Chick-fil-A Cow Appreciation Day: Dress Up in Cow Attire = FREE Meal or Entree (July 11th)

In celebration of Cow Appreciation Day on July 11th, Chick-fil-A will award a FREE combo meal (breakfast, lunch or dinner) to any customer who comes to one of the chain’s 1,800+ restaurants fully dressed from head to hoof as a cow. Also, Chick-fil-A will award a FREE entree to customers partially dressed in cow attire, such as a cow-spotted scarf, purse, hat or other accessory. Decision of what qualifies as fully-dressed versus partially-dressed is at the discretion of the restaurant Operator.

Need some inspiration for a cow costume? Check out these ideas from Chick-fil-A…
* Start with items that you already have at home – cow- printed accessories stashed in your closet will work perfectly. Hats, vests, scarves, neckties, pants, shoes, pajamas – just abut any cow-spotted item will work. Just make sure you’re covered head to toe!
* Wear white, and then just add spots. Throw on a white T-shirt with white pants (even sweatpants) and stick on your spots using black contact paper. If contact paper is not easily accessible, you can cut spots out of construction paper and tape them to your shirt and pants. If nothing else, you can grab an old white T-shirt and color black spots all over it with a magic marker.
* Go to your local paint or hardware store and get a white painter’s hat and overalls. And then decorate yourself with spots made out of contact or construction paper.

Felt would also work for spots! We always have tons of it!
Last year I took a few old white t-shirts of my husbands that we were going to turn into rags and I cut circles in them and we wore that over a black shirt–Voila, spots!
Then printed out their sheet and taped the ears to a baseball hat or a headband, then made a tail with yarn.
That is such a great idea!

Chick fil a supports some issues that are of ethical and moral question, as a result my family does not patronize their establishments. No judgement here on those who do and/or agree with the stance of the Owners. Just a FYI for anyone not familiar with the controversy. I have appreciated the postings of others on this forum who bring certain issues to my attention.

I usually stay off “hot topics” but I feel the need to chime in on this one. There are three locations within a five miles radius of my home. ALL three employee a very diverse group and I mean diverse in every possible sense. Employers like Chic Fil A and Hobby Lobby have the right to have their own opinion provided their opinion does not discriminate. The stores in my area don’t. With stores like Hobby Lobby, while I don’t agree with their choices, some insurance beats NO insurance, regardless. Those who feels the need to boycott, I respect it but I would rather eat Chic Fil A than McDs.

I checked out the social responsibility tab on Chick-fil-a’s website. They donate an incredible amount of money to a variety of charities including foster homes, youth programs, and donating food to those in need and for disaster relief. While I do not agree with the owner’s view on marriage, I support any company that gives back to the community.
Chick-fil-a actually supports what is moral and ethical. I feel like your comment is “judgment” . Good grief, I wouldn’t comment if Collin put up a sale for Burger King even if I don’t agree with their choices. You are free to your choice to eat there or not.
You yourself are passing judgment by stating that Chick-fil-a supports “what is moral and ethical,” implying that what they don’t support is NOT moral and ethical. Here’s a judgment for you: you’re a hypocrite.
I am merely pointing out that by commenting on here Anne is judging people who do support Chick-fil-a, while stating “No judgment here” I am fully aware that I am passing a judgment, that is something people do multiple times a day without even thinking. You are making a judgment on whether or not I am passing judgment.

Wow did not mean to ruffle so many feathers! There really is no judgement to others who wish to support chick fil a. Sorry about my wording, if it offended people. I just wanted to bring this up because theres been plenty of other instances where someone shares info/knowledge with me I was not aware of and I appreciate it so much. I do my own research but I cannot research everything so I love hearing what people say…and I definitely appreciate those who mentioned all the community donations and development work done by this company. I don’t understand all of the backlash with chic fil a. Last time I checked, we all have a right to our own religious beliefs and opinions. They aren’t discriminating who comes into their establishment. So why does it matter?
Agreed, I love Chick Fil A! At least one Sunday a month I get cravings for them lol (hey, but I support their not working on Sunday…. I just have to deal with it lol)
So, I suppose if it were run by avowed white supremacists (or maybe just financially contribute to the Klan), you’d turn a blind eye as long as they don’t turn people away at the door and their chicken tenders are sufficiently tasty?

White supremacists treat others with hate, they want to kill those who are not white. This is in no way what Chick-Fil-A has done. Chick-fil-a supports traditional marriage, but they do not hate those who have a different opinion. You on the other hand sound like you truly hate those with an opinion other than your own. The color of someone’s skin is not a choice, nor is it related to chick-fil-a!!
I think you need to look a little further into what they support, which includes hate groups that want kill people who are gay. That’s a little beyond “supporting traditional marriage”, wouldn’t you say?

Save your sympathy for someone who needs it, like the people struggling with their sexual orientations who are constantly beaten down by the kind of groups that Chik-Fil-A supports. Maybe it doesn’t matter to you when a company financially supports hate groups created to kill people for their sexual orientation, but it matters to me, as well as other people who don’t see that as “moral and ethical”.
Can you give examples of these “hate groups created to kill people for their sexual orientation” that are supported by Chick Fil A? It is easy to throw mud without any proof, but if it is true I would honestly like to know it.

Daily Kos, the extreme far left propaganda website, has no links within that article to back your accusation. As for Huffpo, again, no link to back anything you claim within their article either. As for the Southern Poverty Law Center designating any group who doesn’t believe what they believe, a hate group, I laugh out loud.

Why only 2 people?
Our traditional, blended family loves Chick Fil A. They support our religious beliefs, our troops and our children. My daughter just participated in their WinShape community camps and loved it. We are thrilled when this event comes around. I am currently sewing this year’s attire. My wordpress pic has been last year’s cows all year.
As far as the remarks, Chick Fil A does more to support what they believe in than many organizations I know. Trolling around does nothing. Get out there, do something and stand up for what you believe in and hopefully in a positive way that doesn’t involve trash talking or spray painting Chick Fil A facilities.
