You can make soups and stews in it. One of my favorite things to make is Dutch Oven Bread (google for recipes). It’s super easy and yummy!

I do know that you can put these in the oven.
They can go from the stovetop to the oven. They’re made of cast iron so they heat and sear exceptionally well. But they’re enamel covered for both looks and function.
I just read several of the reviews and in my opinion many of the reviews are not favorable regarding chipping and the coating even coming up into the food someone was making! Seems not worth it to me even at this great price.

Have the tael one and LOVE LOVE LOVE it. I make soups and chilis in it mostly. Love cooking taco soup in it (making that tomorrow– off of foodnetwork.com)
(It is heavy, and I did drop it in my sink while hand washing it and it chipped a tiny bit of the coating off of the handle. I have used it several times since then and the chip has not gotten any bigger— and I couldn’t see the inside coating chipping unless you used a metal utensil or something in it.

So what color is everyone getting? I can’t decide between white and green! Do you think the white would discolor with use?
Hi Rachel.. I bought the white one last year.. its actually off white. I have not had any issues with it discoloring and I use it atleast twice a week.
I have a different brand dutch oven in red and the bottom has discolored. I’m not sure if that’s typical, or if it’s because I’ve used mine at high temps in the oven.
I got this dutch oven for my husband last year, and it is really great! I’ve been surprised at how much use it has gotten over the last year.
I first put the Seafoam color in my Kohl’s bag, then took a look at the rebate form. The SKU for Seafoam was not listed. I changed my color to Pacific Blue and did find the SKU on the rebate form. I could easily be wrong here, but look carefully, just to be safe about getting your rebate. Great deal!! Thanks!
If you get more than one, do you have to purchase them separately for the rebate or can they all be on the same receipt? We are looking at getting three of them for gifts since we love ours so much.
