If you would like the opportunity to earn cash and prizes for taking surveys through the US Mail and online, be sure to head on over here to register for the Consumer Opinion Institute! You’ll be able to share your opinions with businesses across the nation about products, services, issues, and more.

[h2s_box]In fact, check out what reader Fran emailed me about recently…

I just got another envelope from Consumer Opinion Institute with a survey to complete and a $5 bill. I never got a chance to do the first survey and now I have another to do. I know I don’t have to do the surveys, but it’s only right. I just thought it would be helpful to readers if they got a heads up on this as some might think it’s junk and throw it away w/o opening it. 🙂 [/h2s_box]

Keep in mind that eventually you also will be sent $5 cash through the mail and be asked to complete a traditional mail survey. Although there is no incentive to join the Consumer Opinion Institute, there are good rewards for participation – like free CASH! 😀 Be sure to click on the confirmation link in your email to confirm your registration.

Head on over here to register!

(Thanks, Fran!)

This is what I got: “Thank you for your interest in joining the Consumer Opinion Institute. At this time we are unable to accept your registration.”

Anyone know why? Or are they just full?

    • Amie

I have the same problem. It says “Thank you for your interest in joining the Consumer Opinion Institute. At this time we are unable to accept your registration.
Must provide valid email and U.S. postal address to receive surveys and cash incentives.” I keep checking and my address is correct but it keeps telling me that they are incorrect.

I’ve been getting these for at a year and each one has $5. Once or twice I’ve gotten $2 but mostly it’s $5. I make sure I do every one of them because I’m sure if you don’t they will stop sending them. I just got one a week ago. I think I get about 1-2 every couple of months 🙂

Found an article on CNET about the parent company being a spam harvesting website. Read the fine print at the bottom. Now they have all of our demographics and our email addresses to send us spam. Shame.

  25. Brian

From the parent company (TNS) webpages:

  27. wench1109

Getting the not valid address too 🙁

  28. Jennifer G

That’s crazy…I got something almost identical, but the weird part is that it had a return address & letterhead that didn’t indicate anything about consumers or opinions…it SAID it was from US Dept. of Commerce & even had a seal that definitely made to look like that of a government agency. However, my gut told me it wasn’t quite fancy enough to look like a govt seal or letterhead. I was EXTREMELY hesitant to fill it out, but heck, the 1st survey came w/ a $2 bill & the survey was so simple & short & didn’t request any invasive or personal information, so I figured why the heck not? I sent it in & it must have crossed in the mail w/ a reminder letter I got the next day w/ a duplicate of the survey (in case I had lost the 1st one) with a $5 bill in it. I thought it was odd, but almost felt like I had won the lotto, so didn’t really care if it was legitimate or not…the cash was legitimate for sure =) Also, I got 2 or 3 voicemail messages where they called to follow up w/ a few questions. I ignored it, but think I’ll be calling them back after all so maybe they’ll send another one!

  29. Melissa

I just got mine the other day.
Love that little surprise in my mail box, and the surveys are kind of fun to do so it’s a win win!

  38. Christine Fowler-Suver

I’ve received 2 separate surveys a few weeks apart & each had a $5 bill enclosed:) The first survey was a reasonable length for $5 but the last one took a VERY long time to complete & I’m a speed reader so that’s long & I thought it was worth more than $5 but hey, it’s free money basically so I’ll gladly do any surveys they send:)

  44. Brenda

I just signed up for this April 23rd and was accepted yet when I sent a friend to sign up they were unable to. I do not know why. Maybe they set a Quota. Unsure. I did receive a Survey in the mail out of the blue the other day with $5 included. It is my first and not a scam.
If you are interested in signing up for surveys that definitely pay let me know and I will send you the link. I’ve received $50 by PayPal from 1 company so far and was able to cash out at $15 from another. Yes, there are scams out there. Have to be vigilante and try not based on others, Try and then make your own conclusions is my opinion.

  45. Lisa

Wont accept me either. Mine says no longer available. Has reached it limit.
