If you have a Dollar General nearby and like to drink wine, check out the email I received from reader, Mary: There is a great deal at Dollar General on Spring Creek wine. This wine is normally $3.95 a bottle, but is on sale for $3.25 a bottle. This wine is really good. Even my wine snob friends who have been to Napa were shocked. My family tasted wine across Italy and thought it was very good. My faves are the Merlot and Riesling. The Pink Moscato is sweet, but very nice.

Note that I asked my sidekick, Erica, who lives near a Dollar General (in the Florida area) to check for this deal. She did indeed find this wine on sale, but not for $3.25 – it was on sale for $3.50… still a great price!

Have your tried this wine? I’d love to hear your review! 🙂

Thank you for this tip. I recently moved to MI and it is extremely hard to have wine delivery due to state laws here. I will check it out, maybe they will have wine in MI Dollar General.

  2. Layne

Live in PA, and deals like this make me jealous, we can only buy wine in bars and state stores

    • erica

Same here..it would be so much more convenient to pick up a bottle of wine or six pack when I’m at any store.

      • C. Popelka

I have turned several people on to the Dollar General fine wine section, specifically Sweet Red. However, I can’t find the incredients. Nothing is listed on the bottle. Can anyone help?

      • Cedric

I feel sorry for you. I attended a 5 day training event in Downingtown. Took 4 gas station visits to come to the mind blowing realization that beer and wine aren’t sold everywhere in Pennsylvania as it is in the south.

    • She

Same here in Jersey. No grocery or pharmacy liquor runs here. Occasionally, you will find a liquor store connected to a grocery store.

  3. karen

My dollar general here in Indiana does not sell wine……

  4. Sarah

Booooo. This makes me ready for Tennessee to get laws passed that allow stores like dollar general and grocery stores to carry wine. So silly.

“If you have a Dollar General nearby and I [sic] like to drink wine” – little Freudian slip there? 😀

    • Elise

      Ha – I thought the same thing… 😉

    • Mary

I noticed that too! So cute:)

    • Jamie

      Ha!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      LOL!! 😀

  6. Guest2

The $5 off coupon says that you can’t use it on alcohloic beverages?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Darn! 🙁 I didn’t realize that… I just removed that part from the post.

  7. Lana

Thanks for the information and the review! We are awash in wine right now but I will keep that in mind. Moscato is a favorite of ours and it is usually much more than even the regular price.

Has anyone done the wine deal in the 6pm.con orders? I got the $50 and the $100 vouchers. Scared to do it since it’s a monthly club even though it says u can cancel anytime…..

  9. Mandi

    6pm sells wine??

    • Jade

lol.. no not 6pm.com. But when you buy something from 6pm they include a voucher card for a wine company online.

    • Christine

Its a voucher you get in your order (like an advertisement). Hth

  10. Mandi

I got a little excited when I thought I could buy wine and shows from the same site!!

  15. Myke Curry

This wine is sooooooooo good! I have been searching for more information on it… it seems too good to be true! It’s so inexpensive and tasty. I’m headed to DG to buy more bottles this weekend. Yum-o!

    • Nuclear Traveler

Yes it is soooooo good love that stuff. I am making a trip to Florida over the Fourth of July. I will buy all I can get my hands on and take back to Michigan when I go back to work. 😃

    • Tana Armitage

It was so good! I had a bottle last night. I stumbled upon it by accident.

  16. MCR

This wine is really smooth and tasty, lucky for me the Dollar General is right around the corner and on my way home from work!

  17. RFY

Agree… Picked up Merlot and the Cabernet Sauvignon and was very surprised and pleased for the price!

  18. Cheryl Gibson

I love the sweet red can I order it in bulk they sell out to quick

    • Sue Platt

How do you order it in bulk? From the store?

  19. Cindy S

We live in SC and get the Muscato all the time. It has no bite and goes down real easy. Maybe too easy!!!

  20. Carrie

I live in central IN and can get the Spring Creek wine at my DG. I love the Merlot. I’m not a wine snob but can taste the difference between a bad or good quality wine. The Merlot is now my favorite wine and only $3.85 a bottle.

  21. Roy Holbert

DG here in Texas sell wines, Spring Creek, among many. Tried Spring Creek for the first time a few days ago, good as any expensive wine out there. I know, I’ve spent $25-$40 for a bottle of good wine, more at a nice restaurant.

  22. Lori W.

I just purchased a bottle of Sping Creek Chardonney for. $3.85 at DG in Des Moines, Iowa and was very pleasantly surprised! Very nice taste and great value!

  23. Michelle

Spring Creek Sweet Red is really good and the price for it is only $3.95 at my local Dollar General store in Florence, Al. That’s a very good price for a good sweet red wine. 🙂

  24. Misshell

Took a 3 $ chance on the Spring Creek Chard, at the DG in Ajo, AZ. And it’s not too terrible…in a pinch.

