you probably need to refresh. On my phone, in the left bottom corner, it looks like a piece of paper. I click that and an option to refresh pops up.
Now to find the 14 oz size. 2 of my 3 stores had only 21 oz can 🙁
I found the 14oz in my area, but when I scanned the UPC code, it said it wasn’t the right product. ?????
I purchased it anyway, I figured a could always contact them later. This was my first time using saving star. I hope it’s not a pain.

Hi Laura, That is the UPC we have in our database. We’ll look into why the barcode scan returned the message that it wasn’t the right product. Hi Laura, After some research today, we found that the barcode scanner has a tough time differentiating the green barcode on Comet with the green packaging. We’ll be making an update to the barcode scanner in an upcoming mobile app update to help fix this. Thanks again for bringing this to our attention. -Josh
JOSH FROM SAVING STAR- A 14 oz. Comet is unavailable anywhere here; If Comet does come in a 14 oz. can, it is impossible to find- the drugstores here just sell the Ajax brand, and the large grocery chain just carries the 21-oz can, presumably because the price of the 21-oz. can is only $1 to begin with (i.e. $1 is the regular price); wouldn’t Saving Star honor this as qualifying, since it is the only size even being sold by your affiliate(?)
P.S. TO JOSH FROM SAVING STAR- If you are relying on bar codes for matching, the UPC is likely different for the bonus size Comet on the shelf.
Hi B, Unfortunately, this offer is only valid on the 14 oz size. I’m sorry to hear that your local store only had the larger size. The 14 oz is available at many stores throughout the country, although there are some stores that do not carry it. Thanks, Josh

Rather than saying that my “local store” does not carry it, I was trying to explain that (despite being located in the populated area capital-city area), neither the drug storeS nor the grocery storeS here offer the product in the stipulated size (ZERO of the FIVE stores that Saving Star partners with carry the 14 oz. size container- making it a wild goose chase to look for it. Knowing that there is no way to fulfill the offer with an item not available, it does not seem fair that Savings Star would not count the one that the stores actually carry and which sells for a minimal equivalent amount.
Laura, are you confusing Savingstar with Ibotta? You don’t need to scan anything with Savingstar.
On the saving star app, under offers you can double check the product to make sure you are purchasing the correct offer. I did this under the comet offer and it stated the UPC code was not right.
Since I was new to saving star I used this feature.

My savings star app updated the other day and I am no longer getting the Friday Freebie in my list. Why is that?

Lately when I have been purchasing the saving star freebie Its been hit or miss with recieving the cash back even though I make sure it is the exact product and size qualifications . I have ended up keeping reciepts in order to return items just in case. Its been hit or miss lately. Never used to have a problem getting the cash back not sure whats been going on.:-(
