Looking for a unique way to display pictures in your home? Try this easy idea to up-cycle outdated picture frames and candle sticks (think thrift store!) into these pretty and stylish pedestal photo frames.
For this project you’ll need:
*2 photo frames with flat sides
*2 candlesticks of varying heights
*spray paint
*strong glue such as E6000
Directions:
Make sure your frames and candlesticks are clean and dry and then spray paint them in a color of your choice. You may need a couple of coats of spray paint. Let dry overnight. Glue the top of the candlestick to the bottom of the frame and let dry overnight once again.
Display photos in your pedestal frames or use them when entertaining to display the name or recipe card of the food dish you are serving. Dress up a party by displaying the guest of honor or the party invite or use them for table numbers at weddings or events.

And how about making a homemade pedestal cake display? In the video below, I show you how easy and affordable it is to do just that! These displays are great for candies, cupcakes, fruit, jewelry, keys and more!
So cute!
I like these 🙂 These would be really cute to display at birthday parties too! I tried to do something similar with items from Dollar Tree to make my own cupcake stand. It didn’t end well. 😛
Collin, I love your enthusiasm. You are hillarious. Also, I love your kitchen! We are getting ready to undergo a huge remodeling project; pretty much an entire house. Any tips on how to save big on remodeling?
This is so cute! I am going to have to give this a try!
Pinning this for my 10 year vow renewal I am planning for in 1.5 years. We have about 30 of those faux brass candlesticks. I think I am going to print out pictures of us through the years and put them all over (am planning to have our renewal in our home). Thanks for the idea!
These will also be great to use when you are having a buffet and want to label the food. I bought some small, dry erase type items for that purpose but quickly realized they are hard to see, hard to read (b/c of my horrible handwriting) and are too small to include any details. With these, I can type out cute cards to fit the frames, include ingredients, allergy warnings, etc. and, if I am having a themed party, I can match them to the theme. Oh, I am all over these!!!
I never have any luck with the glue:( never sticks. Tried this & the cake stand
Very cute idea! I always look forward to Lina’s recipes and ideas.
Wow, so cute!
Or table numbers for a wedding! I wish I would have thought of this 3 years ago when I got married!
Love!
I love your tips! Making cabbage enchiladas (earlier post) tonight and this project will be in my near future. Nice homemade gift idea. Keep the great posts coming, Lina!
My Mom made these for me for my wedding last September. They looked like crystal from glass plates we bought at Dollar Tree. We used them for cookies and punch on the porch. Frugal and SO cute…wonderful mini project that meant so much!
