already gone 🙁
I have a friend who is blind as of 2012. Does anyone know of any audio book programs for the blind that are discounted or free?? Bless her heart, she gets so bored living alone. 🙁
Librivox.com has volunteer recordings of books that are in the public domain (I believe this just means their copyright has expired, usually old classics like Anne of Green Gables, Heidi, Little Women, etc. My sisters and I have a few of these.) Audible also has a discounted book every day and a free classic every month (August is Pollyanna.) In addition, when purchasing Kindle or paperback books, audio books become significantly cheaper. Also, select classics are $.99 on audible with whisper sync after buying the (usually free) kindle book that goes with it. Hope this helps! I understand having a passion for books :).
Learning Ally formally reading for the blind and dislexic. Everything from general books to textbooks. Just need a doc note to submit for their program. It’s an organization, books are read by volunteers.
