Umm… They need your SS number but your drivers license is optional?? I don’t think so….

    • Ashley57

To be an employee or an independent contractor, you have to provide your SS# for tax purposes.

      • Billy

Read it again. Just to sign up. Hmm

    Make more THAT minimum wage?

I am technically an employee of Tallgrass, joined several months ago, but I am NEVER contacted to do jobs! Ever! It’s a great opportunity if you live in an area where it’s used frequently, but if not you tend to hang around your phone waiting to hear for a job.

I worked for a company that was acquired by Tallgrass. After the acquisition, I decided to not continue on when they dropped the pay rate by almost 20%. The new salary would have been slightly more than minimum wage for standing on your feet, repeating a speech about the product and the lead/manager was always less than pleasant.

Assignments are rare in my area, too. I was hired in October, and I’ve only been asked to work at 3 events. I signed up for the first one, but the event was cancelled. The other 2 happened to be on days I had other commitments, so I had to decline. Comments on their Facebook page generally suggest that this is a good company to work for, so I hope I’ll have more opportunities to give it a try in the future.

Doxie, the same thing happened to me. I jumped through all of their hoops and signed up and then they NEVER called me. Disappointing!

You should get the Tallgrass App for your phone. That’s how I can easily access my jobs.

I have been working for Tallgrass since August and love it!!!

    • Rebe

Wendy, could you please tell us what the pay is? Exactly how close from minimum wage?

I think it just depends on the region ur applying for, bigger cities prob get more wrk, but u cld have a nasty lead (like ANY job) I’m too introverted & many of the “well to do” yuppies around here piss me off lol

I’ve also heard that some of the assignments involving alcoholic beverages (liquor stores, etc.) pay better. I wasn’t part of that team so I’m not 100% sure but that’s what I heard through the grapevine.

    • Harlow

LOl, introverts unite!! haha LOL, I know how u feel 😉

I did in store promotions through psstearn. I liked it and still get calls every now and then. I oive in a rural area so there aren’t as many demonstrators.

I work for them too. Liquor assignments do pay better. They are a good company from what I can tell. Take the time to get TIPS certified on line to do liquor.

I’ve worked for Tallgrass for the past 6 months and it’s not a bad job to have. Very flexible, you either accept or decline the jobs, great for at home moms to make a little money when the hubby watches the kids on the weekends. They have jobs Thurs-Sun at places like HEB, Super Target and other local grocery stores as well as liquor stores. The pay varies $11starting for the grocery stores and $22 for liquor stores. I work in the Austin TX area and work 3-4 days a month because that is what I choose to work (don’t want to miss out on all the family time) and usually at the liquor stores. It’s quick easy money. You do provide a ssn for taxes but it is a limit company that works with you schedule. You have a few things to do like a phone interview, obtain food handlers/liquor certification and regular paperwork but there is a $30 bonus if you complete everything in 30 days. Very easy to do. Hope this helps a little.

thanks Sabrina and Robin! Living in Brooklyn, NY not sure what the laws would be like here for the alcohol handling.
