OfficeMax.com: Reese’s Peanut Butter Minis King Size 16 ct Box Only $2.29 + Free In-Store Pick Up

Hip2Save may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you via trusted partners and affiliate links in this post. Prices and availability are accurate as of time posted. Read our full disclosure policy here.

UPDATE: It appears orders are now getting canceled on this one, as apparently the price is for the single-serve bags even though the 16-count packs are shown on their website. 🙁

* Proceed with caution on this deal as this price is about what a single package would cost. However, when you click the link and go to the site, it clearly shows the 16 ct box.

Hop on over to OfficeMax.com where you can score a 16 ct box of Hershey Reese’s Peanut Butter Minis King-Size for just $2.29. Plus, you can choose FREE in-store pick up  (if available at an OfficeMax near you). Otherwise, shipping is free with a $50 order.

  5. Ckopp

Do we know if it’s for the whole box or just one bag yet?

    • Debby

says on office max specs 16 count box

      • Stefanie

        It says
        Product Specs:
        Type Candy
        Flavor Peanut Butter
        Quantity 16/Box

Just still not sure that ensures it will be a 16 ct box, or whether it is just saying that 16 come in a box.

        • Katie

I think we are safe. Everything says Qty 16.

My store said they had 4 in stock, but when I went to check out would not work. So the next nearest store had plenty. I think it means the box from this.

    • Aubbers

      It’s a 16 count box =)

  6. L

When you put the item # at Office Max, into the search of Office Depot (they are now one company), it shows a pic of 1 bag and says 2.5oz. Think I will pass on this one 🙁

  7. patti

    placed my order!

  8. sharon

I’m going to try it. I just placed my order! Fingers crossed!

  9. Stefanie

I placed an order and printed off the item & description from the website to bring with. We’ll see how it goes!

  10. Daniell

Couldn’t u price match this at Walmart and or Target?

  11. Minnie

I happened to be online right when this was posted- placed my order right away and they already cancelled it.

  12. Brittany

Can you return it if they are only single packages?

  13. Amanda

Just ordered three boxes for pickup, can’t beat .14 a king size bag! They are going to be a chocoholics Christmas present! 😄

  14. Jennifer

Just got cancelled for me too. They said it’s 16 pieces per bag.

  15. c

    order cancelled 🙁

  16. cole

Just called the store, they said it was for one single bag 🙁

  17. Christi

Not holding my breath, but if we actually get these what a great deal for quality Halloween candy.

  18. lastquartertsuki

My order is “ready for pickup”, but after reading what other people are saying, I’m not holding out much hope for a box and may have to do a return. I’ll be picking them up tomorrow so I guess I’ll find out for sure then.

    • lastquartertsuki

I called before I bothered going out and they said “online glitch, etc etc” so it was a no go for me. I just had them refund my order.

  19. Tarri

I am going to pass because if it goes through and it is only one of the small individual packages and I don’t want it and return it, they may have to throw it away because it is a food item.

  20. stacey

office max just called me and said it was a mistake

  21. Tobey

I ordered some . We will see . I am hoping they will honor it since it is there error. . If not I will cancel .

  22. Mary Jane

I just called customer service and they did verify that is the 16/ct box but I can not order and have pick up at our store as not available. Customer service told me that the only store I could do store pickup was a store in Florida and I live in Washington State. Shipping would have been 9.99 which still brings the boxes to $3.71 per box and about .23 a bag. Not bad

  23. Donna

Order confirmation Ready for pickup Now got a call from the store!!!!!

  24. Nicole

Ordered 5 boxes. Says 16/ box
Ready for pick up. Will find out tomorrow!

  25. molly

They won’t honor it. I’m at office max and they will sell you one and not a box even if ordered online and pickedup in store.

  26. Ashley D

You might be able to price match this at staples if they carry them.

  27. Ben

Another company thats doing False Advertising. I contacted the BBB and emailed them the picture and price and other pertinent info.

