Don’t forget! You can snag a FREE meal tomorrow at Chick-fil-a!

In celebration of Cow Appreciation Day, Chick-fil-A will award a FREE combo meal (breakfast, lunch or dinner) to any customer who comes to one of the chain’s 1,600-plus restaurants fully dressed from head to hoof as a cow on July 12th. Chick-fil-A will award a FREE entree to customers partially dressed in cow attire, such as a cow-spotted scarf, purse, hat or other accessory. Decision of what qualifies as fully-dressed versus partially-dressed is at the discretion of the restaurant Operator.

The gang all dressed up last year on the Hip2Help Tour 😀

Need some inspiration for a cow costume? Check out these ideas from Chick-fil-A…

* Start with items that you already have at home – cow- printed accessories stashed in your closet will work perfectly. Hats, vests, scarves, neckties, pants, shoes, pajamas – just abut any cow-spotted item will work. Just make sure you’re covered head to toe!

* Wear white, and then just add spots. Throw on a white T-shirt with white pants (even sweatpants) and stick on your spots using black contact paper. If contact paper is not easily accessible, you can cut spots out of construction paper and tape them to your shirt and pants. If nothing else, you can grab an old white T-shirt and color black spots all over it with a magic marker.

* Go to your local paint or hardware store and get a white painter’s hat and overalls. And then decorate yourself with spots made out of contact or construction paper.

* Make your own costume using the printable cow pieces and parts found here.

(Thanks for the photos, Tina & for the reminder, Brandice!)

Can you really just wear a white shirt with black spots, like the people in the picture, and get a free meal?

    • Lillie

i did that last year and i got a free entree

  2. Heather

Ugh. Chik-Fil-A. Would never, ever support that business, free food or not.

    • Susan

Yay. Chick-fil-A. Will always, always support that business, free food or not.

    • Heather v

      Love Chick fil a!!!

      :))))

    • E

Would never support this company. Shame it is getting any sort of promotion on a nice site as this one.

      • Ashley

We all have different values, views, lifestyles, etc. That’s why this IS such a nice site . Collin posts deals regardless if they might offend someone. If she catered to each of us, she wouldn’t be able to post enough to run the blog.

        • E

No offense but bigatory is not a value people should be proud of. I would like to hope that Collin does have standards and wouldn’t post just any deal no matter how offensive it was. It really isn’t that hard to find deals that don’t offend certain people due to discrimination. Other than this I don’t see anything being posted here that is controversial. This site wouldn’t suffer at all without a Chick-fil-A post. It would run just fine.

          • Gracie F

            GO chick fil a!

          • LJfromFLA

            What is “bigatory”?

            • E

bigotry* (excuse my typo…I’m sure you got my point)

          • Jim V

Please, just enjoy this website for what it is and stop driving your agenda. And please a name not anonymous, it discrediting

            • Melanie

              agree

            • rach

the agenda of lessening hate in the world? that is something you feel needs stopping?

          • Thia

You can say the same thing about Papa Johns, Walmart & Kmart, but the fact is this site is about posting deals. Just because some of us feel it’s wrong to support these yahoos does not change the fact people will dress like cows, pigs what have you for free items. Let them, I get a big chuckle out of it and so do the big wigs who promote this stuff.
It’s the American dream, I mean farm!

      • Meg

To all you you anti chick fil a peeps…..no one cares if you support this fast food company, but you and the haters…this is a coupon blog. Go rant elsewhere…

    • Tamo

Ugh. Why not? Get over it. Free food or not.

    • Kristen

Its sad that ppl are being narrow minded about a company being narrow minded.. ,(heather and “E,”) makes you no better than them..

      • rach

actually that’s not true. being narrow minded against narrow minded-ness is what got rid of lots of sanctioned hatred, control and greed.
        it’s a a constant battle.

    • Mel

If you don’t like it…don’t go. END OF STORY. Their business is not suffering at all – it’s growing.

      • Heather

And if you don’t like my comment, DONT READ IT. I have as much right to express my opinion as anyone, and I did it without insulting anyone, unlike many of the people here.

        • Kelly

And if you don’t like their comments in return, don’t read it. It goes both ways. Everyone can express their opinion, just because it’s different than yours doesn’t make it wrong.

  3. Farrah

It took just over an hour for the first negative remark to roll in. Ugh. Thanks Collin, we love CFA!!

    • Diana

      There’s always one 😏

  4. xfilemom

What if both of the kids and I dress up? Can we all get free entrees?

    • Gracie F

YES! Just make sure you’re dressed from Head to toe!

      • Elena

Thanks I was about to ask that. I love cfa

  5. Priya

Thanks Collin! We love love love Chick Fil A!!

  6. Cannielle

A funny way to take kiddos to a lunch date, thank you!

