Looking for a way to support local teachers? Did you know that Limeades for Learning, a national initiative of Sonic America’s Drive-In, supports U.S. public school teachers by providing essential funds needed for learning materials and innovative teaching techniques (such as books, puppets, copy paper, CD’s, and more)?!

If you’re a teacher, you can head on over here and create a project for your classroom (be sure to keep your total project costs under $450). Follow the directions and submit your project. Then, just spread the word about your project and encourage voting so your project can be funded! Also, feel free to leave the links to your Teacher Projects in the comments section below. 🙂

Here’s how you can support your local Teacher Projects…

*Create an account on www.LimeadesforLearning.com and you’ll receive one vote per day
*Find a local Teacher Project that you want to fund by searching your local city/state
*Visit your local Sonic and receive two extra vote codes on your bag sticker
*Vote online ten times and get two extra vote codes via email
*Share your vote on social media or email to receive additional votes
*Repeat the process once a day to help your favorite project get enough votes to be funded!

Feel free to leave the links to your Teacher Projects in the comments section below!

I absolutely ABHORE Facebook voting contests like these, ESPECIALLY for something that’s for a good cause like public schools. I just think teachers have a lot of better things to do than try and pump up votes for a stupid popularity contest. Why can’t companies like this find a “better” way to make sure the right projects get funded in the schools that need it?

    • Anne

Many schools do not have the money for things their students need, and teachers have to either pay out of their own pocket or find another way. I think this is a wonderful way for teachers to get what they need for their students. And while we may have “a lot better things to do,” getting the things our students need is simply added to the list of never ending things we do. I would much rather ask my friends, family, and community for votes than money.

I agree with your point on the fact that teachers do have better things to do than pump up votes. So I just throw a post once on my social media sites. If people see it and contribute, then great! However, companies like SONIC have been amazing during this campaign and during Teacher Appreciation week. They threw out a 5x match last year, which helped a lot of us teachers receive full funding for numerous projects, at a fraction of the original costs. So, I will gladly support these companies by giving them a shout out. So here’s my project I’m promoting this go around: https://limead.es/4467827

Adoptaclassroom.com is a great site. Teachers do not have to drum up votes to get funding. You place your projects online and people can make donations towards it. I placed one and JC Penney donated $100 towards my supplies.

Please tell me how that works with JC Penney. I really need votes. I am on limeaid .

I would love your support for my classroom! I wish teachers had access to all the supplies that they needed too, but the reality is that they don’t so I try to get what they need in every possible way.

Amber, I keep getting an ‘access denied’message when I try to enter the Limeades for lLearning website to vote for a project that I am interested in. Can you tell me why and tell me how to enter the Limeade for Learning website so that I can access the page that enables me to vote for a project?

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Hi Doris! This is a much older post, however it looks like you can still vote for a project. You’ll need to sign up or login to do so. If still having issues, maybe try once more in a different browser. Hoping these tips are helpful!
