Of Windmills & War $0.99 (regularly $4.51)

The rumblings of war in distant countries mattered little to Danny McClain. Growing up in Chicago, his world revolved around after-school jobs, a rescued beagle, his pen pal in Holland, and the Cubs’ chance to go to the World Series. Then, in December of 1941, during his first year at Northwestern University, news of the attack on Pearl Harbor hit much too close to home. After a series of unexpected events over the next couple of years, Danny found himself in the co-pilot seat of a B-17, stationed with the 390th Bomb Group in Framlingham, England.

Autobiography of a Baby Boomer $0.99 (regularly $7.99) – Today Only!

In Autobiography of a Baby Boomer you’ll follow the journey of a post-modernist baby-boomer from Father Knows Best middle class Fair Lawn, New Jersey to the hippy trail through Europe, North Africa, the Middle East and Asia. The overland journey in search of something more than he could find at Cornell University Medical College covers four years during a time when “dropping out,” “turning on,” and “free-love” were the gospel. Through his travels, drugs, séances, very far-out “Road People,” and his parents’ unremitting love, author Robert Schultz comes to truly appreciate the American way of life. In an admittedly unconventional way, Schultz discovers the rather conventional joy of having a family and the awesome responsibility that comes with it.

The Warrior (regularly $4.99!)

Before he can react, his motorcycle is crushed, and he is thrown fifty feet onto the median. At that precise moment in Dallas, Elizabeth’s sleep is interrupted by a vivid dream in which she witnesses James’ accident. As she watches him begin to pass from life to death, she extends her hand and cries, “Don’t die if you don’t know Jesus!” Although neither James nor Elizabeth is aware of the existence of the other, they begin a ten-year odyssey in which their lives are inexorably intertwined, changing their futures and the futures of those they love most.  The Warrior is a moving testimony to the power of prayer and God’s desire to redeem every life.

I got “When You Come Home.” It sounds really good but I’m sure I’ll cry at least once! Thanks Collin! 🙂

I’ve just finished reading Blue Christmas by Diane Moody, the same author who wrote Of Windmills and War and it was a great read. I just bought Of Windmills and War as we were stationed in England close to the same RAF base this book is based out of. Thanks!