  7. Michelle

I’m ready to go for tomorrow Chick-fil-a all the way. I got my husband, me and my daughter ready for FREE meals. Thanks Colin for the reminder I love doing this every year. And yes I dress my family up in white shirts with black dots and black bottoms with the sign found on chick fil a website and we all eat free huge size meals worth over $25.00 in total. I love gay people but you know what people have got to eat and chick fil a is the place to go!!!

  8. rach

    devil’s advocate:
if westboro baptist were promoting a free product, would it be ok to post b/c we all have different values, lifestyles….?

    • Maureen

Chickfila is a national company with franchises run by a large number of individuals who had nothing to do with where the big wigs donated money. Why punish them?

Westboro however is a small bunch of crazies or really more likely just people who want some attention.

Heck maybe if Westboro were giving something free away we should all take it since it would cost them money and then they have less money to display their hate.

    • Kristianna

      @rach…what a ridiculous statement/question. Ugh.

    • Heather

Well, that’s just silly, because WBC is a hate group, and Chik Fil A is just a business that donates huge chunks of money to hate groups. Totally different.

  9. Mel

My kids & I have our cow outfits ready to go – they can’t wait. And no, I do not “hate” everyone just because I support chick fil a and their values. Where are OUR rights to free speech?????? I agree that Collin can’t make everyone happy and shame on you if you think she should try to make sure everyone who reads this blog loves every company that offers a deal.

  10. Anna @ Frugal For You

We will visit our local Chick-Fil-A for the free food and fun children’s area that is almost soundproof. I’m sorry to see that some folks are getting so upset here in the comment section. Can’t we all just get along and Eat Mor Chikin just once a year? Then boycott or not the rest of the year?

    • Heather

Why do you think they run these promotions? To get free advertising for their business. The business that donates money to further hate. That’s not worth free food to me, but we all make our own choices.

      • Kelly

Please get your facts straight, they haven’t donated to these “hate” groups in quite some time. But thank goodness you’re here to judge everyone who supports Chik-Fil-A, I didn’t realize you were Jesus Himself.

        • Heather

You may want to research your comments. While they stated briefly that they would no longer donate to these causes, they then backtracked and stated that they had no intention of changing anything. I’m sure this is all totally okay with Jesus, though, since he was really into the hate thing.

          • kelly

Lady, you need to get over yourself. Not everyone is going to agree with you on everything. This is not the place to go on pointless rants. How about instead of complaining about everything, you should just be grateful Collin has this blog in the first place and has helped so many people save money.

            • Heather

When did I say I wasn’t grateful for this blog? My original comment was simply that I don’t support this company. Frankly, it makes me sick that so many of you do. If Colin posted a deal on a product that I’d used and found to be crummy, I would make a comment about that, too. It’s about awareness.

            • Teri

I am so impressed that H2S allows us to post what we really feel without being censured. I once posted about an issue with a dog food that had a great, free, deal…and Collin allowed the post to run. She does not censure. I respect this blog for many reason, that is probably the most impressive one for me.

  11. Heidi

I love Chick-fil-a. Like someone said above, their business is growing anyway, so clearly plenty of people support them. Whenever we eat there, we receive exceptional service and quality food! Also, Thank you Hip2Save for all of the wonderful deals and this reminder!!

  12. BettePorterFan

Blog sites for couponing and saving money are not the place for political rants. Really people, either you support them or don’t, who cares? I sure don’t and I don’t come to a coupon site to hear your personal rants. It’s your business what you choose to do. Leave it at that!

  13. Ashley

For those of you whining about your personal viewpoint on this business/blog and trying to push your beliefs on others, have you personally served this country to continue this free speech you speak of? This blog and this company have right to run their business/blog anyway that they see fit. Put your big girl panties on and keep your opinion to your blog/business. If you haven’t served, then don’t throw free speech around. Many of us have served over and over again to let you have that ignorant self righteous opinion. You are welcome.

  14. Teri

Wow! I had no idea anyone would not love Chick-fil-A. I also read a blog about decorating called http://www.iheartorganzing.com and she will not even post a hateful, or angry post. She keeps everything happy and light. At least Collin does not censure people’s post. My area Chick-fil-A is amazing and very supportive of the community. I enjoyed dressing up as a cow, they even took my pic for the website…and I got a free meal, drink and all. Just a great promotion. If anyone has an issue with CFA, why not contact them directly? Thanks for all of your hard work Collin. Gotta love free food!!!! 🙂

  15. makaylaisabel

Thanks for the reminder! We went and had a blast! My kids loved it! We love Chick Fil A !
This post sure did get out of control! Sad! The negative views should’ve probably been all censored!

  16. Erin

My kids and I had a BLAST today! My husband was the only one who didn’t dress up and even he was getting into the fun of the day once we were there. And the costumes were all done on a budget using things around the house (white tshirts, hand drawn spots and cow ears using headbands etc).

    Here’s the kids: https://contest.chick-fil-a.com/gallery/photo/1131
Be sure to give them a vote! We’d appreciate it!

Thanks Collin for the event reminder, hope you enjoyed the day too!
