Why does it need to access my facebook account?

  2. Geena O

somehow i feel its a marketing gimmick to acquire more customers…esp for new products…

    • Laura

Of course it is! Most free samples or significantly discounted loss leader items are….

      • Geena O

true…my only concern is that in this case its not a profitable proposition for me…it requires personal information plus a $5 payment…!

  3. EAG

    Has anyone done this before?

  4. Michelle

Page won’t load. Must be tons of ladies excited about this offer! ๐Ÿ˜‰

  5. Vickie

    Connection keeps timing out.

  6. rensee

i liked it when we got the free bags for free– dont think $5 is worth it -passs

    • Maria

      Agreed. $5? Nah…….

      • Dana

        Ditto

      • Jennifer G

right…exactly! All I can picture is opening that box & cursing up a storm cuz they charged me for 5 tiny samples…like the 5 samples they USED to ship to my house for free…and not in some silly box…in a pretty makeup bag!

    • lj

Me too. I mean, I can “try” full size products for free or really cheap with sales and coupons. Why would I pay 5.00 for 0.25oz packages??? ๐Ÿ™‚ I liked them when they were free, but I would not pay for them.

  7. JS

is this why they no longer offer the free one?

    • Ashley57

I bet it is the same as what used to be free. IMO, it wasn’t worth $5, maybe $2-3. Last year, they tried to give them only to people who bought certain products, and that failed. They ended up giving them out for free a couple month later. I wonder if that will happen now?

  8. Jodi

The link is timing out…can’t get through

  9. Kim

it’s not working for me. Keeps timing out ๐Ÿ™

I tried the link and my spyware blocked the site saying “it’s a not malicious site”…..not sure it’s a valid offer….

    • sue

okay — meant to say it IS a malicious site!

  12. Erin

$5??? Aren’t these usually free? AND you get a free beauty bag. Come On, Target!

  13. Jackie

hmmm $5 for samples that usually are free? I think I will pass too

  14. danielle

These are PREMIUM samples, so hopefully they are bigger. I’m willing to bite for $5.

  15. lacie

yes these are usually free as I have gotten them many many times in the past. they are nice if you travel I save my goodies in a larger makeup bag and use them for that purpose. they came in handy this week my mom was in the hospital so I dug through my goodies and got a few things out for her. it was a life savor and also really helped make her stay a little better (having soap… lotion a razor..shampoo.. and such) anyways.. I think this is a scam or a crappy way target is trying to get more ppl to buy stuff

  16. amy

maybe they are charging $5 to make up for the boo boo on the toothbrush and toothpaste deal. hahah ๐Ÿ™‚

    • jane

You are probably right! Haha too funny.

    • Rebe

      LOL! ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Ritz

      so true..

    • Jennifer

      To funny

  17. Kat S

doesn’t look like a secure page

  18. Sara

the last one I got was all plastic packet samples and they weren’t really anything I used or wanted. Paying $5 is CRAZY! I don’t want to pay for samples that I don’t know what they are before hand. Why pay for somehting I don’t even need? Bust!

    • Mika

I agree. I’m not paying money without knowing what I am getting in return. I have gotten three of there beauty bags in the past and I didn’t find any of the products in them useful.

    • Crystal

I agree. Ill pass on this deal.

    • kari

      true

  19. Yumiry

The first think is that in the bottom line said that is not affiliate site from target,so be careful ….

  20. Sarah

I keep getting a message that this is a malicious web site and my anti-virus program won’t let the page open.

  21. Yumiry

The only one thing is that the page where I found the promotion (The cents’ableShoppin.com)give some good deals concerns stores ,like CVS or Walmart etc.

  22. renee

Says all beauty bags are gone ๐Ÿ™

  23. Mar

Of course the mailing website is jab with traffic ๐Ÿ™

  24. Eli

I’m willing to try it for $5 (if I can get into the site). I’m guessing there will be more involved than the free beauty bags (that Target is no longer giving away in the future anyway) and that they are trying to tap into the market of people who subscribe to things like Birchbox. If not, I’m only out $5.

    • Alea

      Agreed! $5 isn’t much.

    • Crystal H

      Same here…I signed up

  25. Nikki

my computer blocked it as a malicious site

    • freezergalKaren

Mine did the same thing Nikki

  26. Kim

    Got one!

  27. Deb VanHouten

I just ordered one. We’ll see what I get. I hope it is worth $5!

  28. Brenda B

    Finally got one!

  29. Katie

I’m willing to bite – once. I use my Pinecone Research survey money for things like this.

