Now you may be wondering what to use this for?! 😀 Well, check out the tip I received from reader Jewels…
Hey Collin! I love your site and enjoy all your good tips and savings. I wanted to pass along a nice little gadget that is a huge help with filling the freezer bags. I do a lot of bulk cooking and this was the best $8 I have spent in a long time. It holds your bag open while you fill, and it adjusts for different size bags also.[/h2s_box]

Also, be sure to check out my video above where I not only compare the cost of popular canned goods at warehouse stores versus grocery stores BUT I also show you how I store these items for future use! 😀
Thanks so much for the price comparisons! I have a question- when you divide up the pineapple and mixed fruits, do they have to be refrigerated?
yes they have to be refrigerated because you have opened a sealed can
Definitely refrigerate!! Once a canned good has been opened it has to be refrigerated or it could make you VERY sick!!!
and though others say they last up to a week, I personally would never eat opened food more than 3 days
It’s up to $6.19 but definitely something I need for packaging my hamburger and husband’s meals!
My dad bought me one of these at a gadget store. I absolutely love it!
I always stick my bags in a measuring cup and roll the top down the sides – works like a charm!
I stick my baggies in a plastic tumbler with the sides rolled over the edge. FREE and it works!
I have one of these and love it— actually used it for making a ckn marinade today!
But once you add in the membership fee is it really that good of a deal to buy bulk?
It is for some people. There are only 3 of us in my house but I’m currently pregnant and have a 4 year old. It helps to be able to buy in bulk and not have to go to the stores often.
for my family of 6, no, it’s not a good deal on most everything….except I love costcos produce, as well as their specialty items, so I do it. I find toilet paper, laundry soap and all of that to be much more expensive than couponing
Loved the comparisons post! Made a trip this weekend to Sam’s and it’s not only a cost savings, but time in the long run! No more waking up early to make the kid lunches. I just divided them into the containers on Saturday and was done for the week!
I have a food saver attachment that vacuum seals (takes all air out) mason jars…I bet this would make even the refrig-life longer. too bad this method won’t make it ok for keeping it on the shelf though
I have a terrible time with this thing. I bought one at Gabe’s and it was on clearance for a dollar…I feel like I wasted $1. haha! My baggies slide out of the clips and I end up with a mess. It’s probably just because I usually have generic baggies, but I can’t change that…ziplock bags are expensive, but I buy a TON when they’re on a great sale…cheap or free!
You have to love Gabe’s though….I love finding random stuff there for a dollar even if I don’t end up liking it. It is a bargain hunter’s paradise for sure:)
