They were just talking about this on one of the morning shows. They confirmed that it starts today and runs until Christmas to get the holiday shopping business. Wow!
…and they will get mine!! 🙂
Me too!! 🙂
I just heard it on the news, too. Awesome! There isn’t a target near me, and I won a couple gift cards this year, so I will be using them soon!

OFF TOPIC – does anyone know anything about the VTech Kidizoom camera connect? I am in the market for a camera for my 3 1/2 year old who loves to take pictures – or,any other suggestions?
Can’t speak to that one but the Fisher Price Kid Tough one was crap. The screen was small, photos were small and of poor quality, and it was a pain to download them on the computer, so we didn’t. To be honest, I’m finding that a lot of kid’s technology toys are not worth the time/energy for me (e.g., Leapfrog with their updates that aren’t backward compatible). My son didn’t like the FP camera, but we had an old point and shoot digital camera that we didn’t need and he loved using that. Honestly, I’d look for a cheapy digital camera rather than a toy camera. That would require supervision, but limited playtime sometimes makes a toy a little more special. I could have bought a real camera for much less than I paid for the FP bundle that I got. Ditto for toy tablets. We skipped them and bought a Nabi, which is designed for children but is a real tablet that we can use.
Totally agree!! Don’t waste your money on a kid camera! They are terrible. my suggestion is wait until black friday and but a real camera!
Thank you
We also have two FP cams (gifts from uncle), and while sturdy and fun it takes horrible pics. I would suggest giving your kids your old digital cams. I also agree other posters’ opinions on electronics made specifically for kids. Waste of $!
thank you
I agreen with the above comments. Save your money. The pictures are horrible quality. Better off buying a cheap digital camera that actually has some MP.
thank you
Hi Lindsey. My daughter has the VTech Spin and Smile Digital Camera and it has been great! We’ve had it at least two years, and it’s held up extremely well. (Been dropped and mishandled loads of times and keeps on kickin’!) It’s packed with games and fun stuff. There’s a voice recorder where she can record her own songs and several games where she can add cartoon like images onto real pictures. She loves it! I pop a 8 GB card into it and she can go forever. Occasionally, I use the USB that it comes with and download it all onto my computer and she can start over. It has a rotating viewfinder so that she can take “selfies.” My only word of caution is that there is about a half second delay from when she clicks the picture and when it actually takes. So if she pulled the camera away right after taking a picture, it turned out blurry. We taught her to hold the camera still and count to two before moving it, and it’s worked out just fine. Also, I got hers a couple years ago just before Christmas on a daily deal I believe and paid just under $60. Hope that helps!
thank you. I will look into this one.
Everything about my (non-toy) older V-Tech phone/answering machine is so completely user friendly, logical and customizable that I have a very good impression of the company’s product design. I only have experience with one kids’ V-Tech product [I purchased as a gift– a toddler “cell phone” meant to be like his Daddy’s (a doctor always on his phone)].
Definitely skip the kid cameras and go for a real one, maybe look for a sport tough type for durability and waterproof if you are worried about breaking. 🙂
thank you
Really reduces the value of the Red Card. Wonder if the are phasing it out.
Hmmm good point!
Not in my opinion. This is savvy business dealing! It is all about the free shipping especially at the holidays. I love this!
I agree. It’s heavy competition with other companies offering free shipping for the holidays. So this is smart to keep their loyal Target shoppers as well as gain new ones.
How so? You still get 5% off and the ability to donate to a school of your choice. This is a holiday promotion.
I think it might actually reel people in to get a red card, once they realize the great benefits (free shipping, 5%, etc) they could be getting all year long!
I agree, Db! I was thinking this even before reading your comment. I think if Target were smart they would offer 2-day free shipping to Red Card holders during this period, to be competitive with Amazon Prime (which I find myself using quite often since I signed up for the membership). We should all contact Target and make this suggestion 😉
That has nothing to do with it,it’s just a holiday promotion. Even if it was free shipping all the time for everyone, there’s always value in having a credit card though.
Thanks Collin! I’m sending the College and Beauty Box to my daughter.
Great idea! Thanks!
Just bought the Lego advent calendar yesterday after seeing them on Collins giveaway post thank goodness I have a red card and got free shipping or I would be upset I didn’t wait a day lol
I think I’m getting mine in store so I can use the mobile Q!
which mobile Q can you use for the Advent calendar??
what mobile q? my son desperately wants the lego advent calendar!
Erin … The only Mobile Coupon I see is the $5 Off $25 Infant Toy Purchase (BABY4). Is there another? Thanx.
Sorry ladies! Someone mentioned a mobile toy coupon. No worries yet–there’s more than a month to go. I’m betting Amazon or Target will be offering a discount yet. I’ve NEVER paid full price for these….
Very smart move on Targets part! They will most likely get lots of business for this!
Good time to get that $5 box!
i did that!!!!, too bad the guy one ran out, i really wanted to get that for my son. 🙁
There is an automatic 20% discount (no promo code needed) on select kids’ clothing. Just got a 2 pack of footed pajamas for 11.99 shipped to my door (and we were in need!!) Retailmenot also has the code CHILL10 that didn’t work for me, but supposedly has for others to get an additional 10%….worth a try 🙂
off topic but can anyone recommend a good quality i.e. won’t break after a few uses, easy to use remote control car or vehicle for a almost 3 year old? i want to get one for my kiddos bday but I’m having a hard time finding one a little kid can easily handle.
I would recommend the TMNT shell raiser remote control van. It is super easy to use and fun. I was able to get it for 14.99 a couple months ago at Target, but I think it retails for 49.99. Just keep an eye out for a good deal on that.
Tonka Bounceback racers are great. They’re fairly big and soft rubber so they don’t damage your furniture and the remote is large and easy to use (two buttons, I think). When they run into a wall, they bounce and face the other direction so little kids don’t have to learn backing up skills.
I also read in one of the articles that target will be offerin a 50 percent discount on a toy everyday with cartwheel starting November 1st.
Thank you for the tip
Wow!!! That would be AWESOME! Although, depending on the toy, and where you love, might be something you’d have to race out and get immediately to insure you got one. Unless you can use CartWheel with online purchases? And then the shipping would be free! Thanks for the heads up! 🙂
I am very excited, especially since I have a lot of Target Gift Cards using Swagbacks, Shopkick, and Toluna. Now, I don’t have to worry about going into the store on Black Friday!!!
Hi I placed a order with partial pay gift card but canceled the order? I checked the gift card balance and it says$0 does anybody know if I will receive the balance back?
Hi Joann! Each time I used a GC and canceled an order or had an order cancelled by Target due to nonavailability, I had to call them at the number listed on the website to get the money back in the GC. Did not happen automatically.
Saw a news clip that suggested the “free shipping” promo may be related to the data breach.
Seems to me it’s their way of regaining customer’s trust and or business.
Still afraid to use plastic whenever I shop there which isn’t all to often since the breach. Caused us a major headache with our credit card. Use cash or giftcards if I do go there.
I’d look for cheap digital cameras I snagged 14 MP off brand ones for $10 for 3 of my kids for Christmas. I’m sure those are gone but they were ToysRUs clearance.
