The tags are up but they’re ringing full price now. I took pics of the tags then showed them at the register. After they confirmed it was indeed the right item they price modified it. Score!!! I got 2 last night and 8 more today. Tastes even better when it’s a third of the price!!!

I like your last sentence! lol

  2. Monica

Scanned at full price today so I let an employee know and took down the signs.

They were ringing up regular price at my store but I told the cashier that they were on sale for $3.49 and he looked at that sell history and saw that they were $3.49 previously so he gave me that price. Unfortunately there was only one so I didn’t get to use the coupon but still a great deal.

The tags were still up at the 1 store and they had 2 on the shelf, but when I scanned it (and it scanned 3.49) it said they had more in the stockroom, so I had an team member go get me 2 more bags. Mom wants them for Easter, but at the register they told me the tag was old when it rang up 11.99, but price adjusted the 4 bags I bought and then pulled the signs. But the sign definitely said until 5/10 so I’m guessing they sold so many they ended the price cut early.

Looks like the deal is dead. Ringing up at regular price and signs down

Went to 3 different store before I found it! Shelves were wiped at the other 2 and I tried for a raincheck but they said no 🙁 3rd Store the signs were up but it was ringing regular price. I showed them the sign and they price adjusted my bags!

    Great Deal!

My mission today was to get this deal!!! Just two bags. *fingers crossed* But, when I checked Hip2Save this morning and read the most recent comments, I was worried. :[ I checked online and the closest store didn’t have any in stock. *bummed* There were two other stores fairly close, equal distance apart from me, but polar opposites from one another. I took a shot … Mission in hand.

Luckily I chose wisely. ;] This Target had six bags of Verona left with tags still displayed (Price Cut: 4.13-5.10). (Blonde: Veranda was tagged, but wiped out.) I grabbed the last six, but did snap two pix before continuing my shopping. About an hour later I was back down the aisle again and the tags had been pulled. :[ I did a price check and sure enough they were back to $12.99!

When I finally checked out I told the Team Member, who kindly adjusted the prices. Additionally, I was able to use my $2/2 Coupon … But, I also had an expired $2/2 Coupon (4.6) with me and as a long shot I mixed it in my coupon lot. It totally took off an additional $2 bucks, no beep! Weird!!!

6 Bags Without Price Cut: $77.94
    After Price Cut/Coupons Paid: $16.94
Redeemed 2 Starbucks Springtime Gift Cards ($10) + Scored 6 Reward Codes!!!
    GRAND TOTAL: $6.94 or $1.16/Bag [A Savings of 91%!!!]

THANK YOU COLIN and ERIN!!!!! Best.Starbucks.Deal.Ever.

Knowingly using an expired coupon is so not cool. The store will not get reimbursed even if there was no beep. Very unethical IMO.

      • Noel

I’m sorry. I’m new to couponing and had read comments on other posts about use/success of expired coupons at Target … Two or three days beyond was what I remember. I’ve never ever tried using an expired coupon before and gave it a whirl. Although mine was nine days past it’s cut-off, it did work, which is why I mentioned it. I’m not out to abuse the system and ruin it for others. It does make me wonder though … Is there a difference between two/three days past expiration and nine days in terms of the companies reimbursement potential?

        • Laura

Ok, first off let me say I am truly not trying to be mean… Sometimes words in print don’t come across as intended.
That said, here’s my thought…. If you really felt it was not an issue to use an expired coupon, did you “mix it in” with your other coupons? Why not just put it on top or even ask the cashier, can I use this?? Just because you CAN use it doesn’t mean you should. Companies put expiration dates on the coupons for a reason.

          • Noel

I totally agree words can sometimes not come across as intended. And my intention is not to be mean either.

Could I have set the expired coupon to the side ’till the end … And asked the Team Member or explained and had them attempt it to see what would happen? Sure. If anything for clarification purposes. But, it wasn’t even present in my mind.

I had prepared my coupons together in order of my Shopping List the night before, placing both Starbuck’s Coupons together. Being new at this I was too busy trying to check-out this first of two transactions with multiple coupons (manufacturer, target, mobile, and cartwheel) to even click the expired coupon was in the stack I just handed the Team Member. It wasn’t ’till I’m watching the coupons and screen, back and forth, I remembered. By that time it was scanned through, no beep. I guess I could’ve said something after-the-fact, but I didn’t. Had it beeped or caused a problem, I would’ve said something and not even thought twice about not being able to use the coupon.

Yes, there are expiration dates on coupons for a reason. Yet, there are also establishments that take them even if expired. Next time I will make it a point to specifically ask though, as I’m curious … If it is against policy, I would think there would be a procedure in place to prohibit it from happening all the time. Hence “the beep.”

            • Stephanie

They get their money back, how on earth would they know what day it was purchased?

  8. Mel

Signs were up but nothing in stock – an employee said to check back tomorrow???? Wonder if they will be ringing at the sale price – should have tried for a rain check

    • Laura

I tried for a rain check and the system would not allow it 🙁

  9. Lindak

I snagged two bags today as part of my $10 off $50. Also used the $2/2 coupon and sent in a $5 rebate request for Starbucks. I took a photo of the tag and had the price adjusted. May go back tomorrow as they had more and I still have the photo. I needed to buy other things today as part of my $50. Thanks for the heads up on a great deal.

  10. Jessica

Dead Deal. Ringing up Full Price now and Signs were taken down.

  11. Jennifer

Coupon police, why would they pull the sale if it is on sale, that is a little bit unethical. It doesn’t make sense, the cashier was upset that they were on sale.. who knows!

    • Jennifer A

It’s possible that the code dates on some of them were getting close, and rather than take a hit on throwing them away they did a steep markdown to help clear the shelves. They probably did a future date for a couple reasons: A) not expecting this to be as hot of a deal as it was and B) it’s possible that was when the in stock coffee was code dated. When it’s an unadvertised markdown, there’s nothing unethical about pulling it early.

      • Michelle W

I agree. The dates on some at my store were expired.

  12. Leah

I went into the store and their shelves were completely cleared of this item. I tried for an hour to let them make an exception for another roast and they only let me get two. I called another Target and asked before heading over and they said no big deal, to come on in! So I went and got my remaining 6 bags I had coupons for in 3 different roasts. Call first and try more then one store. Everyone is different!

Not to sound dumb…I’m new at this….but when we’re saying we’re getting our purchases for free because of the gift cards….are we really getting the item for free because it’s really our next purchase that’s free? Like when I go to Starbucks to redeem this egift cards I’m not getting my money back for the coffee. I’m just getting my next coffee for free. Can someone maybe clear this up for me in kindergarten terms! haha. I’m very new at this! Thanks for posting!!

  13. Jennifer

    coupon police up there relax

  14. Lauren

    Ringing up full price

  15. Katie

I got this deal today!!!! Signs were up for the cafe Verona dark and for the blonde coffee and I got 2 of each. They rang up full price but the cashier had my husband go get the signs to verify and then manually changed the price. Thanks so much for all you do Collin! I was actually in the coffee aisle looking for instant and then I remembered this post and thought it’s worth a try to look at the Starbucks. Without this site I would have walked right past it!

  16. Doreen

Target in Rockwall, Tx had plenty. The signs are up but they are not ringing up correctly. I took a pic with my phone and showed the cashier and she price adjusted.

  17. K

Has anyone received their $5 e-gift card yet? Please post an update when anyone does. Thanks!

    • Noel

No, not yet. I was wondering the same thing?

    • Jennifer Aho

I’ve received both of mine already! A couple weeks ago, in fact!
