What exactly is a Starbucks Star Code?

    • noemi

      I’m wondering too.

Just a bit of info about k cups if you are concerned about recycling and are on the fence about trying k-cups:
“K-Cups can’t be recycled as a whole unit due to the structure of the cup.” With upwards of 17 million U.S. households and offices possessing Keurig coffee brewers these days, billions of K-Cups are already ending up in landfills every year.
I compost my old fashioned filter and coffee grounds, they make great fertilizer.

I’ve been peeling the tops off mine and washing them out before putting them in the recycle bin. Will that not work?

      • mel

Only if the cup has the recycle triangle on it. Otherwise the recycling center weeds it out during processing and trashes it.

Oh ok, thanks Mel. I think I checked one of the first ones I did and it had the symbol so I assumed they all did. Oops.
