before or after you order, then JUST DON’T ORDER. Leave the deal for others who don’t freak out. What good does it do anyway? From the comments on this post it’s about 50/50 people who are saying they were told the deal is good, or told the deal is a mistake.
I got one of these rugs, and an email saying the order is processing and due for pick-up on 12/14. No call or email cancellation yet. I’m not freaking out and calling customer service. I’m going to keep my mouth shut, cross my fingers, and hope it works out. Lowe’s is a good company. I have every confidence that if they cancel my order they will put the whole $10.80 I paid back into my account. Duh!
My SUPER energetic Boxer had totally damaged my area rugs when she was a puppy. And now that she is older. I was ready to replace them. This deal came right on time. I had some trouble with placing the order online though… it just would not take for some reason. The shopping cart would list zero no matter what I tried. So I called Lowes directly at 1-800-445-6937 and they processed the order for me at no added charge. In addition, I am getting it delivered to my home with free shipping. I was able to purchase 2 at $10.00 each + tax!!! Thanks Collin
One of my cashiers at Walgreens mentioned to be that if they post the wrong price on an item (this was in store – not sure if online is different) , they have to honor at least one per law or something. I am not sure whether is specific to my state or the US in general.
I don’t think the same rules apply online because I’ve seen this happen countless times and they don’t honor it. In all honesty though, these rugs cost HUNDREDS of dollars. Of course they aren’t going to honor it. It’s one thing if they cost $25 and were charging $10, but a $600+ rug. Not going to happen.
does anyone have the name or model # of the rugs that were showing up for $10?
Amy here you go Atlanta 8-ft x 10-ft Rectangular Red Tra
Item #: 441097 Model #: ATLANTA-B $10.00 1 $10.00
Rome 5-ft 3-in x 7-ft 6-in Rectangular B
Item #: 441119 Model #: ROME-A
When I add it to my cart, it goes to the cart page and says “shopping cart empty”. Can’t get it to work! Want this so much!!
A few months ago I ordered several things online (and got a confirmation email) from Lowes, but then later in the day, I got a call from the store and said they had NONE of the items that I ordered and that were issuing me a credit to my card. They said they had no idea why the online site said the items were available. So…..beware 🙂 🙂 🙂
I spoke to my father-in-law (former president of a large co) and he said it will depend on the state whether or not they have to honor it. For example in Vt and Ny the fine they would have to pay would be greater than the loss of the rug, so they will more than likely honor. Other states who knows!
I just called my store and spoke with the flooring department. I gave them the order numbers and they put it through with no problem. I ordered 3 and the total was $32.40. You do have to pay over the phone though.
Hi I also called Lowes and put my order through the flooring dept. but I checked my account and it has not been pulled out yet. I hope it goes through….
How could anyone possibly be upset that Lowe’s won’t honor what was obviously a pricing mistake, especially when Collin pointed out it was most likely an error? Good grief–it isn’t as though you were shopping for this item and stumbled upon a great price on the website. You saw it on a deal website , THEN shopped for a rug! If you honestly thought a high-end rug was on sale for 98% off, then email me. I can get you a phenomenal deal on some mountain top property in Florida. 😉
When i called Lowe’s to place an order, he asked right away if it was for the $10 rug. He said it was a pricing error and they aren’t taking any orders and all orders would be refunded … oh well, it was a nice try !
That’s interesting, because Heather (2 posts above you, #189) called her store and ordered 3 of these rugs from the flooring department, over the phone, for $32.40. It’s obviously not a mistake everywhere.
Prices has been changed on the website at my store location, ranging from $45-$295.
I priced out my order confirmation and did any one else notice this disclaimer at the top? Not good guys, not good. “Prices, promotions, styles, and availability may vary. Our local stores do not honor online pricing. Prices and availability of products and services are subject to change without notice. Errors will be corrected where discovered, and Lowe’s reserves the right to revoke any stated offer and to correct any errors, inaccuracies or omissions including after an order has been submitted.”

I just got a call back from my local store – they placed the order for me in store $10.00 a piece and are going to honor the $10.00 price!!!!!
and yes it was a mistake – the store confirmed that with the IT department of Lowes.com… they have since taken down all the rugs that were listed at the price.
Wow, that’s awesome. What state are you in?
Idaho !
Awesome! I called my store in FL and so far she says they are going to honor it as well. I’ll believe it when they hand it to me December 14! 🙂
Everyone just relax and take it easy zzzzzz!!!!there will be plenty more deals..Warning signs were clearly placed next to the deal..Thanks Collin
This was not a deal, this was a technical error – but either way I am happy that they are honoring the price. I am a loyal Lowes customer now! 🙂 🙂
On Lowe’s website when I check my order is says “ready for pickup” but then shows the arrival date as 12/14. Has anyone actually tried to go pick up the rug or does anyone have the same issue and know if its really ready for pickup?
Im in the same position. My hubby is on his to store to pickup. I will let you know what happens.
Thanks!
Call your store because they have to order them its special order that’s why it say pick up at 12/14
let us knw how it goes!
Jessi, all these rugs were special order rugs. Mine says it will be on 12/14 as well.
Just got off the phone with my local store. (Schereville, Indiana) She said vendor hasnt sent it out and estimated date is 12/14. If they get it in before that date I will receive a phone call. She was very sure I would recieve this order. If you have a confirmation email and card has been charged there is no reason you shouldnt get a rug.
We just have to wait in suspense till then 🙂
Yay!!!!! That’s my store too. 🙂 I’m so excited because I really need a rug for my son’s bedroom, and this is an AWESOME deal! I do have the confirmaton email, and my card has been charged. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it all works out. 🙂
It said the same for me so I called and she told me it was not ready yet, that it would take a few days to come in because it was special order. She said I would receive an email as soon as it got to the store.
Chill out people. I needed a new rug for our basement so I immediately jumped on the deal and ordered one. If I get it great, if I don’t then oh well. I have an email with an order number and haven’t received a cancellation or a call yet but if I do then so be it.
I didn’t get a rug because I don’t need one, even at $10.00.
However I can understand why people who did are upset. Do I think people should be freaking out… no, but I do think the price should be honored. I don’t know if its a state law or county law, but where I live if a store accidentally puts the wrong price on an item..they must honor it. And County law says if they don’t honor it and you already paid the wrong price, they have to give you 10 times the amount they over charged you (up to $10.00) so if you paid $2.99 for a item priced $1.00 they give you the $1.00 back plus $10.00. This makes it the store responsibility to have correct information to the consumer,
Just my 2 cents
Every one needs to chill. If it seems to good to be true, it probably is.
