I was shopping in Barnes and Noble yesterday. The sign on the clearance table said 75% off but everything was ringing up $2. I went to another Barnes and Noble after that and it was the same situation, $2 for each item.
Some of my favorite finds were a Beatles Monopoly game, a handmade wooden drum set, Crayola Marker Airbrush, a children’s pottery wheel, and Monsters Inc cars. All for only $2 each!

Collin,a BIG THANK YOU for posting this yesterday. My daughter has a Mobigo and I scored 2 cartridges for $4.00!!! In addition, I got 2 Monster High items and 4 Hello Kitty/Monster University cupcake kits. All for a little over $17.00 total!!!! I walked out of the store with a big grin on my face like I’d won the lotto!!!
Springfield, VA had one little table left at the front as of Thurs AM. A bunch of Hello Kitty baking sets (cookies, cake pops, whoopie pies) and a TON of Clif Note (or something like that) books on common classics and some other ransoms. A few adult fiction and memoirs (Howie Mandel), some spiral journals and some candy. Nothing huge but I picked up a few of the HK sets as add-ons for my nieces Christmas presents!
GREAT SALE!! Thank you so much for this post. I went to the Bethesda, MD store and there was still a great selection (it was all on the lower level as you got off the escalator). There were no more monopoly or scrabble games but there were plenty of monsters inc toys (so many they were stacked right below the table), some musical toys, cupcake mix for boys or girls, hello kitty sets, musical toys, puzzles, and books and the video game toys.
Still a full clearance table at the St Louis/Chesterfield store! Got a full set of those collector Beatles cars!!
Long Island NY …. Today had monsters inc toys lots of hello kitty toys, cake pop kits, fleece throws, Lego chima cases and pink leap frog cases …. Otherwise just lots of books
Most of the Northern Virginia Stores have a decent amount left. Manassas has a TON of Monsters Inc toys, a few buckets, cake pop sets, books, a few games. Fairfax has a ton of chocolate, some monsters inc toys and hello kitty baking sets and some mobigo games; Seven Corners has a good amount of stuff and more variety; (I went to too many places! 🙂 )
My score is on the Hip2Save Facebook page – thanks, Collin!
My mom and I went today — she and my dad are visiting us here in Northern California where our sales never go as low as what’s posted on Hip2Save…until today!
My mom basically dove under a table for something while I went “What? What do you see?” She pulled out a Playmobil vet clinic — regularly $70. And yes it rang up at $2!
We got an Erector set, Hello Kitty baking supplies, a bridge making set, a Leap Frog toy for my baby, and a Fancy Nancy purse that was cute enough alone and then we realized there was a doll and dog inside!
My dad just lost his job 2 weeks ago after 25 years there. My mom was pretty thrilled to get my kids’ Christmas presents for under $20 total for everything. When we got home we had my dad guess how much it cost just for the 5 big items and he said “You guys got good stuff! Wow! $100.”
He was blown away at the real price:)