  25. Lyndsey Harden

I actually work for dollar general and I do have to say the sweet red they make is one of my favorites

  26. CTony Cuello

I stopped drinking beer and started drinking Spring Creek Cab 3 months ago and dropped from 200 to 180 lbs. I am 65 year old male and buy Spring Creek Cab at Dollar General for 3.50 a bottle.

  27. Prime fire

Good wine but the corks won’t come out every other bottle I have to use a knife and pliers.

    • James New

You’re right, some come out real easy and some need a hack saw. Wonder why that is. I still like the wine and the price.

    • joedynamo

Oh, you must have stumbled upon the aged run of Spring Creek, how lucky of you!

  28. Crazy College Kid

Just found this looking around i’m a poor college student and heard dollar general had 3 dollar wine, so i figured i’d try it, this is my first time with wine and i was pleasantly surprised. I got the white zinfadel and went through half a bottle with some friends which is saying something because alcohol prices can often correllate to taste so we thought it was going to taste like piss. It’s not the best alcohol I’ve had but at 3 dollars a bottle mediocrity when served at room temperature was amazing and because of it’s price tag it feels less problematic to share than the 15 dollar bourbon bottles i’ve preffered up to now.

    • joedynamo

….you know there are good tasting bourbons for half that price as well.

      • Ken

Name one, Joey and don’t say Heaven Hill. I but Four Roses and like it as much as Beam Black.

  29. Michael M

Good people how are y’all doing today. Tell you about Creek sweet wine that is so fine. Is a great wine but it reminds me of a certain wine of the hobos my wild Irish Rose. Nice tasting wine like you should be by a fire barrel. Great for paint parties. Plus is great for all your drunken friends. I was sitting on my balcony and drink too much and was real mellow….for all you guys that’s out there with testosterone problems this red wine will help you out. Rise and shine. But I good wine

  30. James New

I picked up a bottle of Spring Creek Merlot at Dollar General a few weeks ago for only $3.50 and can’t go by that store without dropping by to buy another bottle or two. You can’t beat it at three times the price. I used to buy Yellow Tail Shariz all the time and convinced myself that I liked Australian wines and not California wines. But I changed my mind with Spring Creek Merlot.

    • MaryAnn

      I kno thats rite!

  31. Denise

I love their Cabernet! Better than some of the 10$ wines I get at wine.com.
    Sorry, not sorry!

  32. MaryAnn Salinas

That is my go to spot for wine!!! And my fav in the Pink Moscato!! Great for after a long day at WORK!!! LOL

The Spring Creek (Modesto, CA) Cabernet Sauvignon is certainly mellow, acceptable, and worth ever penny at $3.50 per bottle…. the label states that the wine exhibits flavors of blackberry (bramble) & plum with hints of vanilla, and I must say that while not exceptionally bold or dry it is a rather pleasant tasting selection all the same. I add a sprinkle of the spice Cardamom, try it, and it is truly good for you as well, an antioxidant.

  35. Kelly E Robbins

I really like the sweet red. It’s a perfect sweet red wine, in my humble opinion.

  36. Draz

I live in AZ and at this moment have 7 bottles in my cart. $3.55 each
    Sweet red is my favorite!!

  37. Ken

When I saw on the label that Spring Creek is bottled in Modesto, CA, I immediately thought of Gallo Wineries. Sure enough, looked it up and turns out it is a Gallo wine. Which is fine; Gallo makes some very drinkable wines at very modest prices. Keep in mind that this sweet red is only 8% ABV, which is common for sweet wines (some Rieslings average only 5.5%). Some wines are as much as 23% ABV, but the average is 12% ABV. Spring Creek sweet red is termed a “rare red”, but don’t get too excited; “rare” means either an uncommon blend of varietals, or any wine whose blend is not published.

My daughter brought me 2 bottles of the Spring Creek Pink Moscato from Dollar General. I loved it so much I went back and bought the 6 bottles still in stock. Cheap or expensive I would buy this wine.

  40. David Stone

It’s funny..I’m enjoying a glass right now ..I looked it up because I love it ..I bought a case at dollar general because I’m afraid the will stop carrying it ..I like sweet red wine and this fits the bill perfectly ..and it cheap l o l

  41. PJ

The sweet red is to die for! I go in and buy 10 to 15 bottles of it at a time, because it goes so fast. The wine truck only runs once a month. So I try to stock up.

  42. Lisa West

We love the Spring Creek merlot.

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks for sharing your favorite, Lisa! 🍷❤️

  43. Nancy

The Spring Creek White Zinfandel sold at Dollar General is delicious. Very light, smooth and delicately flavored. Not vinegary like some white zins. And best of all, no after effects at all! Forget the great price, it’s just really good!

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks for hopping on to the comments to share your recommendation, Nancy! 🍷 Good to know that it tastes great and you can score it for a great price! I’ll have to keep my eyes peeled for this one on my next trip to DG! 👀❤️