    • Fran

Exactly I called and told her that it is clearly false advertising and she said sorry I can not promise the store will honor it. I asked for a supervisor and she said they are all on calls and the wait it 30 plus minutes. I also saved the pictures from the websites and I am about to submit the complaint with the BBB

      • steph

OMG, Seriously, it was a mistake.

        • Sara

          Right, people over-react

        • Fran

JC Penny had a nationwide clerical error where all their clothing was ringing up for 0.25 – 1.00 a piece just this past year which clearly was making them lose money however they HONORED it. It is not the customers fault. They can take the listing down from their website, not accept anymore orders, and honor the ones that were made. That is all some of up people who over-react ask for.

          • marie

            Well then good luck!

      • Callie

How would you feel if this was your business?

        • Fran

Funny you should say that Callie. I do run my own business I have given full refunds when the product didn’t get to them when it was suppose to. There was even a payment that was sent but got lost in my junk mail bin since. I was contacted asking why I didn’t confirm that I received payment (she sent me cash) and send out the product. I explained I never received their payment. When I went to shred my junk mail bin I came across the payment. I sent her money back and her product next day shipping, and gave her store credit for double what her original order was. SINCE IT WAS MY FAULT! Running a business depends on your customers if they aren’t happy your pocket book isn’t happy. Since my business is based on word of mouth to spread my website. I gained 6 more customers from her and she was very happy. Did I lose money you bet you I did initially but I have made it back from righting MY mistake. If I listed on my website that something was $10 and it was suppose to say $100 well I would have to suck it up and bite the temporary lose. Immediately fix my website so I wouldn’t lose more money. If I can do this and I am not even close to the customer base that Office Max has I think they can bite the bullet and honor their price.

        • Fran

This being said they still have not fixed their web page it still is wrong they have not fixed it after upsetting many people. This is a problem IMO.

  28. Heather C

OMG-so glad I missed this. Saved myself at least 5 lbs 😝

  29. ana

order was cancelled. The person from the store said they were instructed to cancel all reese’s orders

  30. Fran

I really think we should demand that they honor this… I have worked retail before its not the customers fault if the store or even an associate marked an item for the wrong price. They are suppose to honor it. I printed out the pages that clearly show that it says 16/box which means 16 a box not bag. I am going to call again and hopefully get a supervisor if not I will be filing a complaint with the better business bureau.

    • Cheryl Portale Sibole

Ok, seriously. This was a mistake. You are taking it a bit too far, don’t you think?

      • Fran

I do not believe so. I wasted my time and gas hauling my two children to the store to be told they are not honoring it because store policy says that even if it is their fault they will not honor the price. .

        • marie

That is your fault then because Collin said proceed with caution. It was your choice to use your gas and time to go buy candy. It is the stores choice whether to honor a misprint or deal advertised wrong.

          • Fran

I am not upset with Collin, not one bit. My order was confirmed meaning they looked over the order and saw no errors. I then went to the store to be told that they can not honor the error.

        • Sara

The BBB is not going to do anything. You were not scammed out of money. You’re not paying for something you’re not getting; the orders are being cancelled. It wasn’t advertised in a sales ad, it was a mistake on their website. How many people that are pissed off about not getting this deal would have even known about it if it hadn’t been for the “deal” site posting about it? Most people with an ounce of common sense would have realized it was a misprint, rather than trying scam the company and getting pissed when the order gets cancelled. Fran, you are what is wrong with consumers today. It’s people like you that are helping to drive prices up.

      • meg

Omg! I needed a good laugh today! It is freakin candy! It was a mistake for petes sake.I agree that they should have fixed it on the website but come on! I wish this was all I had to worry and get upset about.

        • Sara

Agreed, Meg. I’ve been laughing at a lot of the comments. I love getting good deals too, but to get so upset over something like this is ridiculous.

  31. Apple

I just wasted a trip to Office Max, they said it was not in stock. They called customer service and a recorded message expressed that there aren’t any available for in store purchase. The manager of the store in Altamonte Springs Fl, Bill was not helpful, or concerned that I wasted a trip. 😡

    • mich

Thanks for that, Altamonte is where I sent mine for in store pick up. Hasn’t been canceled yet.

