Capri Sun are preservative free, so they’re more apt to mold growth than products containing preservatives. And yes, I prefer preservative free things, but knowing what I do about preservative free items, I’m not going to hand my family a preservative free juice or pouch drink w/o making sure it is safe – knowing that it is more apt to mold growth. Unless you pour them into a glass, you don’t get to see the contents of the juice boxes or pouches unless your kid complains that it tastes funny – and then it is too late. I’d prefer to buy my family drinks that I can see into, like the larger Juicy Juice jugs, and just pour them into cups.
@Emily, I used to work for coca cola in California. One time this person came in with a soda can in a ziplock back (including what looked like a lugie). She said she was drinking it and felt this ball of slime on her tongue and spit it out. I was so grossed out, I ran to get my office manager. Turns out it happens more often than you think. She said she used to see a couple every month or so. She gave the lady a coupon for a free 12 pack and apologized, and explained that sometimes the sugar grows mold in the can even though its not expired. So I guess it’s not just capi suns.
