Best Buy: *HOT* Lots Of School & Office Supplies Possibly on Clearance for Only $0.49
UPDATE: Please keep in mind that these clearance items may not be marked correctly, so make sure to price check as they may ring up for even less. Here’s what reader, Priya, stated regarding this: I forgot to mention that the prices are not marked. But the associates were kind enough to do several price checks for me. The stapler in the picture was marked at $12.25 – reg. $26.50. But it rang up at 49 cents too!

I went to check it out and I could not believe what I found for insanely low prices! All Clearance items were ringing up at only 0.49 cents EACH! Their regular prices range from $1-$15! I got a lot of stuff for my kids for school next year and for charity too! Close to a 100 items and paid under $50!!!![/h2s_box]
So, if you’re looking to stock up on school and office supplies on the cheap, hurry on over to your local Best Buy to see if you can find similar clearance bargains!
Also, note that Hip2Save reader, Jill, emailed as well and was able to purchase Best Buy clearance items online for her local store and then opt for free in-store pickup. However, when I went online and checked my local store for clearance inventory, I did not find any school or office supplies on clearance and I also didn’t spot any $0.49 prices 🙁 … so I’m thinkin’ these clearance bargains may only be available at certain stores?!

I live in Highland, IN and my boyfriend works at Best Buy. They had a ton of stuff for .49 yesterday but most of it was gone by the end of the day. They stopped the online orders for the supplies because it got ridiculous trying to keep up with them.
Thanks! I live about 25 minutes away from the Lafayette store so I just have to try and figure out if it’s worth it. Sounds as if perhaps I’d better skip this one if most stores will be picked over.
Atlanta: Hi Hipster Family! YES it is all around the globe, all Best Buy stores have them marked down. I wouldn’t wait long, read about it last night and things are going F-A-S-T!!
I want to 2 stores, grabbed one of almost everything…this last store had accordion file w/handle and premium hold punchers for $0.49 – duct tape, krazy glue, mechanical pencils, you name it! Go.

I checked the website and it didn’t list any of this stuff on there but they were in the store near where you check out. Some of it was marked and some not.

Got some in Jacksonville, Fl. They are running low, too. However, I was able to snag some tape, file folders, envelopes,and post it notes. There were other things such as glue, markers, crayons, etc. I just didn’t need those things. There was even a bin by the checkout with larger packs of tape and post it notes. Thanks for the heads up!
This is nothing new. My Best Buy when you checked the online inventory for clearance had staples and 2 pocket folders for .49 or so. I know the 70pg spiral notebooks and whiteout was roughly .99. This was a few weeks ago. I didn’t see them on the sales floor so, they might have been hidden in the back.
They also had pens for .99 but, there was no coupon available for them. I think they might have been Uniball.
I’m looking for legal pads but, they don’t sell them.
I got legal pads at my store. The packs are 3 tablets with 50 pages on each tablet…so 150 pages total. HTH
came back from my best buy here in litchfield rd in AZ got 11 items used my $5 reward paid only .43 cents and there was plenty of stuff.
I went to this store today too! Got some glue sticks, index cards and folders. Then we stopped at the location at 99th and McDowell and picked up 3 different kinds of tape, the last pack of Crayola markers, and a few more folders in different colors. The second store had a lot more stock, but all the same things. They did also have sticky notes and tabs and rulers.
I was able to find lots at my store in Houston, TX! I spent a total of $10.74 and saved over $148! I was so excited!

It was the 6006 E. Sam Houston Parkway N. But, there were wasn’t much left when I was there! There was a lot of people stocking up!

At my store all of the staff knew about the sale and was very helpful! You might want to call a couple and ask and see if they have anything left! HTH!
Sugar Land location says they sell office supplies, but said they’re all sold out now. I’m tempted to go check anyway =)

Ok So I got a ton. I live in ILLINOIS and the only store I went to with a ton left is the South Elgin location. Schaumburg and bloomingdale are bare

Does bestbuy have a clearance section?? or do all this stuff in the regular aisle along with office supplies?? Is it ALL office relates that ring up .49??? I wish i saw this great deal earlier…now i have to wait until the morning and check out bb. hopefully theres still some left… =p
They did not have a separate clearance section at both my stores. At one they were in the regular aisle, marked with clearance tags. In the other store they were at the back of the store with clearance tags again. But in both the prices were not marked but be sure to price check! HTH!
Yahoo! I just got back from Best Buy, got 20 items, paid $10.74 with tax, and saved $128.30!! My favorite deal was a three-hole puncher, that was regularly priced at $13.99, for $.49!!

thanks so much for posting about this clearance..went to my Best Buy in Torrance, CA and could not find any office supplies at all. The Store Manager asked if I needed helped and I explained what I was looking for. He said he knew exactly what I was looking for and that it was all in the back. He proceeded to wheel it all out and told me to “go for it” Needless to say I did! I spent $30.25 and saved $291.00!!!! Got duck tape, 3 packs of tapes, lots of colorful multipacks of post-its, pens, pretty color sharpies, envelopes and staples. I’m a teacher most of this is going straight to the classroom on Tuesday, thanks again for posting!!!
Norwalk, Connecticut has a lot! Just got back. Paid $16, got over $200 worth off goods. The manager was pointing stuff out for me! It was so much fun!!!

Surprisingly came upon this deal when my significant other wanted to check something out at best buy in South Philadelphia, PA. . Stocked up on the 3 hole paper puncher, post its, file folders, and 3 pack refillable tape. Spent $8.47, saved $122.70. Happen to be around King of Prussia later that day and stopped by their BestBuy. They had very little left but picked up more colored post it notes and surprisingly they had 2 packs of the yellow really big packs of post its. Yes, I was excited. I am a post it notes lover, esp with being a college student it’s extremely helpful.
