Nice!! My son reads very well but goes to speech therapy so I figured this app might be good to help it with sounding out various sound combinations.
My son has a speech articulation disorder and does extensive therapy. This is an amazing and clear speech app.
I tried tree times to get this app, but it’s making me pay. 🙁

I tried to download this and we are in central time zone. It’s 10:12 here and it was no longer free. It’s still may 6th here.
Same thing happened to me. I was unable to download because it was already expired
11:51 MDST and not free should have stated what time zone they were using.
I downloaded it at 1130 eastern and was charged for it but was refunded in the a.m after speaking with an apple rep and was still able to keep the app

I just heard about the wonderful news of a free App that I could use on the new iPad my Pre~K class just got, and am now very sad to see that the “free app” is no longer. ITunes is requesting payment of $49.99, despite the notice saying it was free for May 6th… which it still is here. Any word on why this is the case would be very helpful. Thank you!
Yeah it would have been nice if they had posted a time deadline if they weren’t going to do it till midnight; I couldn’t get it earlier because my husband is the iTunes user (I have android stuff) and he wasn’t home. So bummed. Oh well…

10:56 pm and the app is 49.99 again. Disappointed, but hoping the company will notify us if they extend the offer for those of us still trying to download it today (May 6th)!
Apparently teachers aren’t appreciated after 10 PM…which is when most of us finally have time to do things like download a free app. I feel so frustrated right now that it’s no longer free. What a waste of my time and clearly everyone else’s. Ugh!!!!

Same here. Tried around 1030-11p and it wants to charge me! I emailed and said I didn’t see any cut off time and it’s still TODAY so I want it free. That’s false advertising. I hope they come through, not fair to end the “day” at what, 9p?!

Tried to DL and it’s trying to charge me $49.99, not cool!! It’s only 10:11 pm here and it’s not midnight! This is false advertisement since it’s not midnight here in California yet. My 1st grader needs this.
It wants to charge me too. 🙁 Sad it didn’t work. My daughter is dyslexic and it would’ve been nice to see if it could have helped her! Bummer.

I was ripped off. I went on iTunes at 10 o’clock to download this “free app” and when I clicked it I was charged $54. Is this some sort of bait and switch? As someone who has been teaching for 23 years I’m offended, especially because I went to report a problem on Apple’s website and basically got a popup that said no refund available. I have never spend more than $10 on any app and I will definitely be calling Apple today! This teacher definitely does not feel appreciated.
I downloaded it to my iphone because I was out and about and didn’t want to miss it. Now I’m trying to transfer it to my ipad but on my ipad it only shows the first lesson free and the others have to be paid for. Any suggestions?
This is an amazing App! My 4 year old just breezed thru the first lesson and read the 1st book on his own. This is by far the best app that we have ever tried.

They charged me. Ahh! I typed in free hooked on phonics app in iTunes it said 49.99 but also came up as free in the free category. There was text at the bottom that said “free” on the 6th of may with unlimited downloads. They should of been more specific with the timing of when the “free” was to end. Slightly misleading. Sad. Sent questions and comments to the ITunes Store. Because lol there is not 49.99 in my bank.
