This price would be a dream! I pay $50 a filter and I have 3 units. Aprilaire are not cheap! Ugh.

Just FYI, don’t ever pay too much for filters. My HVAC guy, and many before him, say that the filters are in place to protect the furnace from debris and dust, and not our lungs. By the time the air goes to the ducts, any allergy benefits the filter might have, is long gone. So, just buy the cheapest out there and change it regularly. We have, and when we had our 4 year old furnace cleaned, he guy could not believe it had never been cleaned before, it was so clean.

$58.72 for (12) 20x25x1 shipped to my house is super cheap. $4.89 a filter is pretty cheap in my neck of TN! Thanks Collin!!!!!

AMEN!! Been working in Heating and air for 14 years.. You basic 1″ filter is all you need. If you use a 2″ or pleated change it every month because it blocks your air flow..

      • Kim

Becky – what about a Fiberglass? Menards has True Blue Fiberglass for $8.80 / 12 pk. Would that block air flow?

Fantastic deals! Thank you so much!!

A tip from my furnace guy: Buy a “taller” filter and when it’s time to replace it, turn it (i.e., use the other end.). (For example, I need a 20″ x 20″ filter, but I try to buy the 20′ x 30″.) The filter costs a little more, but can be used twice–once at either end. This is great because I often find the bigger, odd-sized filters on clearance at Target.

      cool – thanks!

One of my A/C guys said much the same as Charlotte’s. He advised using the cheaper filters and changing them monthly because the denser pleated ones make it harder for the system to pull air through. Therefore I use Walmart EZ-Green brand which come in packs of four for around $4.00. My A/C system, apparently, stays very clean.

We use a reusable air filter for our heater. Every so often, my hubby takes it out, lays it on the floor and vacuums it with the vacuum attachment, or you can spray it with a hose. They last for years and can be purchased at Home Depot.

If you go through SavingStar, you’ll get 2% cash back. I just bought 2 cases of the NaturalAire FPR 4 (green on label) so I have enough to last a year. My HVAC guy agrees, buy a moderately inexpensive filter (not necessarily the lowest) and change 1x per month. Thank you, Colin! What a deal!

Score. Thanks! Used ebates too for 2%

Great deal, thanks for posting! I got my size for $30.30 incl. tax! $2.50/filter is an awesome deal for me!!

  11. Heidi

My husband was super pumped about this — thank you!

  12. Emily

Thanks! I couldn’t remember what size we need and I’m at work. I knew they’d be out of stock when I got home. I ordered one of each and will return the one that doesn’t work. Here’s hoping they don’t arrive damaged in shipping!

Also, as a new homeowner, I have questions. How often do you have your furnace cleaned? Ours is a monster and 45 yrs old but still working perfectly. This was our first winter in our house and we replaced the filters on schedule but now what? And if you get it cleaned every year, do you do it in the spring after the hard winter when you shut if off (only heat, no AC) or do you do it in the fall before you fire it back up? Thanks!

    • Carrie8

I have an oil furnace that’s almost 40 years old. Oil furnaces really need to be cleaned every year. Gas, you can do less often, but if mine were gas and ancient, I’d play it safe and still do every year.

    • Carrie8

Oh, I do it in the fall. I only have the AC serviced every 2-3 years.

    • Charlotte

We got our furnace cleaned this past fall, first time in 4 years. We also replace filters regularly, and the HVAC guy said our furnace was really clean. So, if you’re good with the filters, I’d say to safely leave it a few years between cleaning.

Yay! Just bought a house and this really helps offset some of the upfront expenses! Thanks Hip2Save!!

  18. michelle

Thanks so much Collin. I use a 20 x 20 and they go fast if anyone has a sale. Happy I got a great deal on some.

  19. Tammy

Thank you so much. We have three heat pumps in our house and that means three filters each time we change them. That can really add up.

  20. SIMONE

Thanks so much … saved me a lot of money. I normally pay like $8.80 for one and this is without taxes. I got them each for $4.25 … great deal 🙂

    • SIMONE

$4.25 WITH TAXES AND SHIPPED 🙂

  21. Jan

Thank you so much, Colin, for finding and posting this deal. I have a hard to find size, 14 x 30 filters. The cheapest that I can find is around $9.00 per filter, when they are actually in stock. I have 2 units with a total of 3 intakes. So I normally spend $30 each time I switch them out, when I can find them!!! These cut that in half!!!

  22. Jenn

Thanks 🙂 Ironically I just bought a 3 pack today of both sizes before I saw this post, but I eagerly ordered one of the sizes that I needed on sale her online 🙂