    • Sara

Did you waste a trip over something that was advertised in their weekly ad that they didn’t have, or did you waste a trip over something that was advertised on a deal site (NOT associated with OfficeMax) that even stated it might not be honored because the price was about the same as a bag of candy? Why should he be concerned that you wasted a trip? That was your choice.

  32. Stephanie

Store just called to state was for individual pack not a case. What a crock!!

  33. molly feit

They will fulfill your order but you won’t get a box you will get us single package

  34. Sammy

My order was cancelled, however it says to reorder and have it shipped to my house for free. I tried that.. We will see!

  35. Alexis

Just wet to pick mine up and it was individuals not a box. They said they don’t even get boxes in.

    • Katie

That’s not true. Candy always come in a box like that. The store then opens the box for individual sale.

  36. Alycia

At office max now order has been refunded…not available in store!!!! Ughhh

  37. Lisa

I just bought 27 cases for $51. 83 with free shipping. Breaks down to 11 cents each. Use coupon code CALENDARS FOR $10 off. 3% back on shopathome.com and ebates.com. Additional 5% back with MAXPERKS Rewards Card.

    • Katie

27 cases?! You must have a village come over for Halloween!

  38. Stephanie

store called and let me know they would either honor the price for a single bag or could cancel my order. Just called back to canceled, so at least I didn’t lose any money on the deal.

  39. jennifer

i understand that everyone makes mistakes but I don’t understand why it is still up on their site if it was an error then why not fix it? They took the time to call me and cancell my order, take a minute to fix their listing on their site

  40. Sara

    I agree Cheryl 🙂

  41. Melissa-Ann

Yep. Had to cancel. The guy said he’s been canceling these orders all day. Bummer they didn’t honor their mistake.

  42. gerri

Same here in Az, they cancelled my store pick up AND my online order after I received a confirmation from them! ugh!! Oh well, off to Target! 🙂

  43. Julia Wedding

Just talked to office max. They are not honoring the ad.

  44. Sharon

I would think their publicity department is shaking their heads. Is it really worth all the bad publicity when they are trying so hard to launch their combined websites/stores? Anyway, my order was cancelled too. Comme ci comme ca.

  45. Sandra

It is a bummer that this deal is not valid. Honestly though it was pretty obvious from the beginning that it was unlikely to be a legit deal. That is pretty much the cost of one bag at most retailers so to think you are going to get 16 bags for the same cost did not seem realistic. Having said that, OfficeMax is completely aware of the misleading online ad and yet they have not made any attempt to remove it? It would take but mere moments for their tech team to remedy this error on their website. I understand human error occurs but when it is brought to their attention do something: as in move with a purpose and that purpose being to limit the number of customers you are pissing off by not honoring what is posted on your website. I appreciate when stores honor their mistakes but not all do and that is their right too.

  46. Julie F

Gave it a shot in Minnesota and headed to the store. They felt terrible, and did not have the cases.. only sold me the sigle packs (which I returned).

  47. Diana

funny thing is…hours later the site STILL has them showing at 2.29/16ct. box

  48. Sarah

I wouldnt pay $2.29 for one bag anyway… doesn’t that seem high even for a king size serving? Guess I haven’t bought candy like tgat in awhile- lol!

  49. Donna

I too like a good deal but obviously this was a mistake so I passed. In the past, stores have stated they have disclaimers on their site to protect themselves from this type of error. I’m not saying it wasn’t worth a try but now the deal is dead and they have no responsibility to do anything but to reimburse you for what you are out. In the past I have also gone through the purchasing and then the company canceling orders so I am not blaming anybody. The Better Business Bureau or Corporate offices or whoever won’t do anything…no need to get yourself worked up. Lets move on to the next good deal.

  50. Susan

I went to the store to pick mine up and was told it was for a single pack of candy. I feel they should have at least given out a discount certificate off a future purchase at the store.
