This is a total side note, but does anyone know where to find a good entertainment center at a hip price? My apartment right now has built ins, and at a house we moving to, there is no place to put the tv….I need to find it at a good price, or the tv is going to be on top of my coffee table! lol THANK YOU!!
Here’s my tip: black paint is a miracle worker. Find an ugly but good condition entertainment center in the right dimensions at Goodwill or on Craigslist and paint it. Most new and trendy pieces these days are painted, and most often they’re black. Use spray paint, or spend a little extra for Annie Sloan chalk paint which gives a naturally distressed look.
I work w/Annie Sloane chalk paint regularly, and it is well worth the almost $40 per can. However, you won’t get the true “naturally distressed” look without some elbow grease and sanding. Still worth it when you factor in that you don’t have to strip or prime. Just know, it will look very matte and chalky if you don’t buy the clear wax that goes with it for $25. I prefer it with at least the clear wax to seal it (otherwise it’s not protected from
moisture), and sometimes a little bit of the dark wax too. Gorgeous!

I found mine on Craigslist. It sells for $650 at Pier 1, but I got it for $150 in near-perfect condition. You’d be amazed at what you can find out there!

I placed my order a half hour ago and just got the confirmation. It shows the price as $319.50? But my payment is $105.47 ($99.50 + sales tax). Yet, when I log into their “Order Status,” it shows $99.50 as the price. So, I hope this goes through. Just in case, I am printing the order confirmation.
Weird, mine just shows the 99.50 and my payment which equaled out to be about the same with tax on the email confirmation I just got…I would definitely keep an eye on that!!

That happened to me also. I emailed customer service and they assured me that I will only be charged $105.47. My account show the correct amount was deducted also. Just a glitch.

Be careful if you use it in the bathroom because it may not be appropriately finished for a high-moisture area.
