if you don’t want it, this is a great book to buy for $1.99 if you have prime and donate to your child’s school library. I am a school librarian and these books are constantly checked out–and since it’s hardback its perfect for the library!

It’ll show a discount when you get to final checkout, same thing happened to me until I got to the last checkout screen then it was a “lightning discount” of $5.25 or something.

Thank you! I purchased this book on Amazon Prime for $7.88 about 2 weeks ago. I put in a return request with the reason being their Lightning Price is $1.99 and they replied that they will refund my $7.88 and I can keep the book without returning it. Yippee!

I just requested a return so I could purchase it at $1.99 (put that as my reason for return) and Amazon automatically said to keep the book and they’ll refund my $7.88.

Thank you!!! I also got a refund. You are so helpful to take time to post this. I went to my orders and requested a return because of the Amazon Lightning Deal of $1.99. If you keep pressing continue, the last screen will tell you a return is not necessary, and a refund is being processed.
So I just did that and said the return is not necessary but I am receiving the refund. So do I still have to rebuy it at $1.99? What do I do?

If you already have the book, you don’t need to repurchase it at $1.99. The original price you paid should be credited to your account shortly. My account still shows “Processing” BTW.
