There is a reason these are refurbished! We have two kindle fires and both will no longer charge (a common complaint). Calls to customer service only gave $20 off our next kindle purchase. I would personally grab the iPad mini this week if you are looking for a tablet.
We had 2 older generation Kindle Fires which eventually had problems charging. But we now have 2 HD’s (which both came refurbished) and they’ve had no problems at all. IMO, depending on what you’re going to be mainly using it for, Kindles are the way to go. Ipads, iphones, & the like are money grabbers. Great free content on Amazon & you can share it all between devices.
I had the same problem several times. I had an extended warranty so I was able to get 2 replacements after each one didn’t charge anymore. After the 3rd one stopped charging my warranty was up. They offered me a new one for $99. I told them they were crazy if they thought I was going to spend a dime on another one with no guarantee that I won’t have the same problem. We have an iPad mini and samsung galaxy. Haven’t had any problems with either.
I agree. We have one that only charges sometimes and it is a pain. It would be better to price match the Ipad Mini for the same price
