I did this yesterday. Bought 4 of the soft baked and used 4 of the .60 off coupons that all doubled. Total was $1.16 and I got the $2 catalina. My 2nd transaction was 4 boxes of fruit snacks that were .99 each when u buy 4 and I used the Catalina, and 2 of the .60 off two boxes coupon making my total -.44 so basically my total was 0 because they can’t give you the money. So all in all I spent $1.16 total for 4 boxes of fruit snacks and 4 boxes of soft baked oatmeal squares.
Amy, those sound like awesome deals! I am a loyal Safeway Just-for-U person. I transferred a prescription recently to the Safeway pharmacy and got $50 off a purchase of $75+ plus I used a bunch of other coupons so I made out like a bandit. 🙂 Can you tell me – what type of fruit snacks did you get in your 2nd transaction? I need to stock up on those for my kids…
Wow you did make out like a bandit!! Umm I got 2 boxes of gushers and 1 box of scoobie doo and 1 box of ninja turtles. they had signs up for the ones that qualified for the buy 4 get them for .99. Fruit rolls ups were included and some others.
I just did this deal yesterday. Bought 4 oatmeal squares and used 4 .60 off coupons that all doubled. Total was $1.16 and got $2.00 Catalina. In 2nd transaction bought 4 boxes of fruit snacks and used my $2 Catalina and 2 .60 off coupons that doubled. Would have been -.44 total but they don’t give overage. So 4 boxes of fruit snacks and 4 boxes of oatmeal squares for total off $1.16
Wish, I was aware of the Catalina deal. Yesterday, I bought two of the oatmeal squares just to try them since they were cheap with coupons. Hope I like them so I can buy more and stock up at such an amazing price. I was amazed that I saved almost 81 dollars at safeway…. Spent 41 dollars for 120 dollars worth of product. Pretty good for actual groceries. Receipt said 66 percent saved. Not as amazing as drug stores but not bad for safeway.
Too bad this is not on sale at Dominick’s (safeway) here in Chicago.

No I think Smith’s is a Kroger affiliate. So this deal would not work there.
What is this Catalina thing and where can I find it?

Yesterday I did the deal at Vons in Los Angeles and it generated two catalinas both for $2 each. One had a barcode all the way at the corner and was longer and the other Catalina looked regular with the barcode in the middle and was normal sized. I did the deal twice first time I bought the 3 of the green boxes and one soft squares. The second time I bought one soft squares and three crunchy apple, pecan and peanut butter and used the cats from the first transaction and got two more cats.