  30. Valerie L.

    I just got through. ๐Ÿ™‚

  31. Tracy

Got it! Thanks for the tip!

    • Crystal H

If this is what they send us….the Salon Effects would be worth $5 by themselves. ๐Ÿ™‚

  32. Brenda B

In my order confirmation email there’s a link for a survey of the beauty box(when u get it) and it says to rate these products.. so maybe that’s whats in this one!

    La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo
    Fekkai Glossing Cream
Gillette Venus and Olay Razor Pack
L’Oreal Magic Skin Beautifier B.B. Cream
Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips

  33. Valerie P

I just ordered mine. A survey was included with the confirmation email. I am assuming these are the products since you are asked your opinion of them:

    La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo
    Fekkai Glossing Cream
Gillette Venus and Olay Razor Pack
Lโ€™Oreal Magic Skin Beautifier B.B. Cream
Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips

Hopefully they are large sample sizes…would be worth the $5.

  34. darla

got one..i just went directly to target facebook page and clicked on the box…i hope this is worth it…

  35. Barb

    just ordered one. thanks collin.

  36. Susan

Just got one. The products in confirmation email sound good. We’ll see….. thanks Collin!

  37. Jennifer

Why would you PAY for samples????

    • mel

they’re not itty bitty foil samples.. but Delux/Full Size Products!

  38. Danielle Hull

    Got it! Thanks!!!

  39. Christy

This is NOT A SECURE site…DO NOT PUT CREDIT CARD INFO into it. If it was secure, it would come up as https. You are putting your credit card number online in plain text !!

    • Pamela

I use facebook secure so my order page was secure https.

      • mel

my order page came up https too.

  40. angela

$5 for a mystery box of “premium” samples sounds fun. I’ve gotten enough free ones from Target that I am willing to gamble a little.

  41. glamourass1

On their FB page, they state that the box is worth more than 4x’s the purchase price.

  42. Tracy

I just find this hilarious. So Target is looking for people who are willing to pay $5 for something, but they don’t tell you exactly what you are buying. All you know is there are 5 products. We don’t know what size, but they are “samples”. We don’t know what brand they are, but they are “premium”. We don’t know what categories they are in, so they could be cosmetics, skincare or personal beauty products. Why would I pay $5 to get something but don’t know what they are?

    • Marie

Because it’s only $5? It’s not like we’re talking about a real gamble here.

    • Blair

There are lots of companies that do this. This isn’t a new concept and there are companies that especially focus on this type of business. For example Birchbox. I’ve been signed up for their beauty box for over a year for $10 a month and am very happy with the service. The point is you get to try beauty brands before buying them at full price and they’re deluxe samples i.e. worth it. It’s not a dumb idea or a scam.

      • Susi

I also have been a birchbox member for well over a year and I Love it…it’s like getting a little surprise present once a month. I get to try lots of different products that I might never have tried without it. And actually follow through and get the regular size products at a discount thru them. And I always have purse size perfumes, hand creams or lipsticks!

  43. Crescent City Couponer

I’d like to know the brand and the size of the samples.

  44. Michelle

I’m going to pass on this one and not I’m not willing to spend $5.00 it should be FREE

    • mel

I decided to take a chance and when I got my confirmation, there was a link to take a survey on the box (odd that the survey would be in the confirmation email…)
      Anyway, it asked questions about
La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo, Fekkai Glossing Cream, Gillette Venus and Olay Razor Pack, Lโ€™Oreal Magic Skin Beautifier B.B. Cream, and Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips.
so I think those are the “delux” products that will be in the box!

  45. trish

I spoke with Target the beauty box is through them. If you would like to cancel email
    style.social@target.com

  46. Kim

Love this! Thanks for sharing! I made the cut!

  47. delia

Am I the only one not seeing this through the links provided… or are they all out?

  48. SUSAN

I just placed my order using chrome. my email confirmation did not give a link to the survey.

  49. Valerie L.

I just got my box today, it had the following: a small sample of La Roche-Posay (face wash), Fekkai Glossing Cream (medium sized sample), Venus & Olay Razor (full size), Loreal BB cream (Super super small sample),Sally Hansen Salon Effects real nail Polish Strips (full size) and a $3 off $15 beauty purchase coupon at Target.

It looks like they are trying to do this as a monthly subscription, similar to Birchbox or Ipsy.

  50. jenn

I just got mine too… It had a venus razor, sample sized fekkai cream, and some sally nail effects… then 2 card samples… lame
